Izuku stirred and opened his eyes, he was greeted by darkness and an unimaginable hunger. He felt his stomach twisting and turning demanding a meal clouding his rational thinking, he started to thrash around in the darkness trying to find an escape. Finally, after some more thrashing, he kicked something by his feet that sounded like a metal hatch. He kept kicking to door till it finally gave way flying across the room. Izuku quickly slipped out of the confined space falling on the floor, he looked around taking in his surroundings. The place looked like a surgery room with an operating table in the middle, he looked back to where he escaped from and saw a hatch leading to what looked like a wall full of other hatched. Izuku with some of his rationality shining through tried to figure out how he got here. He walked around the room dazed and still feeling the hunger but slowly its intensity started to diminish. He walked by a mirror quickly backtracking to look at himself. He was in nothing but a pair of boxers, he had messy curly green hair with black highlights, and on his cheeks, he had four freckles in diamond shapes at the corner of each eye, his eyes glowed a neon emerald and had black vertical slits as pupils, his skin was slightly pale and his nails were pointed. He looked down at his hands playing with his fingernails accidentally cutting his thumb open, he watched as a drop of blood leaked out of the cut before it closed itself up in under a second. His mind started to spin wondering how he got here and what happened to him.
"If you want to be a hero so bad, jump off a roof and pray you to get a quirk in your next life, you damn Deku!"
Izuku held his head in pain his heart starting to pound, but as quickly, as this started it dissipated. Izuku turned around and looked to the hatch next to the one he climbed out of, he walked over and opened it inside was a girl about his age she had golden blond hair and a delicate face, but her skin was paler than his. instead of recoiling, he started to drool, his stomach twisting demanding a meal. Izuku on instinct went for the base of her neck grabbed her shoulders and bit into her flesh, he started to drink her blood satiating the hunger that persisted in the back of his mind. Once he had enough to stop the irresistible cravings he pulled away to see the girl's skin growing even paler and looking anorexic. Izuku realizing what he had done panicked.
"OH MY GOD DID I JUST KILL HER?" Izuku panic screamed in his head.
In a panic, the only thing he could think of was to try giving her some blood so she would survive. He bit into his forearm drawing a mouthful of blood. He turned to the wound he made wincing at the damage he caused, he put his mouth to it and pushed some of the blood into her system. He continued this action until her body started to fill in, as her body returned to normal he noticed her nails sharpen like his. In that instant she shot up eyes rolled up in her head, Izuku shot back across the room startled by the action hiding behind the table. The girl started to sniff moving her head around like she was looking for something, Izuku stepped out from behind the table nervously fidgeting with his hands.
"H..Hello are you ok?"
The girl's head snapped in the boy's direction after a second she raised a hand to her head closing her eyes moaning and seeming to calm down when she opened them again her eyes showed a brilliant blue color with slits like himself.
"What's happening?" She spoke in a daze
Izuku still slightly panicking speaks up. "H..Hi my name is Izuku and do you know where we are?"
She slowly looks around the room taking in her surroundings and her face contorts in shock " Why are we in a morgue?!" she panicked
"Do you think I can be a hero like you even without a quirk"
"No kid you can't be a hero like me without one"
Izuku held his head again reliving the vision. The girl still panicking gets up and shakes Izuku snapping him out of his stupor.
"Did you hear me tell me why we are in a morgue!?"
Izuku looked at her processing what she said "We are in a morgue?" Izuku questions, and suddenly his eyes snap open in realization "WE WERE DEAD?!"
"HOWCOULDTHISHAPPENWHENIWAKEUPIFEELHUNGRYANDILOOKAROUNDIFINDMYSELFLOOKINGDIFFERENTANDITRYEATINGTHISGIRLWITHOUTEVENTHINKINGANDISOMEHOWBRINGHERBACKTOLIFEWHATISTHISIMTOTALLYFREAKINGOUT"
"WOULD YOU STOP THAT IT'S FREAKING ME OUT!" she screamed "AND DID YOU SAY YOU TRIED TO EAT ME?!"
