My King

Your presence here surrounds me,

Like nothing else before.

I close my eyes and wonder,

As I slowly shut the door.

I wonder what,

You could see in me,

A silent shadow,

Behind a young white tree.

A faithful servant,

Of the true-born king,

The secret lover,

Of the man within.

What can I,

Ever give to you?

A lordly commander,

A good man, and true.

Your kingdom sings,

A joyful hymn,

I smile without,

But weep within.

Am I just,

Another toy?

A thing to use,

And then destroy.

Or do we have,

Something new,

Something pure,

Something hidden from my view.

Our wives watch us,

Smile together,

They know,

We will never sever.

They find pleasure,

With each other,

And leave us,

Leave me to wonder.

I give my all to you,

I follow only you,

I give my heart to you,

My lover,

My captain,

My king.
