Andy's Trumpet

I had enough today, I stood by his side and defended him.
Shannon constantly telling him he doesn't deserve it.
The boys to the left of us are always mumbling why he got the nice one.
They may not see the money he saves by buying one, not two.
But I do.

His teacher might have told him to wait a year,
But why buy a trumpet to only put it away to get a new one?
You should pick one that fits you best.

She tells him to use the school one,
He tells her it sucks,
She tells him the instrument doesn't suck,
It's the person playing it.

I disagreed,
That's where I had enough,
I stood tall and told her that a musician would "suck" if they used an
instrument that was not good for them.
She disagreed.
I explained.
She walked off mad.

I think that the whole Andy has a nice instrument and I don't conversation
is over.
He does deserve it,
It's not a treat Shannon it's a purchase that he made.
It's what makes him play better.
