"As much as I regret it, I want to go home. This place stretches my brain too far and hard, and I'm amazed that I haven't snapped. My mind has been rattled by this place, but the problem is, I don't know how to get home. I don't know where to even begin! Killing myself won't help, even though it looks plausible. I can't run away; I don't know any other place that I can familiarize with myself. So, to bluntly put it, I'm stuck. Don't know how long, but I'm stuck." Aki closed her journal, not wanting to read the words she wrote down.

She looked up at the star- lit sky again, a hand caressing her cheek.

(Is this what it means to be truly alone?)

She shook her head slowly.

("I'm screaming inside, but nobody pays any attention.")

She remembered hearing that line from a music video, but could it fit her scenario? No, she wasn't totally lost like others were. There was something still for her, but what was it?

Thunder rumbled in the distance. Not wanting go back into the house, she instead headed for the woods to her spot. Water started to fall behind her as she walked.

Kakashi woke to the sound of droplets against the roof. Cracking his neck, he wasn't surprised to see Aki gone. He shook his head, amused.

"The only way you can keep that girl in one spot is to tie her down!" He quietly chuckled to himself.

(I "wonder" where she might be.) He started out towards the forest, making sure there weren't any traps along the way.

The dense trees kept Aki's spot pretty much dry, except for a hole from the thinner leaves in the middle. She was only wearing her jeans, sports bra, and her baggy overcoat. She had her head bowed and her legs crossed, her eyes closed. She had a hand on each knee, holding an object in each. In the right hand was her journal, and in the left was a kunai.

(Freak!)

(Crusty bitch!)

(I don't know what to do with you anymore, Aki. I'm ashamed at you.)

"Aki?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She broke off her concentration, and looked up to see Kakashi at the entrance to her spot.
"Hey."
She dared not make eye contact with him, or else...
"Aki." He sounded demanding.
She looked up with half- opened eyes.
"Tell me the truth."
"I have."
"No, you haven't."
"Yes, I have!"
"You're a terrible liar."
Aki stood up quickly, flinging the kunai into the ground. She gripped her journal tightly.
"If I did, you wouldn't believe me!"
"Try me."
Aki looked like she was going to explode, but instead slowed down and took a deep breath.
"Fine. Fine! I'll tell you." She took another deep breath.
She tried again and again, but her vocal cords simply refused to move.
"Just tell it already!" Kakashi was starting to get impatient.
With her head swimming in guilty thought and Kakashi's reply to fuel the fire, she blurted everything out.
"I come from a different world! I don't belong here! I'm just an angst teenage girl who wanted to commit suicide to relieve the pain of life!" It felt as though someone had removed the weights of bad conscience off her shoulders.
Kakashi just stood there in an awkward position that made Aki uncomfortable.
"Well," she said, sinking back to the grass, "There you have it. The cat's out of the bag."
He delayed in thought, then sighed deeply.
"Aki,"
She brightened a bit. Did he believe her?!
"That is the worst lie I've ever heard!"
She literally fell apart like an old machine. Aki, no matter how strong her feelings toward Kakashi were, wanted to blow him out of the frickin' cosmos! She shot up from the ground, outraged.
"WHAT?!"
"Tell me the truth. The REAL truth this time!"
"I HAVE!"
"No, you were lying again, like you were the last two times."
Aki wanted to bang her head against a tree repeatedly in frustration.
"You want proof?!" Aki walked to the raining hole.
Kakashi stayed silent, and watched; Aki could feel his skepticism emit from his eye. Aki wet her lips, took another deep breath, and stepped into the rain.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kakashi couldn't believe what he saw; it was impossible!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aki's head was bowed down as she revealed the truth to him. The rain that fell on her was unreal. Each droplet that touched her very being instantly changed into a black substance. Ink. But as they fell, they slid off of Aki like oil against water. Rings of black ink slid down her head, hair and body, hitting the ground once again as rain.
"Do you believe me now?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

(She's not using chakra, so how can this be?!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Aki cupped her hands to collect some droplets, ink running through the cracks between her fingers. When her hands were full, she tossed the small puddle of ink at Kakashi, the ink instantly turning back into water.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kakashi felt it splash against his foot. The cogs in his mind were jammed; he didn't know what to say.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ^..^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Say nothing, but know that not everything you hear is either true nor false. Forgive for lying to you before, but I had been honest the second time." She stepped out of the rain.
Kakashi looked shocked at the fact that Aki was completely dry.
(Where does this point to now?) Aki lifted the buried kunai from the ground, and carved out her art symbol on the tree's bark.
Sap bled from the fresh wound in the tree, just as the blood of her dreams seeped out from her mind.
