Visionless Prejudice
The Professor and Storm quietly got out of the X-Jet quietly. It felt like they failed. He grimaced at the thought that it was his fault. The house was unusually quiet, not screams or shouts or yells. The Mansion stood as quiet as it did his childhood. This was interesting, he quietly jested to himself. It was not often things were quiet, especially with Kurt, Kitty, Bobby, Logan, and the New Mutants. Logan awaited Charles and Ororo were coming down the ramp. "Hello Logan, I trust miss Mahn came here without trouble."

"Depends on how you define trouble," Logan smiled to himself.

"Understood, how was Gambit on the trip?"

"He was alright, he acted like a total professional. Kinda shocked me."

"All will be answered shortly, now, down to business. Did Sean and his daughter arrive safely?"

"They're fine, why did ya invite Irish back?" Logan asked.

The Professor sighed and looked back in his friend's eyes. "I believe we're going to need all the help we can get." * * *

The Danger room was as silent and still as ever. The walls were a light blue/gray like every thing else. The only thing that was different was at the very top stood was the control room/view box. All of the X-Men sat in the box, with the exemption of Kurt. Kurt was taking the test. If he passes, he'll become a full-fledged X-Man, like Scott or Logan. If he does it, he'll be able to stop tragedies like the murder of the mutant girl. They learned a lot about the Murder. * * * Her name was Sarah Burgess, and she had the most compelling and beautiful powers anyone could ask for, the power to heal others. Her mother worked in the hospital and she spent her time helping sick children. She was in the pediatric ward when someone caught her eye. A six-year-old little boy who had contracted AIDS. The boy himself was a mangle of bruises, broken bones and contusions. She wasn't stupid; it was obvious how he got it.

She placed both hands on his chest and concentrated hard. A bright yellow light, said by one eyewitness, came from her hands eyes. The bones began to knit themselves together as the bruises started to disappear, as if they were drowning in his healing skin. Then she was done; she turned and saw half the hospital staff. She hasn't returned since. The murderer was eighteen-year-old Alan Gilsfried; he was in the hospital to visit his younger sister. He was the one who put her there, yet with your father's money at your disposal you could get away with anything.

He went in to secure what was "supposed" to happen the previous night. It was then he saw it, the bright yellow light. He was shocked to see this little girl begin to heal a small boy. He realized one thing, she's definitely one of those mutant freaks. He was the one who called the hospital staff. But when they saw what she really did, they just told her to go home. It could've been a worse, a lot worse they thought to themselves what they didn't realize was they were right.

Alan followed her all the way down and out of the hospital. It was dark enough so no one can see. He saw her turn the corner and down the alley, and that was when he picked up the pipe. * * *

"Elf, you ready?"

Kurt snapped his eyes open, he realized he was daydreaming again. "Ja, vhat's the
Scenario?"

"None, just a goal." Logan answered back.

That's easy enough, Kurt thought in his head.

"Without portin'!"

"Come again?" now he was scared.

"Pick up thirty-six flags in three and a half minutes then hit the
panic button, the minute you teleport the simulation shuts down," this
was going to be fun thought Logan.

(When you're ready, Good luck Nightcrawler.)

Kurt hunched down, ready to leap at a moments notice, "GO!" That's
when things began to go awry. Laser blasts, saw blades, walls, floor
shifts, every thing was at Wolverine's disposal; and he was going to use
them all.
******************************************************************
"Missiles, probe droids, everything was going for him, he gathered
seventeen flags he had seventeen with two minutes to go and two minutes
to go. He's making great time, or so he thought.

"Hey, Blue's doing great!" shouted Tabitha. Every one was sat in the
view box, watching and waiting. The marveled as Kurt dodged and weaved
through Logan's toys and Logan himself was getting very frustrated.

"I got five bucks he fails," Bobby chimed in.

"Twenty," Warren and Ray chimed in.

"I'll take that bet," Longshot piped in. Everyone turned to Longshot.
His manner and whole outlook changed since he escaped to the Mansion. He
even got a new change of clothes, after Kitty's shopping trip. He still
has shivers from that day. He tied his hair into a ponytail, stood up
from his chair and spoke out. "You gotta do everyone's chores... in maid's
outfits.

There was an uncomfortable silence, Angel, Berserker, Iceman looked at
each other timidly. Warren's pride was on the line, if he loses this, no
one's going to forget it. Nor let him live it down. "Okay, deal." They
shook hands, but Longshot smirked, they didn't know his special skill.
They all turned to Nightcrawler, who was fighting for his likelihood.

Kurt had thirty seconds to get five flags. He flipped to the wall and
nabbed the flag, then vaulted to the ground to get the other.

Twenty Seconds...

False winds, oil slicks, and smog were used to impede Kurt's path yet he
grabbed two more. Now he darted for the last one, by the panic button.

Ten Seconds...

This is it, the last hurrah, now he was full tilt towards the Panic button. Logan wasn't giving him any slack. His muscles ached in places he didn't even think he had. His lungs and heart felt like asbestos and he felt like his insides were going to rip right out of him.

Kurt didn't even reach for the flag instead he caught it with his tail effortlessly.

Five Seconds...

Kurt crunched down and gave it all he had left in one, fantastic leap.

Four...

"C'mon, little farther."

Three...

"GRAAAAAHHHHH"

Two...

On... RRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGG

Kurt slammed the Panic button as hard as he could in that leap. He looked up in his sweat-slicked face. The downside with fur, it made the heat unbearable. Did I make it? He wondered, what happened. He watched as the clock came down slowly. He was anticipating this...

Every one in the view box was on edge, they saw Kurt hit the button, but did time run out? "Like, what was his time?" Kitty asked. Logan was frustrated, but from what; Logan losing to Kurt or Kurt losing?

"C'mon man, don't leave us in suspense!"

"Alright already!!" Logan snapped back. He punched a few keys and the Elf's time popped up.

"WWWWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Kurt was ecstatic, he would have jumped, but his body wouldn't allow it. He just fell flat on the Danger Room floor, and darkness overtook him.
