Authors Note: Ok! So I have decided to come back and finish this lovely story! I haven't seen Gundam Wing a VERY long time but I will do my best to jog my memory of all these characters and how they kinda worked out on the show. Also I have revised the story to be a litter more mature because that was my intention from the beginning but I was a little too young and inexperienced to know what I was writing about. Here you go I hope you all fall in love with this story!
A young woman in her teens was walking up the steps of the Lexmark Preparatory High School, with a bag at each hand she felt that with every step she climbed she was becoming more and more homesick.
"Come on Aurora, stop being such a baby!" She mentally kicked herself as she tried to swallow the tears that threatened to climb up her blue eyes.
Aurora was coming all the way from Boston to California where the school she had gotten a random scholarship to was located. She had left behind all her friends and family to come here. Actually just one family member, her mother. Growing up it was just her and her mom. She didn't know where her dad was nor did she care to know him. Aurora and her mom had such strong bond she didn't feel the emptiness of a father figure there. He never showed up in her life and her mom never spoke of him and that was that as far as she was concerned.
Once she had reach the top of the steps, she saw just how big this school was. It looked like a palace! As she had walked up she had seen the flowers and the deep green grass but she wasn't prepared for the top where there was a bridge over a small stream with fish swimming in it. There was also a huge fountain where she could see some students sitting at trying to study or chatting. She saw other students sitting on the grass underneath the shade of trees that seemed to be perfectly placed everywhere they were.
Aurora put down her bags and brushed her black bangs away from her eyes as she reached the instructions for school. She was wearing pale blue jeans, a white tank top and simple white sneakers. The jeans and the top hugged her curves in just the right places, getting the attention from the surrounding students, especially the male ones. She tried to ignore all the eyes that were watching her.
"Excuse me, do you need help?"
Aurora looked up at the face whom the masculine voice belonged to. She met a pair of very kind blue eyes, she examined his face and found that he was also very handsome, tan, with sandy blonde hair. She cleared her throat and smiled at him.
"I do actually, I'm not sure which building to go to. This place is a lot bigger than I ever thought.." she trailed off looking around at the school grounds again.
He took one of her bags and gave her a grin. "Follow me, I'll take you to where you need to go. I'm Quatre by the way. You new?" he took out his hand for her to shake. She took it and grinned at him.
"I'm Aurora and yes I am." She followed him through the building that was straight ahead. As entered through the doors she could see how the inside was even more elegant than the outside. The walls were covered with trophies and pictures of the achievements of the former and current students of the school. She could feel the thickness of the dark red carpet underneath her feet. She felt like she was in a museum, not wanting to break anything expensive as they walked a few flight of stairs.
Suddenly she felt so out of place there. She knew about this school, how prestigious it was and not to say expensive...How did her mo-
"Oh," said Quatre. "You from California?" Quatre's cheerful voice cut through her thoughts. She could see that this boy she just met was very polite apart from handsome.
"No, I'm actually from Boston." she could see they were now walking down a corridor with the pictures of many old men, each with the serious solem face.
"Here we are! This is the headmaster's office." She hadn't realized they arrived at the destination. He handed her back the piece of paper and put the bag down for her. He looked at her a little confused and then back at the headmaster's door.
"What's up?" Asked Aurora, "Whats with the confused face?" she saw how he looked at the door and then back at her.
"No, it's nothing, its just no one ever really meets with the headmaster first, you know." he said with a sheepish look. "Well, listen nice to meet you Aurora, I have to get back to class, hopefully I'll see you around. Good luck!"
"Thanks!" she called after him. She looked at the giant oak wood double doors in front of her. She looked around the hallways before walking up to it. To her right she saw it. The lastpicture of the headmasters. This one was different though, he was much younger than the grandpa looking men on the other pictures.
Zechs Marquise. He was very handsome, his hair practically all white, his eyes a clear blue sea but they looked so sad to her. She stepped closer to the picture. There was something about him that Aurora couldn't put her finger on, something familiar to her. She was about to touch the picture, when she heard a door open, looking over she looked into the eyes the man in the picture.
Zechs stood tall wearing a simple black suit with a black tie to match. His presence alone demanded respect. He had one hand on the door knob and the other by his side. He was surprised to find that young woman he was searching for was already outside his office and looking at his picture. He smiled at her and motioned her to come in.
"You must be Aurora Alvarado." he stated while she walked past him.
"Yes, sir that's me." she turned around to shake his hand. He looked down at it for a second. He took her hand with both of his and smiled at her. She looked up at his face, he was more handsome than his picture but his eyes didn't seem as sad, if anything they seemed happy and excited? To see her? No way. She didn't even know him.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you." he said with a slight smile on his face, looking into her eyes. She looked back into his, she was surprised by the way he held her hand. She didn't feel creeped out by him though. She broke free from his gaze and took her hand back.
"Please, Auroa have a seat," he walked over to his desk to sit down himself. "I would like to welcome you to Lexmark. I hope you will see it as your new home. I'm Headmaster Zechs Marquise. We're privileged to have such an excellent student like you here with us. We have a variety of different classes and you will be attending to each. Classes begin at 7:20 AM to 3:40 PM, except Fridays, classes end at 2 PM. After the classes end what you do with your spare time is up to you. The school's doors close at 9:30 PM and you must be in your room by 10:00 PM. There are no classes over the weekend. We expect that you will act properly and respectfully towards your classmates and professors. There is a dress code and conduct code you will find them both in your room along with your uniform. Any questions so far?"
