Summary: Everthing has happen on the show up to Season 4 when Jess left
Rory after uttering the "L" word. Nothing else on the show has taken place
unless I say it has. This is a future fic..taking place 6 years after
Season 3.
Prologue
Relationships in our lives can be a lot like revolving doors. There are those guys who come and go in and out of your life with tearful goodbye.
But there is always that one guy. The one guy that can go and come back anytime and anywhere and you can't deny that they make you feel the exact same way that they did the last time you saw them. The truth is that you never froze that revolving door to them in the first place.
Rory Gilmore knew this feeling well. During her high school years, one boy had been able to come in and change her life every time he exited and reentered her life. No matter what was going on whenever they met, he always gave her butterflies.
He had come and gone a few times, in and out of her life, each time putting an intense strain on her heart. Each time he left, she would have a battle with her emotions, trying not to portray the hurt she felt to the people she cared about the most.
Sure, Rory had dated other guys in his absence, some relationships short the others longer but there was always something holding her back. She was never able to be completely happy in a relationship. She had never really been able to give anyone her heart like she had given it to him.
The truth is that the last time Jess Mariano had left, he had taken her heart with him. And she had never gotten it back.
