Aki was semi-frozen in place; she couldn't move her legs! The lone
Anbu stood up from the ground, holding a rather large kunai in his fist.
"Uh, heh heh, I...uhh, lost my way around here! Yeah, that's it!" She smiled nervously, "Nice...Anbu..!"
{Fear.}
(What was that? Who was talking?)
{You reek of it.}
(Who's that?!)
{Fear is what you make of it. Don't give in!}
Whoever it was, he was right. Many ninjas fell victim to this technique because they panicked. Not this time.
(I am not bound by the jutsu.) she thought strongly.
She could feel the Anbu coming closer.

Closer he came; Aki could feel his very breath upon her.
"I AM NOT BOUND BY THIS JUTSU!!!" The Anbu was startled by what she had said.
Instantly, her legs became under her command again. Seeing this, she ran for it. The fallen Anbu held the dagger awkwardly while he was falling, and Aki cut her abdomen as she ran by, but she didn't care; she was out of here!
She found the office stairs she came down, and went hurtling up them three at a time. She could hear ninjas swarm the stairwell, the zing of flying shuriken and the screech of the kunai, but she didn't care. As she slammed the door shut, hundred of metal weapons were impaled into the door.
Bracing herself, she ran right through the glass window, tumbling down the dome on her side like a log, thanks to the chakra grabbing technique. People ran around in circles in terror and confusion as to what was going on. The two Chuunin were gone from their posts, looking for Aki most likely. She sprang for the back alleyway, and dug her backpack out of the alcove of old bricks.
"Stop! We're taking you to the authority!" Aki turned disdainfully at the two guard Chuunin, the one with the Pocky holding strange handcuffs.
"Thanks, but--" Aki grinned, "I'll take the express home!"
As she said that, a giant white- spotted blue manta ray with toxic yellow eyes rose up from behind her. Its barbed tail was at least ten feet long, poisonous spines lining the backbone of the tail. All around its underside and the eyes were strange black markings and tattoos.
"Let's go!" The blue manta ray slowly flapped its powerful wings, its tail spinning around like it was untwisting a wine cork.
The Pocky guy tried to mount to stingray as it was taking off, but was instead struck in the face hard with the tail, a couple of barbs stuck in the side of his head.
"Here!" Aki tossed down of small leather pouch, "He'll die from the poison if you don't give him this!"
The Pocky guy was already slumped in the dark glasses' guy's arms, frothing at the mouth like a crazed dog and twitching like mad.
The giant manta ray flew off, leaving to chaos of the town behind.
"So, what your name?" Aki had to shout over all of the wind.
"Aoihoshi." The stingray replied in a deep voice.
"That's a beautiful name."
"Are you trying to butter me up?"
"No, I just want to get to know you as a friend."
"Friend?"
"Yeah, you know. Looking out for each other's back, telling stories and so forth."
The stingray kept silent.
"Oh. I didn't know."
"It's all right. You the first person whose ever talked to me as an equal before."
"How many were before me?"
"About a hundred."
"WHOA!! And they never treated you more than a tool?"
The stingray bowed his flat head a little as if to say 'yes'.
"Well, I'm not gonna do that to you, you can be sure of that!" Aki petted Aoihoshi's smooth eyebrow.

"What was that?!"
"It's true! Is going all over the town!"
"What's wrong, Mr. Tazuna?" Sakura walked over to where he and a worker were gossiping about the latest news.
"They say that...a young female renegade as broken in and out of the Academy, and has...nearly killed a Chuunin, but he's alright."
"What?! How was the guy attacked?"
"Stingray poison. VERY venomous stingray poison."
"Where is this person now?"

All of the construction workers ducked for cover as a huge shadow of a stingray flew over the half completed bridge. Sakura tried to get an outline of the person riding on its back, but it was too far out of sight now.
"So, the rumors were true!" Mr. Tazuna tipped his hardhat back to get a better view of the vanishing creature and rider.
Sakura looked on, a bad feeling sickening her stomach every second that passed.

