She knew all about the mirror. It had been there since the beginning. According to Hogwarts: A History, as long as Hogwarts had existed, so had the mirror.
Hermione stared at the glass, an odd emotion filling her. Not quite shock. Not quite disbelief. Not quite horror. A faint click broke the silence in the windowless room. Hermione jumped. There he stood, hand still resting on the door handle. Lank hair, pallid skin, glistening black eyes.
Just like in the mirror.
He looked taken aback upon seeing her there, but recovered quickly. "Good Evening Ms. Granger," the potions master sneered.
