~Chapter 16~
'It's not like her to get drunk and act like that she never goes against her beliefs like that' thought Hiei as he made his way through the forest.
'I gotta find her' he thought as he heard a groan, he landed in front of a doubled over figure... it groaned in pain.
"I thought you were against drinking" he said as she groaned in annoyance.
"If you're here to dictate to me, you're wasting your time" she said as she staggered to stand up, she turned to him her face was streamed with tears... she was absolutely.... wasted.
"Guess I was wrong about my tolerance" she said smiling as she took a step forward; Hiei caught her by the shoulders.
"Oh come on Hiei" she said looking up at him.
"Don't you have something better to do?" she said looking into his crimson eyes.
"Don't YOU have something better to do than get wasted and commit suicide" he said as she rolled her eyes.
"Don't get heavy on me now man" she said as she hiccupped and took another step forward trying to get away from his iron grasp, she felt her legs give in and with that she was out.
Hiei grumbled and threw her over his shoulder... taking off into the trees.

Ross heard the crackling off a fire she brought her hand to her forehead and groaned as she opened her eyes to find herself by a campfire wearing WHAT Hiei's cloak!!
"Uh.... What did I do" she said to herself as she sat up and rubbed her head.
"I feel like I got hit by a truck" she thought out loud as she pulled the cloak closer around her.
"You should" said a familiar voice; she turned to her right to see Hiei by the fire.
"Why do you care" she said turning around not to see his face.
"Hn"
"Good answer" she said still facing the opposite way.
"Why do I have your cloak?"
"Because you were shivering" he said as she sighed.
"Thanks" she mumbled as she turned to look at him.
"Sorry im such a hassle" she said as he sat down by the fire.
"Why did you pretend that you were going to kill yourself?" he said as she raised her head.
"Who was pretending" she said as he looked at her.
"I thought it was against your morals" he said as she stood up going closer to the fire.
"It is... but what kind of morals can a dead person have? My mother wants me dead and my boyfriend acts like im dead... I should say ex-boyfriend" she said a bit quieter at the end.
"Your mother's a bitch" he said as she smiled.
"Point well taken, but that doesn't change the fact that it's my duty to watch over and love her, just as it is hers" she said as he lifted a brow.
"But... she doesn't love you" he said as she sighed.
"Yes she does... in her own way I know it" said Ross standing up and going over to Hiei sitting on the ground by the log he occupied.
"I know I don't talk about it much and well it seems that she's the root of all my problems but the truth is my own selfish mistakes is why I am the way I am... im just not what she wants I know that but I should have told her how I felt sooner you know and... I shouldn't have gotten drunk" she said holding her head as the world around her started spinning.
Hiei laughed at her last comment.
"At least it was funny" she said as he smirked.
"No I think you got your point across" he said as she smiled.
"At least one person gets me" she said looking up at him, his crimson eyes gleamed in the fire's glow he plopped down beside her and let her rest her head on his shoulder.
"Thanks" she said as she pulled his cloak around her tighter... unconsciously breathing in his scent.
She looked up at the sky "I don't know if I should go back this time" she said looking up at the stars.
"Hn, I think you should... what's the use of letting her win"
"You're right..." she said, they sat in silence looking up at the stars, a gust of wind swept through the sleepy forest... Ross shivered; Hiei pulled her closer into his warmth... she smiled and laid her head on his shoulder once again.
"Looks like I have my own personal heater" she said as he blushed and laughed a bit... she laughed and moved to look at him... his crimson eyes bore holes into her soul...
~ Hiei's POV~
I looked down at her the wind had made her hair tasseled but I didn't care it shower her natural beauty... I love the way she trusts me, but I can't hurt her again she would never forgive me right now she just needs a friend and... she could never love me
She smiled up at me her sapphire eyes sparkled from the embers of the fire.... Wait was that purple... I could have sworn her eyes just-
~End of POV~
Hiei was stopped from his thoughts by Ross' lips on his, Ross felt like the world around her had stop... time itself was in pause for their behalf... she could stay like this forever but wait what was she doing!!!
Ross let go at the realization at what she had just did, she bit her lower lip and looked away.
"Sorry" she said blushing 10 shades of red, she stood up and brushed herself off.
"Uh... I got to go" she said and with that she vanished in thin air, to fast for even Hiei to see.
He blinked still confused at her action.
"Uh...." He said as the night grew colder than before.
