Sorry about the short wait but Easter was weird with people over my house who I haven't seen for a while and I finally got the chance to post so... yeah here it is.

Oh! Thanx for the great reviews so far! Sorry for the confusion but there are two kids. TWO kids are present in the family.

. . .

*Ding Dong*

"Jacklyn! Your boy-toy's here!"

With that wonderful opening comment, the youngest of the Brown family flung the door open to a brown haired, blue-eyed boy standing on their stairs slowly shifting from foot to foot. A relieved grin broke out on his face when he saw that the pig-tailed 12-year old had gotten the door.

"Hello. You must be-"

"Is that a motorcycle?"

"Yeah... Why?"

"Ooh, Dad's just gonna love you."

She jumped suddenly as a hand closed over her shoulder.

"Hi Dad! Look who's here!"

"Oh... it's you."

"Um, hello Mr. Brown."

"Yeah, sure. Well, get in already."

"I'm Jer-"

"Jeremy. I know."

Ephram stood in the doorway after letting him in, and Jeremy made his way over to the farthest spot he could get from his girlfriend's father while still being in the same room.

As the two men stared at each other, one glaring menacingly and the other starting to want to run away, the young Jacklyn calmly made her entrance down the stairway.

"Back off Dad. Hi Jeremy! I can't believe you're here!"

She rushed over to greet him in her customary leap and kiss, but was suddenly very aware of her father's presence.

They cautiously leaned in for a quick hug and chast kiss while under the close watch of Mr. Brown.

"Ahem. Why don't you and... Jeremy, go to the living room?"

"Sure thing, Dad. Come on Jeremy."

She led the nervous guy into the next room.

"Emma."

"What, Dad?"

"Follow them. Extra points if you scare him away."

"Really?"

"Yes, now hurry up."

"Alright!"

The youngest of the Brown's bounded through the doorway after the teens with a mischievous look on her face.

"God help me, what am I going to do with that little-"

"Ephram, you haven't even had a full conversation with him yet. I thought we agreed that you couldn't hate him until he leaves."

"But Madison, I did try! He's just so..."

"Don't think I couldn't hear you. You're wonderful first words were 'Oh...it's you.'. I can totally see how he insulted you so profoundly that you just had to hate him."

"But Madison-"

"Nope. No way are you getting out of this or pinning it on that boy."

"...Fine. You win."

"Darn right I do."

*Ding Dong*

They both turned to the door as the doorbell rang for the second time that night, and a blur with pig-tails brushed past them to get the door.

"Gampa Andy!"

"Hey there rascal! You've gotten taller since I last saw you!"

"Gampa! That was yesterday!"

"You must be an astounding growth experiment. How's that special formula been working on her, Madison? Not having any side-affects? Nausea? Hives? Boils? Three arms?"

"Gampa! Stop teasing!"

"Of course Emma. Never would have thought of it. Won't happen again."

"Well... okay then. Are you here to meet The Jeremy?"

"The Jeremy? Questions I could ask. I can't just visit my two favorite nieces?"

"We're your only nieces!"

"Sssh..." He glanced both ways very furtively, "Don't tell Jackie."

"Gampa, I think I found out a while ago."

The girl he'd just mentioned was standing by the door and chuckling at her sister and grandfather's antics.

"Oh, darn. Who ratted me out?"

"I think the fact that Mom's an only child and Dad only has Auntie Delia who isn't married and doesn't have any children might have tipped me off."

A very bewildered father glanced between the two girls and his father trying to figure out what they had originally started out talking about.

"How did you three even get on this topic? I was here the whole time and still don't get it!"

"Ephram, I don't think either of us will ever get it. Don't worry. Jeremy looks just as confused as you do."

All the adults looked up behind Jacklyn to see the boy standing in the doorway with a perplexed expression, which rapidly changed to that of fright as both Mr. Browns glared at him.

Madison and Jacklyn looked at the two men standing side by side with identical looks on their faces and couldn't help but laugh at the comical sight.

"Oh, you two! Come on. Dinner's ready."

Madison led her children over to the dining room and was followed closely by Jeremy.

The glowering men tracked Jeremy as he edged around the edge of the room attempting and, luckily, succeeding at his escape. The two were left scowling at the door of which he had just exited.

After a moment Ephram looked over to his father

"Dad?"

"I don't like him either."

"Maybe it's just us."

They both looked at each other for a second.

"Nah."

They glanced back at the dining room door which held enclosed the little... errgh that was trying to take away, for one, his baby girl and, for the other, his first grand daughter.

"Come on Ephram, let's get this over with."
