Dear Diary

Well. That is it. You would think that Fred and George would have learnt by now! Have they? I think not. I mean, of all the ridiculous things they've done - including feeding Professor Snape a canary cream - boy, did they get a lot of detentions for that - this one REALLY takes the biscuit. What were they thinking? Feeding the entire Slytherin House spiked pumpkin juice. Spiked with what you may ask? A love potion. A very strong love potion. This now means that Draco 'I hate mudbloods' Malfoy is currently 'madly in love', yes LOVE, with me. ME! I swear when I see Fred and George I will - urghh!!!

Harry and Ron obviously knew something about it. They were early to breakfast and they kept shooting, in what they probably thought to be 'inconspicuous' glances at the Slytherin table. They thought it was hilarious when Malfoy started declaring his undying love for me (I was the first person he saw after he drank the pumpkin juice). He was actually very sweet - he knew Shakespeare! It was beautiful! He recited it with so much feeling and - what am I saying?!!!

Anyway, it serves them right for laughing, 'cause then Pansy Parkinson flung herself at Harry and refused -

Sorry, had to barricade myself in - Malfoy's trying desperately to get whilst reading a love poem he wrote for me!!! But he won't get in. I put a fire charm on the door, so I suppose it is possible that Malfoy ashes could enter. Anyway – Pansy Parkinson flung herself on Harry and refused to let go. Harry's face! It was priceless. Ron, after looking somewhat stunned, threw Harry's Firebolt to him and Harry started trying to beat her off because he 'couldn't breathe' (so he says, though I suspect he's probably been waiting to do that for a long time…)

The teachers were staring in shock from the high table because all the Slytherins were suddenly springing from their seats and declaring their 'love' for their worst enemies…! Professor Snape started singing for Professor Trelawny! Fred and George are going to be in so  much trouble. Well, they did ask for it. The best reaction was definitely from Ron. Ellios Middegon asked Ron to marry her (!) and he ran screaming from the room. Actually that was the reaction of quite a lot of people in the room.

It took 2 teachers to heave Pansy away from Harry, and then they confiscated his broom when, half crazed with fear, he started attacking them!  He can have it back at the end of the - FLAMMIS! – day.

Fred and George did not turn up to dinner, and all lessons were cancelled until the potion clears up. I was quite looking forward to starting my assignment on Water Imps. A search party of unaffected teachers have gone looking through the castle for F+G. I hope Ron and Harry are ok. I'll write later – I need to see if I can escape through the window.

Yours,

Hermione
