Part 1-Human

Chapter 1- Prologue

The sound of thousands of birds chirping echoed throughout the valley.

As two figures populated the area.

The first's blonde hair was spiked in all directions. His bright orange jacket was stained red with his own blood. His normally sapphire-blue that shone with happiness was now iced cold, as he looked out in shock.

A hand, which was encased in lightning, pierced through his chest and all he could do was stare out at his best friend.

It is a dark haired boy, who appeared around the age of 13. He adorned a blue high collar shirt with short sleeves and white shorts. A peculiar red and white fan-like symbol was imprinted on his back. His eyes were a harsh crimson, as several black tomoe spun around his shrunken pupil. His normally pale skin was marred with black tattoo-like symbols that wrapped around his arms and face.

The blonde's once exuberant arms fell limply to his sides. He tried to speak, to call out, to cry out, but all that came out was blood that leaked from his mouth. He tried to call upon the vile chakra within him, but there was no answer, he only heard the cruel laughter of the one within him.

Miraculously, he'd managed to speak, if only a single word. "Sas…suke." he spoke. His voice was hollow, as it spoke of the betrayal he felt. That was all he could speak, as his bloodied body slipped from Sasuke's grasp, and floated down to the bottom of the water.

Sasuke's eyes began to morph, his tomoe began to converge into a kaleidoscope-like design.

"When you have these same eyes as me, come before me."

Those were the words his brother told him.

He promised himself he'd gain the strength to avenge his family. He would kill Itachi…kill his only brother.

But why? Why did he feel so hollow?

His chest felt so heavy, and his eyes felt like they were on fire.

It was the same,

the same pain he felt…when he'd lost his family, on 'that' night.

All he could do was stare down into the water, the endless depth of where his friend-No! His brother, in all but blood - had fallen into.

And then it hit him…

He'd just killed his Brother. He murdered what little family he had left… he just killed.

He was worse than scum… he was just like him.

Sasuke didn't register when his feet hit the water, it was only chakra he was subconsciously channeling that held him afloat. His blood soaked arms fell limply at his sides, as if he were the one to have just been stabbed.

He hadn't registered the cry of total anguish that had erupted from his mouth.

It wasn't long before he was found, and questions were asked to him, and pain answers left his mouth.

Everything felt numb.

He almost felt when he was enveloped in tight arms that constricted him. It wasn't soon after that darkness overtook him.

XXX

He was too late.

He had tried, and yet he'd still failed.

He had followed pakkun towards his student's scent. That had been the mission, the mission he'd only received on his way back to the leaf. It had been sent out in a panic; but he had understood the message well enough.

Sasuke Uchiha had left the village; of his own volition or otherwise. A team consisting of both chunin and genin had been sent out against unknown opposition to retrieve his wayward student. His mission was to back up said team and if possible retrieve Sasuke if at all possible.

He hadn't had anything of Sasuke's to track his scent, and it was mere happenstance that pakkun was able to pick out his more exuberant student's from all the rest. It had been the scent of both sweat and ramen, and heaven knows it could be anyone else's.

And so he tracked him down; and the scent led him to the famous valley of his forefathers.

He trekked forward… only to witness his wayward student looking lifelessly into the darkened depths below. His other student was covered in blood that didn't look like his own.

He could only imagine what had transpired here today.

"Sasuke!" He shouted, as he jumped forward towards his student's side, using chakra to hold him above the water. "Where's Naruto?" He questioned.

Sasuke gave no answer.

"Where's Naruto?" He reiterated, shaking his student out of his reverie.

Sasuke glanced towards him through his peripherals, but he still kept the majority of his sight on the waters. It was strange; he had never seen sasuke's eyes… so hollow? Before.

It was then that he began to grasp the situation, but sasuke only confirmed his theory. "I… I killed him." he admitted, his voice soaked with pain. "My mind… It's so cloudy. He tried… he tried to bring me back, but it was as if… as if my body, my mind, didn't want to… I couldn't. We fought. And before I knew it… I killed him." Sasuke unloaded all the pain he felt into his explanation.

And Kakashi understood.

He wanted to blame him, to hate his student.

His family was murdered when he was young, by his brother no less. It was no wonder he was unstable. Adding the cursed mark Orochimaru gave him only added fuel to the bonfire.

And this was the result…

"He… He was the only one… The only one who understood me." Sasuke muttered. "We were like brothers… him and me… family." He cried out in anguish.

Sasuke's hands clutched his aching head. "And I Killed him!" He shouted to the world, "Me! I killed him!" He cried out as tears rolled down his face.

