Alassë walked down the cold stone hallway, and came across a large wooden door. It was locked. She tried opening it, but was unsuccessful. She peered through a crack between the door and the wall and saw her parents lying there, starving and cold, and a floor covered in straw. They were alone...for the moment. There were large dark bruises on her mothers arms and her father had a large cut across his face. They looked as though they were sleeping but on a second glance it showed that they were unconsious. Alassë tried opening the door again. When that didn't work, she started banging on the door as if her life depended on it. She started screaming her parents names as tears started to stream down her face. All of a sudden somebody grabbed her from behind and started shaking her. She started to scream louder until -
"Alassë! Alassë! Wake up!" Eldarion was shaking her awake from her dream. She was crying and her throat hurt from screaming in her sleep.
"Eldarion! Mum, and Dad! They were hurt! They were locked in a room and, and, oh I can't remember! But they needed our help! We have to find them and save them!!" she cried.
"It's ok! It was just a dream! I'm sure our parents our fine! Now please, just calm down. we're going to be leaving momentarily." he replied. With that he walked back over to the horses to help Nessa get them ready.
She felt so ashamed of herself. She knew that her parents weren't being starved in a locked room, or being beaten. They couldn't be at Isengard yet. It wasn't possible. Unless they had some sort of technologicaly advanced vehicle that could transport them to places in just hours, then there was no way. She got up, and smoothing out her clothes and hair, walked over to her horse. Just before they were about to leave she ran back to get the maps she had forgotten on the ground and found Eldarions note written under hers. She looked at it for a couple of seconds and smiled. She ran back over to her horse, shoved the maps in her bag, hopped on her horse and set off with her siblings.

The four siblings were riding by Ogiliath with fairly high spirits when Alassë looked towards the deserted city. She thought she saw something move in the shadows. She stopped to look closer.
"Alassë what are you doing?" Eldarion said as he looked back.
"I thought I saw something move over there." She replied still looking into the shadows.
"Yeah it was probably a rat." Eldarion said with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
"A rat!? Where!?" Nessa cried out.
"Over there in the shadows." Eldarion answered. "Now come on Alassë. It's nothing to worry about."
"Yeah. Maybe you're right." she said absent mindedly and dragged her gaze away from the city to follow her siblings.
Little did she know that it was more than a rat in the shadows.