Izuku scared of her reaction replies "I didn't mean to something happen and I couldn't control my body. After I realized what I did I gave you my blood to undo what I did and then you woke up" He explained, "So that means we were dead and I brought you back to life?!"
Izuku and the girl pondered on the revelation that was pointed out. At that moment a woman with bags under her eyes opened the door to the morgue. She stopped as soon as she noticed two middle schoolers in nothing but undergarments in the room. She took a second trying to figure out why two kids were in there, then she looked over at the locker wall, more specifically the two empty lockers, and everything clicked. Her eyes widened and she screamed a bloodcurdling sound. At that moment Izuku grabbed the girl by the hand and at speeds faster than the women could see the two were gone before she fainted from shock.
Izuku and the girl sprinted through the hallways of the building until they came across a glass door leading outside. Not thinking straight they smashed through the door leading to a parking lot behind the hospital. It was night time most likely the middle of the night. They continued running Izuku now noticing how fast they were truly running, Izuku saw an abandoned building and quickly guided them to it closing the door behind them and finding a room before closing and locking it behind them. They dropped to the ground panting trying to catch their breaths.
"What was that?" the girl asked
"I don't know, I just sort of panicked" Izuku replied breathing starting to even out.
"So can you explain how you brought me back to life?" she asked
Izuku explains what happened before her awakening.
The girl feels the base of her neck there was a small scar where Izuku sucked her blood out in the shape of a crescent. The two sat there in silence until Izuku spoke up.
"I never got your name what is it?" Izuku asked and if you don't mind can you tell me about yourself...and if you remember how you d..died?"
"Um well my name is Sophia my father was American and my mother was Japanese, I was born and raised in Japan my parents died in a villain attack a year ago and l lived with my grandfather. My quirk is called angel, I can heal people, empower them and grow a pair of angel wings. The only thing I can remember is that my grandfather was acting strangely for a while and one day when I came home from school one day and walked in the house everything went black." Sophia explained "Now that I think about it he probably did something to me for some reason and I died." she acknowledged "What happened to you... Izuku was it?"
Izuku nodded "I'm qu..quirkless" Izuku stuttered "I was bullied for my lack of powers and then-."
"Kacchan!"
Another vision flashed "I.. I was saved by All Might on top of a roof and I asked him if I could be a hero like him, and he said no." Izuku said reliving the memory
"And I'm guessing-." Sophia didn't finish
"No..no I started walking home when I heard explosions, I walked to the commotion and I saw my old friend taken by the villain All Might saved me from. Before I realized I ran to save him and once I got to him"
Flashback
"Kacchan!" Izuku yelled running to save his only friend. As he was closing in he chucked his backpack at the villain hitting him in the eyes. with that distraction Izuku started clawing at the sludge allowing Bakugo to take some breath.
"Deku what the hell are you doing here?!" he question yelled
"I can't sit back and do nothing Kacchan."
As soon as Izuku said that there was an explosion and the next thing Izuku knew he was on the ground an intense pain in his chest. the last thing Izuku saw before the darkness was the silhouette of a huge man splattering the villain and Bakugo staring at his hands and then at Izuku on the ground.
"At least I could save someone even if I am a Deku," Izuku whispered the words only reaching Bakugo's ears before darkness overcame him.
Flashback end
"Wow so heroic too bad All Might didn't see your potential" Sophia praised
"What?" Izuku said surprise in his voice
"You have great potential to be a hero even without a quirk." Sophia smiled "And besides I think you have a quirk now."
"But that doesn't make sense, you look like me and have the same powers on top of your quirk. I do have power but I don't think it's a quirk." Izuku questioned.
After their conversation, they quickly went in search of clothes after they realized the entire time they were in nothing but underwear. Izuku found a black and green kimono and an oversized black shirt, Sophia found a small white sundress and a straw hat that she saved for later. After they were situated their stomachs started rumbling.
Sophia's eyes widened "Oh no are we going to have to eat people?!"
"I don't know." Izuku said honestly "However I don't want to hurt anybody so let's try getting some normal food first."
The pair left the abandoned building in search of food. However, due to it being the middle of the night almost no stores were open, they kept searching until they finally found a convenience store.
