Maybe Someday

Hermione wandered closer and looked into the Mirror of Erised. An older version of herself was singing a lullaby to her dark-haired son. A smile crept to her lips, but quickly fell when the child's father stepped beside her, kissing her cheek, and pulling her to him. Backing away in surprise, she ran into the man himself.
"Professor Snape!"
"Miss Granger, your patrol duty is complete. Return to your dormitory."
Hermione quickly left the classroom, glad to get away without losing points.
Severus Snape started for the door to the room but turned back to wink at the small boy, "Maybe someday."
