Sydney rolled over, surprised to find herself in her own bed, the last thing she remembered was that she had fallen asleep on the couch while watching Mission: Impossible.
'So how did I get in here?' she asked herself, rolling onto her back to look at the ceiling.
She couldn't remember anything that had happened the night before, not a thing.
Which really worried her.
The feelings she was beginning to harbor for Michael were what scared her the most, they were unpredictable and that was bad, she had always been predictable, and now she felt like taking a risk, doing something unpredictable, not doing the normal, foreseen thing someone would expect her to do.
It was settled, the next chance she got, she would do something random, something she never thought she would ever do.
And she would enjoy the thrill.
She flopped onto her stomach, burying her head in the pillow, she was still really tired, but had already been awake too long to be able to go back to sleep.
Plus, Michael was on her mind, and she didn't think she could close her eyes without his face popping into her mind.
Not that she minded of course, she would never complain about being able to look at him, to watch him, to do anything.
What would she have done if this had never happened? Would she have met Michael in another setting? Would she even know who he was?
The thought of Michael not being around, even though she had only known him for two days pained her, because if it weren't for him, something could have happened to her already.
And she secretly thanked her father for not hiring some 40-something-year- old with a beer gut.
He had always been super protective of her, especially around the guys that she dated, she could still remember when she brought her first date home and her father sat there and interrogated him in their living room.
She never saw that guy again.
But somehow, she sensed Michael was different, in order for Jack to hire him to protect her, he must have already been interrogated. At least once.
With a laugh, she thought about all the guys she had ever brought home, most of them hadn't lasted more than two dates with the interrogations beforehand.
What are your intentions for my daughter?
That was one of the many questions he asked, and if you had ever met Jack Bristow, the look he had on his face when he asked it was enough to scare the wits out of anyone.
But she couldn't complain, they had never had a strong relationship when she was younger, he was gone a lot of the time, but anytime she was going on a date, she could count on him to drop everything he was doing just to be there.
She pushed all thoughts of her father out of her mind, she was still angry at him for not telling her the whole story about what was going on and making her hear it from Michael. But she knew she couldn't stay angry for long, he was her father after all, and he had chosen Michael.
All of a sudden, she remembered something, something that made her heart beat faster and her face to redden.
She caught his gaze, and looked deep into his eyes, practically seeing his soul through his bright, sparkling green eyes.
For minutes they stared into the depths of each other's souls, letting their souls be bared to the other, and slowly Michael inched closer to her, Sydney doing the same.
Closer they came...
Closer...
And closer...
They were a breath away from each other, so close yet still so far. They had known each other for less than a day, and yet it felt as if they had known each other their entire life.
Everything was perfect, well almost everything, they knew what they were doing was probably wrong, that they would most likely regret it later on, but they had to see how it was.
Michael was about ready to close the little distance left between them, there was so little space to cross before they could take the first taste, but everything wasn't perfect.
What exactly would have happened between them had Will not called and interrupted the moment?
That thought alone made Sydney's heart beat even faster and caused her palms to sweat.
What would have happened?

I'd appreciate to know what you think, and just so you know, the chapter you've all been waiting for is chapter 10, which should be up tomorrow.