"Finally I was worried we wouldn't eat tonight," Sophia said relieved
They walk into the store where they are greeted by a boy about their age. He had unruly purple hair and dark bags under his eyes like he hadn't slept in days.
"Hello welcome to the store." He said tiredly
"Hi um do you have any food for free here we don't have any money and we are really hungry?"
The cashier looked up finally paying attention to the duo. the clothes they wore were ragged and dirty on top of not having shoes.
The cashier felt bad and said. "I would like to help you so ill talk to my manager and see if he could spare some food."
Izuku and Sophia smiled as the cashier left to find the manager. As they waited a man in a dark hoodie walked in and started browsing the store. After a little while, the cashier came back with a slightly sad look on his face.
"Sorry guys he said no."
Izuku and Sophia looked down sad. "Well thanks anyway."
As they were leaving the man in a black hoodie came up behind Sophia and grabbed her turning one arm into a blade and holding a gun to the cashier.
"Listen up dude I want you to grab one of those grocery bags and fill it with as much cash as you can or else the girl will be heading home headless and you in a body bag."
The cashier put his hands up and started filling a bag full of money. Izuku stood there not wanting Sophia to get hurt with his hands in the air.
"H..Hey can you let my friend go and put your gun down? We won't do anything and you'll still get your money." Izuku pleaded
"Can it greeny unless you want something bad to happen to them."
After this was said the manager came running to the store with a baseball bat at full speed. The robber pointed his gun at the manager and fired three shots at his chest. The bullets bounced off his shirt but also stunned the manager long enough to follow through with his threat. With a movement of the arm, Sophia's head tumbled onto the ground her body falling lifeless on the ground. Izuku seeing this saw red, veins all over his body bulged and his eyes turned into a crimson red color. In the blink of an eye, Izuku kicked the man's hand holding the gun knocking it out of his hand and also shattering his wrist and forearm. While the man was on his knees cradling his arm Izuku punched him in the spine right behind his chest, the man passed out from the pain of the attack. Izuku still enraged shot a death glare at the manager who shrunk back on himself trembling in fear of Izuku's killing intent. Before Izuku could do anything drastic they all heard a blood-curdling scream. They all looked over to see Sophia's head panicking on the ground while her body started stumbling near the man's unconscious form. Izuku's body immediately reverted to normal as he rushed over to Sophia's head picking her up.
"OH MY GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO ME, AM I GOING TO DIE AGAIN? PLEASE I DON'T WANT TO GO!" she panic yelled
Izuku hugged her head stroking her hair soothingly
"Shh it's ok your going to be ok," he said reassuringly while looking at her body. He took her head over to it." Here let's try this." he sat her body up and put her head on where her head used to be. Immediately the spine audibly clicked into place and with that, the flesh around it started to connect and heal. In just a few minutes her head was fully attached and she was crying into Izuku's kimono while he comforted her. After a little while, she calmed down enough to stand up with support from Izuku.
"I think that's enough for one night." Izuku said quietly to not startle Sophia "We'll be going now." Izuku started walking away with Sophia holding onto him.
"Wait the manager said you need to stay here to pay for the damages you caused." the manager said uncaringly
Izuku's eyes turned that dangerous crimson color staring down at the manager. "What damages, the only damages caused today were due to your negligence and recklessness if she was anyone else they would be dead.
The manager shrunk back again feeling twice the amount of killing intent than before.
"Wait here take this for your troubles that's the least I can do." the cashier said holding out a grocery bag full to the brim with food.
Izuku smiled taking the bag and thanking him. As they left they heard the manager screaming at the cashier for giving away the food and him quitting on the spot not wanting to work for such a piece of garbage.
They traveled back to the abandoned building they found and spent the night together comforting each other from the tragedy that could have occurred falling asleep. In the morning they woke up slightly flustered by the position they slept together in. After they calmed down Izuku pulled out the food they had gotten last night. With a quick thanks for the food they dug in but were disappointed with the food tasting like wet cardboard even with this they finished their meals and had a talk about last night.