Aoihoshi landed in a small clearing the forest outside of Tazuna's home, bowing his flat head to let Aki off. She slid down his face, making sure her sandals didn't catch against his smooth skin. She turned around, and bowed deeply in front of the stingray, waiting for his reply. She felt his long, thin tail rest on her shoulder, and lifted her chin up without stinging her.
"You're welcome." The stingray bowed his wide head, and in a flurry of blue feathers, he vanished.
Aki sighed contently, feeling accomplished. She started to walk back to Mr. Tazuna's house, when she stopped short.

"What the hell was that?!" Naruto fell back to the ground, his ears keen to that scream he heard.
"I heard it too." Sasuke landed back on the ground without a sound, his eyes focused.
"Whatever it is, we should get Kakashi."
"Yeah, this doesn't sound good."
They ran back to retrieve a just woken- up Kakashi.

"I've been out for only two hours, thirty six minutes and forty two seconds?! What kind of jutsu is that?!" Kakashi found himself back in Tazuna's home, and got out of his futon.
"Oh, you're awake. You took one nasty fall back there." Tsunami combed her fingers through her hair.
"Tsunami, where is--"
"KAKASHI! Come quick!" Naruto was out of breath; Sasuke just leaned against the frame of the door to catch his.
"What is it? What's wrong?"
"Someone...I think it's Aki..."
Naruto didn't need to say anymore; Kakashi was snapped into leader/hero mode.
"Where?! Show me quick!"
The three of them ran out, down the docks and into the trees.

The forest canopies were spinning faster than a cotton candy machine could make its treat. Excruciating pain caromed against her skull and kneaded her muscles. Her skin was on fire and her bones felt brittle. Her throat and abdomen were boiling from pain, blood coming from the dagger wound.
Aki screamed in agony as she pressed her hands to her head to pressure against the pain, but it didn't help at all. She heard voices in her head, screaming insults and making riled comments to her. Darkness took her gaze, creating images of the people she hated deeper than the core of her soul and the cosmos could make up for. She screamed again, this time lunging for Corona, tearing the top of her head off. He stared at the blood on her nails, and as if a demon had taken over, she was possessed with the smell of the blood.

"Kakashi, what's wrong with her?!" Naruto grew fearfully at the murderous sight of Aki trying to attack someone that wasn't there, then sinking to her knees cackling madly.
"She must have come in contact with a water Anbu."
"ANBU?!" Naruto looked shocked while Sasuke tilted his head in silent confusion.
"These Anbu specialize with numerous types of poisons. She must have been cut with an Amentia kunai."
"What are those?!"
"A kunai coated in a hallucinate poison."
"We gotta stop her before she kills anyone, including us!" Naruto went to rush forward, but Kakashi placed a hand in front of him.
"No! She must do this by herself. Her body is trying to fight off the poison. Think of a wishbone. She's at one end and the poison's at the other. It all depends of who gets the winning half. Either the poison'll snap..."
Naruto didn't want to hear this.
"Or she will."
They watched as Aki threw herself against tree trunks violently, blood splattering against the grass blades. Her howls of anguish sent shivers down even Kakashi's spine.

"GET AWAY FROM ME!!!" Aki swung her claws wildly to strike the illusions of Corona and her notorious members such as Shinon, Kutheran and Z' raiya.
All of them played games with her mind and threw terrible notes to her at school, even spit on her!
"It's getting too crowded in here..!" She clutched her head with bloody hands, trying to blot out the voices and images.
They were giving the finger to Aki, circling her as they chanted their words of hate and scorn to her.
"I SAID GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!!!!!"

Kakashi, Naruto and Sasuke dodged against Aki's clumsy attack, Kakashi growing more fearful of his predicted outcome.

Kakashi pulled Naruto out of the way as Aki went to charge for his neck.
"Get out of the way! You'll be killed!"

