Relena's Poem

Here I am
Full of anxiety
Deafened by the silence
As he stares at me
His gun
Aimed at my heart
Ready to complete
A seemingly inevitable mission
I stare at the ground
Ready for death
But it doesn't come
I look into his eyes
Searching for his reason
But they only harden
Into black cold glaciers
His grip tightens
Threatening me
My body flowing with fear
He pulls the trigger
And my eyes clench shut
Yet no pain comes
I slowly peal them open
And gasp at his proximity
His sudden move
Throws me off guard
As he now stands
At a mere arm's length
His arm pulled back
I flinch in fear and sadness
Thinking this is the painful end
A tear trails down my cheek
I await his blow
Yet instead it's his soft touch
Before I could glance up
His arms envelop me
Protecting me
Like a dove's wings during war
I pull back
My eyes questioning
His soft and comforting
As a smile slowly spreads
On his warm lips
"No more blood."