Kakashi placed a firm hand onto his student's shoulder. "Sasuke… What happened here wasn't your fault."

He couldn't blame sasuke.

He was just another victim of this cruel world.

No… really the fault lied with him. He had tried to help sasuke, tried to give him someone to turn to in his grief, show him he was just like him.

He was the one to teach him his most coveted jutsu, and judging by the blood on his hand… Sasuke had used the same jutsu to kill his student.

"Kakashi…" Sasuke called out, grabbing his attention once more. "That's…" he pointed out.

And it was then he noticed a silver object floating within the cold blue water.

Sasuke went up to grab the object, clutching the object close to his chest as if it were a lifeline.

Naruto's hitai-ate

And in an instant the realization hit him harder than a freight train.

His sensei's son was gone.

The last remnant of Minato Namikaze was dead.

And it was his fault.

Why?

Why couldn't he have been there for Naruto?

Minato was his sensei, but ever since his father died he was more akin to a father.

So why had Naruto grown up alone?

Why did Naruto have to live out in the streets when there were plenty of people to look after him?

He hadn't even visited him one time before he became a genin.

He only watched from the shadows.

Why didn't he visit Naruto one time?

To let him know that he wasn't alone within this world?

He was a coward.

Ever since his sensei Minato died, he was afraid to see his sensei's son.

And so, he hoisted his student on his back.

Sasuke was clearly in shock right now, but he tied him up for good measure. Although it wouldn't do him much good, Sasuke was clearly catatonic right now.

He eyed the sky. It had started to rain.

As if the very world was crying out.

And with that, his mission was a success. Sasuke Uchiha had been successfully retrieved.

XXX

(With Naruto)

He'd lost track of how long ago he'd been sucked up within the deep abyss.

A few minutes? Maybe even a few hours?

He didn't know.

The bleeding hole in his chest nearly caused him to black-out multiple times, and it was only through sheer willpower he was able to remain conscious.

It was a good thing he'd asked Kakashi how he'd survived within Zabuza's water prison for so long.

He'd coated his lungs with chakra, greatly reducing the amount of oxygen your body needed to take in.

Although, he'd basically tested the technique out on the spot.

He doubted he'd successfully pulled the technique off.

As the mix of water and blood that filled his lungs needed to be coughed up onto the floor.

He greedily filled his lungs with much-needed oxygen he'd been deprived of for so long.

And it was only by sheer luck he'd been brought up out of the water and been washed onto land.

Where was he?

He looked around.

It seemed he'd been washed up into an underground cave.

Just his luck.

It could be days before he'd be found in a place like this.

He shakily tried to bring himself to his feet, using his hand on a nearby wall to help him get upright.

Although it has been an extreme struggle to do so.

Trying to call upon the foul chakra within him to heal the rest of his wounds, he could see his hand along the wall start to revert to the sharpened claws he was familiar with.

As he used them to clutch onto the wall for better leverage.

But as soon as the chakra filled his system, he could feel it being taken from him.

As if the owner had rejected him entirely.

The very act of this caused him to fall hard onto the cave's stone floors.

He felt the wound in his chest start to reopen, as his blood started to leak onto the floor.

His vision started to darken.

And he once again felt his consciousness begin to slip.

No… this was different.

How much blood had he lost?

Surely it hadn't been that much?

He knew if he lost too much blood it wouldn't matter how much of the Kyuubi's chakra he took, he'd be a goner for sure

What was that light he was beginning to see?

What… What was happening?

Was he… dying?

No.

He wasn't going to die here.

He wasn't going to die.

Yes, he… he still had things he needed to do.

He… he still needed to be Hokage.

Still had people he needed to go home to… like Granny Tsunade, or… or Sakura-Chan, Iruka or Kakashi-Sensei… or even Sas… No!

He was the one to do this to him.

Sasuke.

That was the mission… to retrieve Sasuke Uchiha.

Because Sasuke was wanted.

The Leaf wanted Sasuke. Sakura wanted Sasuke.

He's made that promise after all… to bring Sasuke back.

A stray thought entered his mind… would they want him too?

Once that treacherous thought entered his mind, it infected it… like a virus.

Would they care if he died?

Tsunade only cared because she saw her brother in him.

Kakashi-sensei was nice… but he could always tell that he never really saw him. Like… he saw someone else. Was that why he'd avoided him so much? And when he'd asked him for training during the Chunin exams, he'd pushed him off?