Aki stood in the middle of bloody and dismembered corpses, blood dripping off of her arms and hair. She slowly looked down at her hands, looking at the crimson rivers that coated her lower arms.
"They're...dead." She whispered to herself, more shocked than awed, "They' re...all dead..."
{Yes. They are.}
"Who's there?!" She spun around to see who spoke.
{It's me.}
"State your position! Friend or Foe?!" This was Aki's realm, so she had the right to ask.
She heard the voice laugh softly.
{I am both and neither.}
Aki saw something flicker within the shadows, moving elusively like a prowling tiger.
"Show yourself!"
A pair of crimson red eyes glowed from the shadows.
{I've been here since the day you were born. I'm you.}
The sudden revelation made Aki stare at the blood on her hands again, then at the dead carcasses that were littered at her feet.
"You did this." Her voice was an incredulous whisper.
The eyes chuckled deeply again.
{No, it was not I. It was you.}
"No, though I wish for it, I would never MURDER anyone!!"
{That's what you conscience says, but what does your memory tell you?}
Aki lost her tongue to that question. The eyes glowed brighter, and now she could make out a gaunt, dragon- like face from the gleam of its hideous eyes.
{Murderer.} The voice let the syllables roll off its forked tongue.
"NEVER!!"
Aki's body froze, as if caught in a mid- seizure. She slowly turned to face Kakashi and the two boys.

Kakashi awaited her response to all of the blood that lay strewed across the grass as though a murder scene had occurred.

Instead of a response, she let out a trail of blood as she fell to the ground. She couldn't breathe, she couldn't see or hear, she couldn't even feel her heart anymore. She began to convulse wildly, choking up blood from her lungs. Voices and light seemed distant to her senses now. Outlines of people and color refused to fit together like unwanted puzzle pieces, and the world she knew spun faster and faster in her maelstrom of mental chaos.
"So," she choked, blood smearing her cheek, "I guess this is death."
Her eyes darkened, and all light was shut out.

Author's Note: Sorry I took so long to get these chapters published! I was at the I- CON convention last weekend (3/26 to 3/28/04), and now I have a total count of TEN posters in my room (including the giant scroll poster of Team 7)! She began to convulse wildly, choking up blood from her lungs. Voices and light seemed distant to her senses now. Outlines of people and color refused to fit together like unwanted puzzle pieces, and the world she knew spun faster and faster in her maelstrom of mental chaos.
"So," she choked, blood smearing her cheek, "I guess this is death."
Her eyes darkened, and all light was shut out.

Author's Note: Sorry I took so long to get these chapters published! I was at the I- CON convention last weekend (3/26 to 3/28/04), and now I have a total count of TEN posters in my room (including the giant scroll poster of Team 7)! I'll have to use me ceiling for any future posters now. I have Naruto- ed up my room, so to speak.
Kaiyuga: Please send more reviews!! Kit's beating me miserably!! And I can't find Kakashi either!!
Kakashi: * Muffled, far away. * Help!
Kaiyuga: * Looks up. * What the--?!
* KakashiLvr has Kakashi hostage on a giant flying spoon. *
Kaiyuga: What- the bloody hell are you doing?!
KakashiLvr: Stealing Kakashi, of course!
Kaiyuga: On a spoon? * Gives the infamous eyebrow. *
KakashiLvr: Uhhh, yeah!
Kaiyuga: Well, not anymore! * Pulls out a giant fork. * En garde!
* KakashiLvr removes Kakashi from the spoon, and starts dueling with Kaiyuga. *
KakashiLvr: You'll never get him; he's mine!!
Kaiyuga: Oh yeah?
KakashiLvr: YEAH!
Kaiyuga: Not anymore!
* Pushes KakashiLvr down the hidden Void of Pocky Supply (which comes in handy when you try to arrest Kit for it.), taking her spoon away.
Kaiyuga: Have fun!
KakashiLvr: * Spiraling down the Void. * We'll.........meeet......agaaaaiinnnnn!....!
Kit: Oy! Who's the weirdo in MY hiding spot?!
* Kaiyuga shrugs. *
Kaiyuga: * Closes Void Door. * Mission accomplished!
* Final Fantasy victory theme plays. *
