How can you not smile when the rest of the world is laughing? Why do you always have to be the one to sport a frown? Is it really that hard to get you to laugh? Or are you just trying to get us down?
How do you not become lonely, locked up all by yourself? Won't you come down and join us? Or will you stay up on your shelf?
We're waiting here for you. Oh won't you just come down? Will you come and join us? Or will you sit there, sporting a frown?
Loneliness is contagious, and you're spreading it around. It will continue spreading, but only until you come down.
Here we sit in our lonely town, That's only lonely because of you. And yet, when you could help us, You're being lonely to.
Oh, couldn't you just come down from your shelf, To help us not become lonely, like yourself? Then after you cure us, We could cure you, and end this fuss.
