Midnight talk
It's night. Kevin is at the Girardi' s TV room watching some program and
eating popcorn. He has a bored look. Joan arrives in her pink PJ' s ( refer
to "No Bad Guy" ) and an ice- cream carton. She sits at the sofa by Kevin.
J: Where's the rest?
K: Mum and dad went to a married-couple date. Luke went to the movies with
Glynis.
J: We are the pity party, then...
K: So it seems.
J: What about Rebecca?
K: She dumped me.
J: Why?
K: Let's just say that I screwed up.
J: Another girl?
K: Yeah.. ( Refer to "Double Dutch")
J: Who is she?
K: A girl that I met, nothing special.
J: Why did you do it then?
K: Just my stupid 19-year-old self. I wanted to be normal again, you know?
J; I don't like this "normal you" ( Amber actually does the air quotes).
K: Why?
J: You were a real jerk when it came to girls. You used to go out with two
or three at the same time...not very nice.
K: Yeah...I know. But I wasn't really going out with Rebecca. There were no
titles.
J: All the same. It's hard to like someone that is with someone else. ( Her
voice is very faint at this point)
Kevin hugs her and gives a kiss on her temple. Fade out. End of scene.
