"Admit it!" Hiei shouts, as he flings his hand towards her face. She ducks just in time, but she doesn't stop the blow from hitting Mikio. Mikio is knocked across the room, free from her hand and crying. She makes a desperate grab for the child, but she hits the ground, against a rock. Blood sprays across the ground. Tears fall from her eyes as her daughter dies before her. She falls to a heap, miserably crying. "Oh no. I'm so sorry," he says, trying to comfort her. He reaches a hand to her, but she backs away.

"Get out of my sight, you murderer!" These words from her mouth sting at him. He looks down, unable to find words. Mikio has died, as has her husband. Mikio was killed by her step-father. The death takes a great toll on her, as if she knew it would happen, and finds it her fault. She remembers Kurama's words.

Past Tense Yukari's POV

I walked into the room, carrying Mikio in my arms, and he smiled. He was seeing his daughter for the first time. He walked over to me, and there was a sudden crash.

"Yukari! Run, and don't come to find me! Save Mikio and yourself!" he shouted. He pulled me into a quick kiss, then threw me so I would run. But I was frozen. I couldn't move at all. Mikio was crying, and he was waiting for an attack. He had known Karasu would come. He had been warned. That was the night he died in front of me, sliced along his neck. And then, I went to Hiei. He helped with Mikio. But he had hated Kurama because he had me first. He got suspicious, and tried to strike me. I had ducked, but my arms had not moved, and Mikio was thrown from my arms. Hiei had killed her. And he had made sure of Kurama's death! I killed him, cursing myself to be forever, alone...
