Kate Todd could feel the strong calloused hands grip tightly around her neck from behind. She gasped for breath as his muscular fingertips dug deeper into her flawless skin. Her breaths became ragged as she squirmed, trying to get away. She felt her captor's warm breath against her neck, and she knew he was grinning as his grip got tighter.
"Come on Agent Gibbs, you know you're the only one who can save her." The Navy Seal said as he used the chocking agent as a shield.
Kate's brown eyes pleaded for help with Gibbs' blue eyes. Her vision started to become foggy as her eyes slowly rolled up into her head. She opened her mouth, almost as if the air would enter her lungs on its own. She could feel her final moments were upon her, so she made one last dramatic defense by scraping her long nails down the hands around her neck. She could feel him try to counter her attacks. As her conscious slipped away, she could hear the sound of a gun firing in the distance towards her.
As the darkness seeped into her world, Kate could feel as if something was wrong. As the black faded into light, she felt a nagging feeling, beckoning her to turn around. She tried to ignore it as she stared at the marvelous white light that seems to move closer to her. As she got closer to it, she could feel the warmth engulf her cold body, flowing everywhere, except for one place, her heart. She stopped as her heart continually reminded her of something. She wasn't sure what her it was trying to tell her, but in the distance she could hear her name being called. She turned and faced the light, pleading with it to let her go. She felt its grip loosen around her, letting her slowly step away. As she walked back into the darkness, she could hear her name being called get louder. A burning sensation seeped into her lungs as she gasped for air. She fought against the darkness as it took over her body, leaving her feeling empty and cold. She strained against the heavy darkness that rested against her chest, making one last attempt to break its bond.
Kate's eyes burst open as she deeply inhaled the air around her. Her eyes burned as the light broke through the darkness. She tried to sit up, but was quickly pushed down. She gasped for air as a hand brushed away her bangs from her eyes, revealing a worn blue eyed man with silvery hair.
"Come on Kate," he said as he moved his hands away from her face, and scooped her up into his arms. "Let's get you some help." Her arms felt heavy as she moved them around his neck, while her eyes drooped lower. She could feel his heart beating against her body. She mirrored her pacing breaths to his heart beats as she buried her head into his warm chest, and closed her eyes. She could feel his breath in her ear as he whispered, "Don't you ever scare me like that again, Katie."
