"Hi Will."
Will continued to jog across the courtyard towards Sydney and Michael, but once he neared them, he stopped, and his brow furrowed.
He wanted to know who she was with and why in the hell were they holding hands?
His eyes flared and his protectiveness towards Sydney came out, why couldn't she just see the way he felt about her? He crossed the rest of the distance between them, his eyes never leaving their interlocked hands.
"So how was your night last night?" Will asked as he caught up to the two of them, his eyes still periodically flicking to their hands.
What he really wanted to ask was who the hell this guy was, but in due time he would get to that question.
Sydney nodded, "It was good, I needed a night just to relax, it seems like everything's been going wrong lately."
Will made it seem as if he knew what she was talking about, when in actuality he had no clue, but as long as she would continue talking to him, he would play along.
An awkward silence possessed the two of them as Michael watched on curiously to gauge the interaction between the two of them.
"So where are you heading?" he inquired, anything to keep her there in front of him and talking.
"I've got psych now," she answered distractedly, trying to do anything to get out of the conversation, "That's where we're headed."
He practically winced at the use of 'we're' -- obviously there was something going on that he was oblivious to, and he stared at Sydney, hoping she would do something to alleviate the tension buzzing through the air.
Michael did the same. He looked at Sydney, hoping she would fix the situation somehow.
"Oh s***!" Sydney exclaimed, smacking her forehead with her hand, "I can't believe I forgot."
Actually she did believe she forgot, because she was hoping Michael and her could say a quick 'hi' to Will and then scurry away. But no such luck.
And now, now she had to introduce them.
"Michael, this is my friend Will, Will this is Michael."
Michael stuck his hand out for Will to shake, which he did, and Michael smiled, "Will, it's nice to finally meet you. I've heard so much about you."
"Really?" Will questioned, "Because that's really funny since I've heard nothing about you."
Sydney blushed, bowed her head and looked down at the ground, shifting from foot to foot uncomfortably.
"Will we'd love to sit here and talk all day, but if we don't leave now, we're gonna be late for class," Sydney said mock-sadly, truthfully they could spend a few minutes talking, but she didn't want to, "We'll talk to you later."
Will nodded, "Maybe all of us and Francie could go out some night."
"Sure," Sydney replied, "Call me."
And then she shuffled Michael away quickly.

Classes went off without a hitch except for the fact that every time Sydney looked over her shoulder she would see Will popping along behind them.
Every time.
Soon enough, they were lounging on a picnic table in the sun just soaking it up.
"Aah, the good life," Sydney murmured happily, it wasn't often that she got to just relax in the sun, actually it had been a few months since she had last done this.
Michael sat up with a smile on his face and surprised her when his lips lightly brushed hers, not that she objected of course.
Then as if nothing had happened, he relaxed in the sun once again, his hand interlocked with Sydney's.
But someone had seen it happening, and they weren't forgetting it anytime soon.
Will shook his head sadly, eyes downcast at the ground, his shoulders slumped and he walked away, defeated, and just barely missing colliding with Francie who walked up to Sydney and Michael and perched on the edge of the table.
"Hi guys!" she chirped cheerfully.
They rolled their heads towards her, their sunglasses covering their eyes, "Hi Fran!"
"What are you two up to?" she asked, pushing her sunglasses up her nose.
"Just relaxing and soaking up the sun," Sydney turned her head up to the sky as if to prove her point, "It's such a nice day out today."
"Well I have another class to get to, I just wanted to stop by and say hi," she looked towards Sydney, "I'll call you tonight, okay?"
"Got it," Sydney answered, "I'll be waiting for your call."
Francie practically skipped off, and Sydney guessed that maybe she had a new boyfriend and that's why she was acting that way, and she laughed quietly.
"What's so funny?" Michael questioned quietly.
Sydney chuckled again, "Just Francie -- I'd say she has a new boyfriend, that's the only reason I can come up with why she's so damn cheerful."
Michael shrugged, "Guess you'll find out when she calls you."
She beamed and lay back down next to him on the table, enjoying for once being able to relax without worrying what anyone thought of her.
He grasped her hand, "Why don't we go do something?"
"Do what?" she asked.
"I don't know," he shrugged again, "Just something."
