Forever In Darkness Forever in Night
Chapter E- Enchantment
"Hey Bakura?" Ryou asked, sipping at his tea. Bakura grunted, telling the blind boy he was listening. "Dad comes home tomorrow." Another grunt. "What are you going to tell him?"
Bakura snorted. "I figured I'd just hide in my soul room."
Ryou pouted slightly. "Bakura."
"I know, shut up why don't you." Bakura growled, scaring Ryou into silence. Bakura sighed sadly, not bothering to apologize for snapping at Ryou. He got up and walked towards the living room. Ryou's head snapped towards him, following his foot steeps tell they disappeared onto the soft carpet, leaving the smaller boy helplessly sitting in the kitchen, drinking cold tea.
Ryou sniffed slightly, straining his eyes to see past the blackness. He knew his eyes were open, could feel the air moving across his face and a gentle breeze from an open window hit his eyes. His head began to hurt as he strained his eyes, fighting to see the flowers that he knew were sitting in the window cell, dried and dying.
His head spun and he covered his face with his hands, breathing deeply, then trying again.
A spark of color flashed vaguely, far off in the distance, hardly big enough to see, but Ryou saw it. He stared at the spot where the spark had been, and saw it again. A tiny green flash, showing the out line of a flower, graying at the edges. Ryou shook his head as the spark disappeared, then watched as it flashed again, showing the flower, sparks lingering then falling away. But this time the green was brighter, and there was a touch of blue, small at the stem and longer. Ryou concentrated hard on the blue spark, watching it intently, when it flashed again, he held it in his mind, willing it to be there.
And the blue spark stayed, it stayed after the green had fallen away. Then, the blue began to grow. The blue bubble slightly, swaying like water, but kept inside the confounds of a shape. It swilled, taking the shape of a vase....or water inside a vase. The green flash again, showing the flower stem submerged in blue, slowly filling the vase and spilling over the top. Ryou gasped, and the sparks fill away. He watched as moments later, the sparks came again, a flash, the outline, then gone.
Ryou fixed the green in his mind, taking wonder as it stayed bright in front of his eyes. He willed it to grow, sprout buds, for the buds to open up and sprout their own buds. In the end there were ten of flowers, falling from the vase on vines and spreading down an invisible counter. The whole thing flashed, showing the blue of the vase, the green of the flowers and more. There was brown here and there, then white in the sink, like the blue of the vase, only lighter. He turned his head, trying to take in the rest of the kitchen, and saw, covering spots on the floor, red. It shined like the water, swirling and bubbling, but with a more pure and bright flash. He blinked, and his world became black again. Ryou waited, with baited breath, hoping for the sparks the flashes of light.
They did not come back, blackness was once again his world.
"BAKURA!" Ryou yelled. "BAKURA!"
"WHAT!" Bakura yelled back, voice a furry of anger.
"Please, Bakura, I need you to look at something."
Bakura growled, walking into the kitchen, automatically his eyes snapped to the dark blue vase on counter. It had over flown with water, roses spilled onto the counter by the dozens. He blinked. Those roses had been dead.
"Bakura, look at the flowers? Are they there? Are they dead?"
Slowly Bakura looked at Ryou. "No." He said.
"Bakura, I did that." Ryou whispered. "I saw it and I made it grow. They were dead Bakura, they were dead a week ago, they were dead two days ago and they were to dead three minutes ago."
"You're straining yourself Ryou." Bakura laughed a little, shaken by Ryou's claim. "You should get some sleep."
"Yes." Ryou muttered, rubbing his head and trying to see the flowers. "Sleep."
Bakura sighed and helped Ryou up, half caring him to the stairs. "Wait." Ryou said, looking at the floor. "Bakura? Well you clean that up for me? I think it's a stain." Bakura looked to where Ryou pointed and saw a splash of dried blood. He blinked and looked at his hikira with amazement.
"Yes Ryou. Bed now." He ordered, now fully caring the boy up the stairs to put him to bed.

The next day
"Ryou!!!" Called a voice from the front door. Ryou froze in his room, eyes snapping to where he thought Bakura was. "I'm home!"
"It's your Father." Bakura said from the other side of the room. Ryou turned to the place where his voice had come from.
"Help me down stairs?" Ryou asked Bakura, smiling lightly.
"Fine." Bakura grunted, helping Ryou up under his arm and waiting tell Ryou had caught his balance. Ryou leaned against Bakura, an act that four days ago would have gotten him a bloody nose and locked in the closet. Bakura led Ryou down the hall and paused before walking to the stair well and coming into view of Charles Bakura. Charles had his back to the two teens as Bakura help Ryou down stairs.