He loved Sakura, but she didn't feel the same. But those tears… she'd cried when… she… asked him to find Sasuke.

His heart sank. That was the only time she saw him… and it was for Sasuke.

Would it be so bad if he died?

Wouldn't that mean he would finally get to see his parents?

What would they be like?

Would they love him? Tell him that they died protecting him?

No.

It was more likely that they were still alive. That they'd abandoned him the moment the fourth sealed that blasted demon in him.

And so he realized…

He wouldn't be accepted even when he died.

And so… he refused.

He refuses to die.

It didn't matter how, but he'd survive this.

He forced his eyes open, and he glimpsed… an angel?

No.

She didn't look like that at all, she looked much darker… malevolent even.

Her clothes were dark, but her eyes were a deep crimson. But her hair? Her long, lustrous hair, was so pink that I reminded him of his teammate.

She was beautiful.

Just who was she?

XXX

Unknowingly, but when Naruto's hand had fallen over the hard stone walls of the cave he'd unknowingly channeled the Kyuubi's foul chakra into the walls, seals and began to light up the cave.

Elegant steps echoed throughout the cavern as she surveyed her surroundings.

It had been some time since she had been free.

Such a dull and drab place she'd ended up in.

She'd found herself in a dark and dreary cave, without a soul to be seen.

Was this how the world had turned out in her time sealed away?

How tasteless.

And it was then that she caught a whiff of it.

It was quite the delectable smell.

It appeared that her initial survey of the area had been wrong. Had her skills dulled in her time away?

For there was, in fact, a person within the cave.

He appeared to be wearing a hideous orange outfit that nearly blinded her enhanced senses. His hair was as golden as the sun. He appeared to be injured, as he was lying in a pool of his own blood.

Had this been the person who freed her?

Well… it had been quite some time since she'd feasted from a human.

He was already as good as dead, it wouldn't matter to him either way.

She walked over and leaned down to taste some of his blood.

Delicious.

Words couldn't describe how delectable his blood tasted. It was probably the most delicious blood she tasted in all her many years of living.

But there was more to it than that…

Her eyes widened.

Well… maybe this human would be useful after all.

She turned the human over just as she caught a glimpse of his crystal blue eyes.

XXX

"Hey human, do you want to bleed out?" She asked him. "Because I can ensure you survive all of this. I offer you eternal life."

What? What was she talking about?

He tried to speak, but no words came.

He tried to cry out, but no tear fell.

He refused to die.

He refused.

"I see…" she said, understanding the look within his eyes. " you've made a good choice."

And she bit down on her lip… hard.

So hard blood started to leak from her mouth.

She leaned down to where their eyes met.

"Once you drink my blood you become something far superior to a human." She told him, as she lent down even further.

Their lips met.

He didn't mind the taste, as he devoured the red liquid greedily.

Little did he know… the world would never be the same.

End Chapter.

AN: That's the end of the chapter.

For a summary: Sasuke stabbed Naruto which lead him falling into the Valley, he's presumed dead and Sasuke is found by Kakahi, who later find, Naruto's headband.

While Naruto is injured but alive and ended up within a dark cave where he uses the kyuubi's chakra

It didn't take too long to work on.

Sasuke: in this Sasuke is obviously inspired by Yuichiro Hyakuya. But with some other changes along the way.

And in this he legitimately thinks he killed Naruto. And in this he's remorseful because of it.

I thought this would add to the plot rather than the normal, "SasGay goes to orochimaru and becomes and overall arrogant asshole". Not that there's anything wrong with that, but...

Naruto: Naruto was sort of ment to reflect Mikaela, but with a few twists.

In this he'll be much darker, but the change will also be gradual.

In many regards Naruto has had a dark past and with Krul's "guidance" he'll turn out different.

Krul tepes: She's obviously from Omawari, and her past will be revealed sooner or later. As well as her reasons for turning Naruto.

Kurama: If you didn't catch it but kurama refused to give Naruto more chakra which lead to Naruto not being able to heal from Sasuke's chidori.

The ramifications of this action will be stated later.

Pairing: The pairing will obvious be Naruto x Krul, no harems or anything else.

This story will definitely take a darkturn. People will die and arms will fly

This story was sort of inspired by Konohasblackreaper's 'like me'. But I also took some elements from other things that I forgot about.

Next chapter: The next chapter will be longer, and we'll get to see a bit of Konoha and their reactions to Naruto's "death" and Naruto waking up with Krul and him realizing he's a vampire.

Question:Let me know what you think of this story so far and where you suggest this story will go?
