The Ambush
Looking up from the datacube, Alex looked at the clock on the wall. The ambush was starting any minute now. The target being the Omar. Grabbing his SMG, Alex Denton, clone brother of JC Denton, ran. Kicking open the door, he dived past a squad of Templars, all intent on killing him because of his Nano infusions. Most of them were dead intstantly, dead with their beliefs to the end. Alex had learnt the hard way that there was no other way to get by them. He'd even saved one's life, only to be shot at. Purity indeed. Was that what they called murder of 10 year olds? Not everyone has a choice over whether or not they get Nano infusions. Rushing into an ally, Alex leapt onto a balcony and dashed into the building. The occupants got out of his way, fearfully. He went to another window and looked out. There, on the roof, across the street, was a Templar sniper. Opening the window, Alex leapt out. Catching a hold on the opposite roof, and climbed up. From where he stood, Alex could see most of the snipers, some rocket troopers and even a few power suit personnel. Down below, Alex could see three Omar protectors, the Omar trader and Leo.
"Your pulling off a lot of resources for such a small group." Alex said to the Sniper he'd first spotted.
In response, the sniper pulled his rifle out and pointed it at him, before realising he had an energy blade stuck in his stomach. He dropped down, dead. Pulling the blade from it's perch, Alex pushed the body to the street below. The corpse landed in front of the Omar group, atrracting their attention. The body started decomposing, the leech life bio mod giving energy back to Alex. Several of the Paladins tried to be smart and fired rockets at him, only to have the rockets blow up in their faces, thanks to the aggresive defence drone. About half of the Templars dead from the resulting explosion, they were a little more cautious about their greatest foe. Looking back at the street, Alex saw the Omar and Leo had drawn their weapons and were looking at the roof for a target. he could also see the remains of the earlier squad coming towards them.
"Hey Leo, down the street!" He yelled.
The Omar group looked at the upcoming squad and opened fire. Alex shot his SMG at the snipers that had finally plucked up the courage to open fire at him. Afterwards, a few tried to escape, but were mowed down by the military bot Alex had used Bot Domination on earlier. Leaping down from the roof, he helped the Omar dispatch the remainder of the Paladins. Alex knew that he had saved his friends, and that never would ever stop him from helping them if they were ever in trouble.