"Hey dad." Ryou said weakly, his father turned, smiling, then stared.
"Ryou, umm, who's your friend?"
Bakura was tempted to hide In his soul room, but didn't, He bowed slightly, answering before Ryou could. "Yami-Bakura, sprit of the Millennium Ring." He said, staring through his bangs and lashes, deep voice sending a minor chill down Charles's spine.
He stared for a moment. "You don't say?" He muttered quietly, looking over Bakura. "What have you done to my son?"
Bakura meet Charles gaze before lowering his eyes and allowing Ryou to answer for him. "I'm blind." Ryou whispered sadly.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY SON!!" Charles yelled to Bakura, seeming not to hear Ryou.
Bakura meet his icy glare with his own fiery stare, the stare spoke for it's self, twin flames submerged in twin brow pools. "I blinded him, and I'd do it again." Bakura grinned evilly and felt Ryou cringe and whimper at his side.
Charles scowled and pulled Ryou away from Bakura, or tried to at least. Bakura kept a firm hold on Ryoyo's wrists. Ryou whimpered again, tugging away from Bakura. "Yami, you promised." He whispered, sightless eyes trying to peer into Bakura fiery ones.
Bakura blinked. He stared at Ryou then slowly let go of Ryou's wrist, one- finger-at-a-time. Ryou sighed in relief and hugged his father, letting a now dazed Bakura watch, almost sadly.
When Ryou pulled away from his father, to stand by Bakura, Charles wouldn't let him. "No Ryou!" He yelled, grabbing Ryou's wrist the same as Bakura had. "HE wont hurt you any more, I wont let him!"
"Dad, he promised he would never hurt me again." Ryou said, trying to pull away. "He's my Yami, my dark."
"You believe him? Ryou do you under stand at all about the sprit of the ring?"
"BETTER THANYOU!"
"Ryou, all this time I worried about you, I thought you were depressed, suicidal. I've battled with my self to get you therapy for years. And now I find it was him-always him! When I came home all you're cute, all you bruises, they were from him!" Charles said, desperately. "When I caught the ring, they told me it contained evil, I've know of the sprit all along, how he is the darkness, how he's a killer! Ryou he's hurt you, BLINDED YOU! How can you trust him."
Ryou finally pulled away from Charles, hugging Bakura ((A/N-YOU HENTIA'S! THIS IS A NON-YOUIA (sorry, I love ya all!)))). Bakura patted his back awkwardly. "I trust him because he is my Yami, he has never lied to me, ever! You don't understand, you'll never understand. If you can't trust him, can you trust me at least?" Ryou asked, tears starting to form at the corners of his eyes.
"Ryou-he's a monster." Charles tired again.
Bakura's face twisted into a look of hurt and hate. "I maybe a monster, but darkness is always conquered by light."
"What do you mean you demon!?"
"I am not a demon, I am not a creature of hell. I may be the bloodthirsty creature of darkness, but darkness goes away when shined on by light. Ryou is the light." Bakura said.
"But you are still here." Charles sneered.
"I am here, but I am not."
"Explain your self!" Charles growled.
Bakura smiled, then disappeared. Ryou opened his mouth and said, in Bakura's voice. "I am here, but I am not."
Charles growled. "YOU!"
"It's okay Dad, I let him take over. He can't, won't control me any more." Ryou said, Bakura appearing by his side again.
"I WANT HIM GONE!" Charles yelled.
Bakura bowed, sadly. "I well not stay if you wish it, I well leave."
"Bakura no!" Ryou wined, clinging to his Yami's arm.
Bakura looked down at Ryou, tears actually willing in his eyes. "But your son well never be the same."
"Bakura you can't leave me! Not now, not after your promise, not now." Ryou pleaded. Bakura looked up at Charles.
"What do you wish?"
Charles mouthed, catching sighed of a tear, dripping lonely down Bakura's cheek. He looked at Ryou, who had buried his face in Bakura's arm, crying his heart out. Then sighed, looking down. He shook his head. "I can not deni my son his other half? But on my soul Sprit, if you hurt him-'
"I have promised your son I well do my best, I have promised." Bakura answered. 'And I never break my promises."
Charles nodded slowly. "You can stay."
Ryou hugged Bakura then hugged his father. Bakura quickly disapeared into his sould room. "Where'd he go?" Charles asked quickly.
"To his soul room, he didn't want you to see him crying."
//I was NOT crying//
Ryou laughed. "What?" Charles asked.
"He just told me he wasn't crying." Ryou smiled. "I'm glad you're home Dad."
