~ "Why do you think that much of him?!"
"That is because Eiri-san is the person I love most in this world" ~

Tohma let out an exasperating sigh as he leaned back in his chair from having finished all work concerning Yuki's desire to go back to New York. The only lights in the room were those of the city outside shining over where the blond keyboardist sat in the darkness at his desk as if they were moonlight.

Throughout the night his own words had been haunting him ever since they had left his mouth the day when he had confronted Aizuwa for laying his hands on Yuki.

He leaned back onto his desk, his forehead resting in both hands with his eyes closed. Memory of what the author had told him that same day repeated in his mind like a broken tape, playing bit by bit and skipping scenes.

"Eiri-san . . ."

~"I told him about my past."~

"So Shindou-san has truly become that important to you?" thought the troubled keyboardist as turned his chair around to look outside at the bright city lights shining and illuminating his dark office.

~"I don't want to be special to anyone again."~

Tohma let out a sorrowful smile as his mind wandered through everything he had gone through with Yuki.

"But it's been too late to say that, ever since you've had Shindou-san, ne?" muttered Tohma. "And you've always been important to me," he added quietly as he felt something cool slip out of the corner of his eye and trickle down his face.

"I wanted to make up for the terrible mistake I made in taking you to New York. I wanted to be the sun of your world to light your way from the darkness of your past." Tohma wrapped his arms around himself as if he were cold.

"And sometimes, I wanted to be the one to be in your arms. I wanted you to be the one holding me when I was troubled. For once, I wanted to know how the warmth of your arms felt." More cool droplets escaped his eyes and rolled down his pale cheeks.

"But most of all, all I truly wish and always have wished for . . . is your happiness"

He looked up into the starless dark sky, making the trail of tears glisten in the light. "Yet no matter what I did to make you happy, I only seemed to be hurting you more and more." Tohma leaned his head on his hand as the trickle soon turned into a flood.

"First it was Kitazawa-san. Then, I made another mistake in trying to help Mika-san in getting Shindou-san to reunite you with your family. After that was the entire affair with Shindou-san. And now, I wonder if sending you to New York is truly what you want." Trails of tears glistened in the light as memories flashed back again like a film playing in his mind.

"It's all my fault," he cried just as he had done when he had found Yuki with a gun in his hand and the lifeless body of Kitazawa lying in front of him.

"It's all my fault because . . ." He coughed before he repeated as he stuttered,

"Because . . ."

His bangs fell over his eyes as a smile formed on his lips.

"Because I love you, Eiri-san . . . "
