Disclaimer: Not mine, never will be. No harm intended.
Rating: PG
Warnings: None really. Sort of death fic, sort of slash.
Pairing: None (Harry/Lucius if you squint)
A/N: This is an epilogue to a Harry/Lucius fic that never got written. I decided to post it anyway as it can stand on it's own.
Stars
There are many stars in the sky on a late August night. Countless stars. Beautiful to look at.
"You see that one? Big and bright? It's Sirius. Sirius' star. And there, those two close by – left of Sirius," Draco stepped closer to better see the direction Harry was pointing at.
"The right one seems red-coloured?" he asked.
Harry nodded.
"Yeah, those. The left one is James and the right one is Lily."
Draco looked incredulously at his companion.
"And you can find the names in the Astronomy textbook?"
"Of course not," Harry looked at his feet. "I named them myself, alright? I just looked at the stars once and noticed those two and somehow they reminded me of my parents... I don't know why." His voice was barely a whisper.
They were quiet for a while. Finally Draco spoke: "Is there a star for Cedric Diggory as well?"
"Mhm. See that small yellow one?"
There was silence again.
At last Draco swallowed and asked: "And my Father? Is there a star for him?"
Harry turned to Draco.
"I came out tonight to find him."
"Oh."
"Help me?"
"Alright."
They rised their eyes to the night sky, searching. After some time Draco touched Harry's arm lightly to get his attention. When Harry turned to him he reached out and pointed: "You see that one there? The one that's sort of flickering and changing colour like its not sure what it wants to be?"
Throat suddenly tight Harry nodded.
"You're right," he finally said. "That's him. Lucius."
Two boys stood together in the night and looked up.
The war had just started and there were so many stars in the sky.
The End
