SILENT BETRAYAL

I begged my father not to do it, and he asked me why.
And I replied only with silence.
I could think of no lie that would stay his hand, and I could not tell him the truth.
I could not tell him it was because you would not be able to follow.
Nor that I could not bear to spend the rest of my life knowing that I would never see you again.
And so I replied only with silence.
And you were betrayed by my father's hand, and my heart was broken as the ships burned at Losgar.