"Sophia are you ok to talk about last night?" Izuku asked
"Yeah, I think the shock wore off." Sophia Replied
"I have a theory on what happened to you in the store." Izuku took a deep breath. "I think we could be Immortal."
Sophia did a spit take in shock choking on some water. "Do you think that could be the case, I mean I know I got my head cut off but there are some quirks that can take off limbs or let people control their body parts after being removed."
"Yeah that's true but I think that wasn't the case, I came back from death and somehow resurrected you on top of you surviving being beheaded. which is why I don't think this is a quirk, we've got immortal regeneration, super speed, and super strength no quirk has ever had these kinds of abilities without a drawback. Izuku explained
"I think we should do more tests for now but first I'm concerned about our food situation even though we ate like three servings each I'm still pretty hungry."
"Now that you mention it I could still go for more." Izuku conceded
"So what are we going to do now?" Sophia asked
"Right now I think we need more food what we got wasn't nearly enough and after that, we should find jobs to start making money," Izuku suggested
"And how will we get more food and money in the meantime?"
"Well, maybe we coul- OWWW!" Izuku screamed pulling his hand to his chest
"What's wrong?" Sophia questioned worriedly. She reached out to help Izuku but a ray of sunlight struck her hand, causing it to disintegrate. She yelled in pain also pulling her hand back. "What was that?" she saw the ray of light and slowly put her hand near it. As soon as she touched the light her skin started to burn.
Izuku seeing this has a realization. "That's our drawback!" Izuku exclaimed but then paled further realizing the implications.
"So what now we can't go outside during the day?" Sophia questioned "That's just great it's not like the day is the best time to go out." she said sarcastically
"That is pretty bad we should find some clothing to protect us from the sunlight."
Izuku and Sophia explore the abandoned building more to find clothing to block the sun luckily it was still winter so thicker clothing wouldn't be too suspicious.
"Hey, Sophia I've got a question have you felt too hot or cold at all since you woke up?"
"No, why?" asked Sophia
"Just adding another ability to the list."
They finished finding old clothes and layering them over what they already wore. They had on oversized winter coats sweatpants multiple pairs of socks and old crocks with some makeshift scarves and large sun hats. They tested their clothes in the window and found success.
Stepping outside and walking down the street Sophia spoke. "We never finished the conversation about how we are going to make money Izuku"
"That's why we are out here, let's look for places to get work and if we can't I have one more idea."
Izuku and Sophia spent the day looking for jobs they could do mostly at restaurants so they could get discounts for food, though the search was so far fruitless. As they looked for the next potential job location they heard something that caught their attention the news was playing a story.
"Something mysterious happened in Musutafu General Hospital over the weekend. On Saturday night two teens were spotted in the Hospital morgue it is believed that the teens were villains trying to use the bodies in the morgue. No information has been released about the suspects however later that night a man tried to rob a convenience store and was stopped by the alleged teens one of them leaving the robber in critical condition and paralyzed from the waist down."
"Oh, no that's us." Sophia said "But weren't their cameras there? Why didn't they show the footage?"
"They probably didn't because of what morgue and store footage showed which means they are after us," Izuku said
"Why would they be after us? Questioned Sophia
"Don't you remember what I told you about what happened in there I was eating and biting into a dead body and I brought that dead body back to life, of course, they are going to have questions, not to mention you being decapitated and living through that." Izuku explained, "That means we can't get jobs like we wanted, if we do we'll be tracked down."
"Well, how will we get money and food?"
"What I was going to suggest earlier before I interrupted myself was we could become vigilantes and take money from villains we stop."
"But won't that be just as bad as the villains?"
"Well, it's either we do this or go to the police and turn ourselves in," Izuku stated as they walked home. Once they got there and shut the door Sophia spoke.
"Ok fine we'll be vigilantes but we will only take what we need to survive ok?"
"That's fine with me, and on the plus side we will be doing good while we survive let's get prepared and make some disguises."
So yeah this is basically Izuku as Muzan from Demon Slayer but not evil. He might have some problems with controlling his anger though and Sophia is the first created demon his upper moon. the next chapter will be a time skip, five months before the U.A. entrance exams so get ready.
