Spoilers: This takes place after the season five episode You're Welcome, if you have not seen it, and wish to remain unspoiled, do not read further. If you do, enjoy.
Hey, I wanna crawl out
of my skin
Apologize for all my
sins
All the things I should
have said to you
Hey, I can't make it
go away
Over and over in my brain
again
All the things I should
have said to you
"How you doing Princess?" Doyle said as he stood next to the bed. Nurses and doctors bustled outside, but that didn't matter, everything seemed still in the Los Angeles hospital bed. Cordelia lay there, silent, as the machines that surrounded her beeped. The visions had taken their toll; she seemed older then, not wrinkly, but wiser.
He had heard that she had become part demon in order to keep them. His heart swelled in pride as he realized exactly what that meant. His smile fell, would she accept him now, after what he had done? Leaning down, he brushed his lips over her still lips. "What do you say about one more day?" he asked as he stepped back. She gasped, sitting up. Doyle was gone.

"One for the road," Cordelia said as she walked down the hallway. She looked around. Doors, doors, and more doors. "Typical," she muttered. "Lots of doors and lots of white marble. Didn't I see a movie like this?"
"Probably."
Cordelia turned around to see a man leaning against one of the doors. "Doyle," she breathed. He grinned and nodded.
" How did you like the one last spin?" he asked as she walked toward him.
She sighed, rolling her eyes. "One for the road," she repeated. She smiled. "I got my guy back on track." Sighing once more, she pushed the emotions away. "I did what I had to. How have you been?"
"Bored, and wishing for a whiskey."
Cordelia grinned. "Same old Doyle. Short, drunk, and badly dressed."
Hey, I'll take this day
by day by day
Under the covers I'm
okay I guess

"How do you do it?" Cordelia asked as they walked along the path. They were just now rounding a pond in the garden of…something.
Doyle squeezed her had. "Take it day by day by day."
The two stopped under a willow tree and Cordelia looked at him. "Do you love me?" she asked. "Were we in love?"
Doyle looked at her, after a moment, he nodded. "I was in love with you from the moment I laid eyes on you." He chuckled. "You wouldn't give me the time of day." The man looked thoughtful. "I'm sorry you know."
It was Cordelia's turn to look at him. "For?" she asked, confused.
"The visions Princess. I knew I should have told you…" he would have gone on, but Cordelia put a finger to his lips.
"Cut the crap. I love, loved, those visions. They may have hurt like a bitch, but they were mine. If you want to moan and groan about them, I'm leaving."
Doyle laughed. "That's why I love you Princess," and they kissed.
