This couldn't be happening! And, if she knew what part they were up to,
she'd probably be screwed.
"Hold on a sec!" she thought, "Can I predict the future here?!"
If so, couldn't she affect the story? What if...she warned Kakashi about Zabuza? Or the identity of the masked boy, Haku? Or...what if she warned Kakashi after the fight that Zabuza was still alive..?
These buzzing thoughts were interrupted when she felt the boat harboring in to dock. She tried to pretend he was still unconscious, but a voice said in her ear, "You didn't fool me." She suddenly felt woozy again, and looked up to see a fading duplicating image of...Kakashi!?
"Why do you do that?" asked Sakura, getting off the boat.
"It's best that she doesn't suffer any pain until we can find a health clinic. Her parents must be worried sick about her."
Kakashi gently lifted Aki up from the boat, and continued the journey on foot once more.
"Oh, and I hope you don't mind if my daughter swears eternal hatred upon all of your kind as she lives her life alone!! Well, heck it's not your fault!" said Mr. Tazuna heartily.
Kakashi's visible eye widened with exhaustion.
"Well, I suppose it can't be helped. We'll continue to protect you, at least until you return to your country."
Kakashi secretly thought this was the worst mission- for- hire of all time.
"Gotcha." Replied Mr.Tazuna as he started to walk again.
"There's bound to be another attack," he thought, holding Aki in his arms, "And next time, they won't send Journeymen. We'll probably face upper- level ninjas. Could this get any worse?!"
Aki felt her head bob softly, lying in the crook of a clothed elbow. Blurry images started to come into focus, but she saw a strange patch of grayish white that was hard to make out at first-- It was Kakashi's hair!!
Kakashi wondered why her body grew so warm all of a sudden.
"I can't believe this!" she exclaimed in her mind, "I'm being carried by Hatake Kakashi!! Whoa, wait a minute! Where the hell are we?"
"Please...please don't play around with your shuriken, they can be a teensy bit dangerous." Aki heard Kakashi say.
"Holy shit!!! It can't be up to here?!? Not now!?!" she screamed inside, "This can't be when...Zabuza appears?!"
Kakashi was wondering why there was a hare in its winter coat in the springtime, when he fell Aki move around in his arms. She was curling herself into his chest, shaking with fear. Kakashi would've turned bright pink and had very pervey thoughts if he hadn't heard what she was saying.
"He's coming!" she hissed in terror, "The Demon, he's coming!! Now!!"
Kakashi sensed it, too.
"EVERYONE, TAKE COVER!"he cried, diving for the dirt.
Too blurred to be seen clearly, a large and flat object swung though the air like a helicopter's propeller. Aki heard the sharp edge whine through the breeze it created. Kakashi looked up into the trees with a determined glare on his face.
The butcher sword had sunk halfway through the tree, and standing on its hilt... was Zabuza.
"Well, if it isn't Momochi Zabuza, the kid who ran off and left the land-"
"Of the mists!" whispered Aki to herself as Kakashi said the same thing.
Naruto was about to jump, when Kakashi put his hand in front of him.
"This one is on a different plane from our previous opponents."
Kakashi went for his headband.
"And if I have to face him it better be...like this..."
His fingers were now hooked underneath the headband plate.
"This could get a little rough..." warned Kakashi.
Aki knew where this was going...
