"After pondering over this matter in the time I have been given, I
have come to the following conclusion: I am in a different realm. Different
realms have different rules. Back home, there were many strict rules:
gravity, a fixed reality like not being able to fly or not being able to
breathe underwater, for example. Here, some of the rules are the same, like
gravity, but others can be bent. How the body can be used in this place is
a new rule here. Facial expressions, clothing and the face has changed on
me--"
Aki paused in her writing and looked down at her hand. It still had the scaly, dry skin.
"-- but some others have refused to change. Which brings me to a bigger point. If I am in this comic world, does that mean I have free will or is the creator of the comic controlling me? Does this also mean that I have altered the text and scenes in the manga and anime as well? And how do I get out?"
She stopped writing, and now went back to check her manga. Slipping the book out, she flipped through the pages, and found something peculiar and scary. She saw a scene of a girl sitting on the docks, writing. Though the girl was black and white, Aki recognized who the person was. It was her! This was all too much right now. Forget about sleeping anymore. She walked back out onto the docks, and dipped her feet into the water. It always had a calming effect on her whenever she was in turmoil.
Making sure no one was watching, she slipped into the shoreline with only her sports bra and jeans on. It was awhile since she had gone swimming. She remembered the last time was when she and her father went to the local pool, but they stopped going for some reason. She wondered how her family slipped so dramatically as she floated on the surface. Was it her fault? Or was it theirs?
Kakashi woke up to the sounds of soft splashing. He looked in the corner to see that Aki wasn't there. Still drained from the Sharingan, he crept towards the entrance, and looked around the docks to find what where she was.
Aki was busy diving into the water like a dolphin, feeling a brief moment of freedom. She lay flat on the surface again, now bobbing her head to the rhythm of "Straight Ahead" from Chrissie Hynde. She always got a high off of Europop, and listened to it as much as she could.
Kakashi made himself comfortable on the dock planks, and watched Aki. He noticed that her Overcoat and pocket items had been placed aside. Making sure she didn't see him, he lifted up her overcoat, but found nothing.
(Bummer.) he thought (Wonder if she's a size B or C.)
After circling around a few times, she swam back to the docks. She hoisted herself onto the lowest dock, and re- tied her ponytail, flinging off excess water.
"Quite the swimmer for a hurt side." Commented a soft voice.
Aki spun around to face a grinning Kakashi sitting Indian- style the planks. She spun around too fast from surprise, and lost her balance. She fell back into the water, hacking and coughing.
"Forgive me. Did I startle you?" he said, scratching the back of his head sheepishly.
"That's a *cough* bit of an understatement." Replied Aki, wiping her loose hairs out of her face.
"Here, let me help you." he said, offering his hand.
"You sure? I mean, after what happened and all."
"Yes, I am."
Aki grasped his hand, and was amazed to see that he actually could lift out of the water.
"Thanks."
"I've been meaning to ask you some questions, if you don't mind."
Uh- oh. Aki knew it would come to this...