She shook her head. "Everything seems simple enough, sir."
"If you need anything you can always come to me or any other of the staff. Your room number is 301, here are your keys." he replied handing her a small envelope.
"In that envelope is your class schedule and the keys to your room. Once you've changed to your uniform please come back here and I'll take you to your first class."
"Thank you very much, sir" she said standing up to leave.
"You're welcome, Aurora. It's a little late for you to go to class today but come back I will show you around the school."
She nodded her head and walked out of his office, gathered her belongings and headed down the stairs to find the main office to go to her room.
As Quatre was coming down the stairs he groaned when he saw his good friend, Duo Maxwell, waiting for him at the end of the stairs.
"Where is she Quatre?" he asked looking around behind his blonde friend.
"How did you already catch her scent? She hasn't even been here for 10 minutes!" Quatre said, he knew Duo oh so well. Duo was the kind of guy to love them and leave them. Quatre didn't know many girls who could resist his handsome friend. He hand a slender build but very toned muscles, cobalt blue eyes that he hand seen many of his female peers get lost in and his final feature was a long but neat braid that went down his back.
"She wasn't hard to miss coming up those steps. So?" said Duo crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"No, she wasn't and if you must know she is with the headmaster." replied Quatre reaching his friend at the bottom of the steps.
"The headmaster? That's weird. First person you see here is Miss Une." he said pondering that a moment, then a devilish grin came to his face. "Maybe she's a bad girl and half the job is already done for me."
Quatre shook his head. "You know, someday, when you're looking at a girl's breasts you maybe be surprised to find a face belonging to those." He grabbed Duo by the shoulder and began to walk him towards his next class.
"I know there's a face! There's something there that gets the job done too!" he said raising his eyebrows at his friend.
"Ok. Duo. Ok" he sighed. "One day you are going to fall so hard, you won't know what hit you."
"God forbid such a thing!" he said holding his chest. "Now lets hurry! We're going to be late!"
As they walked into the classroom they saw their group of friends chatting.
"Have you guys seen the newest student that came today?" asked Relena Peacecraft taking a seat next to her boyfriend Heero Yuy. Relena was brought to Lexmark since she was a Freshman. She had long blonde hair and beautiful blue eyes.
"No, but a lot of people did when she arrived." Replied her friend Hilde. She had short black hair and big deep green eyes. Those green eyes stared up at Duo longingly as he walked through the door.
"What are you gossiping about now ladies?" asked Duo taking a seat and putting his feet up at the desk.
"About the new girl." replied Hilde grinning at Duo.
"Oh" he replied. "I've seen her." he said stretching and yawning. Both girls looked at him shocked.
"How did you already see her?!" they both exclaimed. "She just got here!" exclaimed Relena. Hilde began to laugh. She knew Duo, he was playboy. They were friends with benefits. She really had a thing for him. They way she saw it he never went back to the other girls but he would always go back to her, it wouldn't be long until he would finally feel for her they way she felt for him. So this new girl he's looking for isn't going to be a challenge for her.
"He can sniff them out." Hilde said to the group and grinning at Duo. He gave her a grin back making her heart flutter.
Quatre shook his head. "I don't think she's like that. She seemed like a serious girl. I, unlike, Duo actually met her."
Duo was about to open his mouth to protest when his two other friends Wufei and Catherine came in and took a seat. He grinned at his friend. Catherine was trying to fix her short curly hair, her face a little flush, while Wufei glanced over at her darkly. Duo knew these two had recently crossed from friends to lovers. He shook his head grinning.
A moment later the teacher came in through the door telling them to take a seat and that she hoped they studied for their Spanish Test. Everyone groaned as they put away their text books. They knew their sixth period would be very long today.
Aurora and the headmaster walked down the hall towards where the classes are. He was explaining to her how the rooms are arranged and the numbering of each one so she can find her classes tomorrow. Aurora looked at the rooms, each of them had students listening, trying out experiments, or reading from text books.
"This wing must have be where are all of the classrooms are." Aurora thought out loud.
"Yes, the classrooms for the main subjects are here. For our other extracurricular classes the are other buildings. You will find there is one just for physical fitness, we have an art building, we have another for veterinary services that also include stables for horses."
"Wow" she breathed "I feel very lucky to be here, sir." looking down at the floor. She saw they were heading outside towards the rest campus.
"Trust us we are the lucky ones. We also have a separate building for the library here." said the headmaster as they walked towards the building.
"I think I'll be spending most of my time in there." Aurora replied looking at the beautiful architecture. The building was two stories but very wide. The windows were wide and tall and she could see there were day beds there and covered with fluffy pillows where students could sit down, relax and read. As they entered the building she could see tables set up in the middle and the corners and computer stations as well. Various couches were sprawled out and she could see a small cafe at the far right side of the grand room.
"This is amazing." she said looking at the second floor which had many sky lines on the ceilings and the atmosphere was so serene in the building.
"Yes, we want the students to feel at home and comfortable here. We want to inspire them while they study." he looked down at her reaction and smiled. "This is the only building that stays open until 9:30 for students to study, ten during finals and midterms.
"Come Aurora, let me finish showing you the rest of the campus." he said with a grin on his face. She could see he was happy by her reaction. She followed him back outside as they went down another road. Maybe this wouldn't be too awful she had met Quatre who seemed very nice and the headmaster wasn't too mean or strict. She didn't know Mr. Marquise very well but she did enjoyed his company she could bare this until she could go home in December. She sighed and followed the headmaster and trying to pay attention as he spoke about the grounds.
