He didn't have very many friends.
One day he went to the zoo,
And set free a snake with two ends.
It hissed a lot and then ran away,
Despite its lack of legs.
Dudley got a new hamburger,
'Coz his old one didn't have big enough eggs.
Some letters came for Harry,
He really didn't know why.
They were delivered strangely by owls.
Which flew down from the sky.
Harry didn't get his letters,
His Uncle was not being very nice.
He took them to a shack on a rock,
Where Harry's fingers felt like ice.
A banging on the door pushed it over,
A really really really really big man walked through.
Harry found out the truth,
He asked why he hadn't been told before and his Aunt and Uncle explained
their actions in a very roundabout and nonsensical way that basically meant
'because we don't like you.'
Harry went to his new school when it started,
And met some people on the train.
At school he was sorted into Gryffindor,
When a hat obviously on drugs read his brain.
Ron had red hair and freckles,
Hermione in a book she would always immerse.
Draco was the resident bad guy (who everyone secretly loves, because he's
hot),
There's no one else interesting, let's start a new verse.
On Halloween there was some action,
Professor Quirrell fainted 'coz of a troll.
Harry and friend Ron rescued newfound friend Hermione,
Who they previously thought was droll.
The trio had some more adventures,
They thought they were really tough.
Lots of plot twists led to a dangerous climax,
And Harry needed to find out some stuff.
The ending was obvious,
To Harry it was not: he was wrong.
It wasn't the bad guy he thought it was it was a different bad guy who
Harry previously thought was good but actually turned out not to be.
Do you think that last line was too long?
Harry saved the day,
And got a big head.
Dumbledore boasted a bit,
But to allow for a sequel the main bad guy was not dead.
But Harry didn't really care,
He was famous and actually had a friend.
It was the end of the year so he went home, (because without diabolical
plots to unravel there would be no storyline and so the characters are
unable to work out anything no matter how blatantly obvious it is until the
end of the school year. And breathe.)
