Goku and Chi-Chi decided to spend a weekend away at the Briefs' family house at the mountains, to celebrate her birthday. Her father offered to take care of Gohan and Goten for them, so they could have some time alone together.

"Bulma was very nice to let us stay in her family house." Goku stated when they finally arrived there, and helped Chi-Chi get into the top of the mountain.
"She really was." She placed her hands on her knees and gasped for air. "I just didn't understand why we had to walk all the way here. We could have simply teleported or used the flying cloud. It would have been faster."
"But then we wouldn't get to exercise."
"I know, but you're in a better shape than me. I haven't properly trained for years."
"We could use this weekend to change that."
"That's not what I had planned for this trip."
"So what have you planned, exactly?"
"Something more romantic." Chi-Chi reached up and kissed him on the cheek. "There's a reason why we didn't bring our sons along, despite Goten's protests."
"His affection for nature is admirable."
"He's been in touch with it ever since he was born, so…"
"So you said you wanted something more romantic this weekend, huh?" Goku smirked and wrapped his strong arms around her. "I can fulfill your wish then."
"I have absolutely no doubt about that." She threw her arms around his neck. "It's a good thing I brought a couple of sheets along. We might need them."
"Might?"
"Alright. We'll definitely need them." She leaned in and kissed him passionately before spinning on her feet and unlocking the door. "Here we are."

Chi-Chi could barely keep her mouth shut when she and Goku walked into the house. It was decorated with dark wooden furniture and the couch was brown to match with them. There was also a fireplace opposite the room and a large dining table near the window.
"Wow, this house is absolutely amazing!" She exclaimed. "She told me about it, but it's even better than I pictured."
"It is pretty. So different than the Capsule Corp."
"I know. I could easily live here. What about you?" She turned around to look at him, but he wasn't in the living room anymore. "Goku, where are you?"
"Chi-Chi, you have got to see this!" He yelled from the bedroom.
"Goku, what are you doing?" She asked in shock when she appeared on the door. "You might break this bed."
"This mattress is so soft." He blatantly ignored her and kept on jumping on the bed. "You should try it."
"I really don't want to break it. You should stop doing it too before an accident happens."
"Okay, okay." He got off the bed. "Can you believe this place? How come Bulma never brought us here?"
"Maybe they don't come here that often or maybe they didn't have a chance since we don't live close. Or maybe they just didn't want to, which is fine."
"Yeah, you're right."

.

"Chi-Chi, where are you?" Goku asked as he walked through the hall that led to the bedrooms.
"I'm in the suite, Goku. In the bedroom we're staying."
Seconds later, she heard him open the door outside. "I don't see you here."
"That's because I'm in the bathtub. Come here."
"Wow, this is really nice." He stated as he walked in.
"It is." Chi-Chi nodded. "And the water is amazing. You should get in too."
"I really should. I haven't taken a bath in ages."
"Especially with your wife."
"Exactly." Goku began to get undressed rather fast. "So I should take all the opportunities I can have this weekend."
"That's very wise." She couldn't help but look at his long member as he walked towards the bathtub. She was so focused on it that didn't even notice she had absentmindedly licked her lips and the look of satisfaction on his face. It was only when he created a small wave on the water and sprayed foam on her that she broke out of her trance. "Goku, be gentle."
"I'm sorry, Chi-Chi. You're right, the water is great."
"I know. It makes me not want to leave here anytime soon."
"So don't."
"Seems like you already know what we can do over here." Her tone was suggestive and she looked at him with a sassy expression.
"As a matter of fact, I do." He smiled mischievously and leaned over her right away, barely giving her time to say something because his lips were colliding into hers in a fiery kiss.

.

Chi-Chi walked into the living room after drying her hair. She decided to keep it loose that night for a change. She could smell food coming from outside and headed to the door.
"Goku? What are you doing?"
"Hey, Chi-Chi." He looked at her, grinning. Then he pointed at the bonfire he had put up. "Look at what I did."
"A bonfire." She got closer to him. "It looks lovely."
"I went looking for some trunks, but couldn't find any. So I tore down some trees and made them myself. I just couldn't find a match or something to light it up."
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure there are some in the kitchen. But we don't have anything to cook on it."
"Actually, we do. I also went fishing on the lake nearby and got quite a few fishes."
"You went fishing?" She asked with her eyebrows raised. "When?"
"When you were getting dry."
"Goku, it's freezing! I can't believe you went fishing when it's cold outside. You can get a flu."
"You're exaggerating, Chi-Chi. I'm fine."
"Well, let's hope you're right. I'm going to get some matches."
"Great."
She stared at him for a moment, blatantly touching her hair. She turned around and headed to the kitchen when she couldn't get his attention, taking a deep breath and pouting.

When Chi-Chi returned five minutes later, she found Goku sitting by the trunks in the dark and almost tripped down because she could barely see a thing ahead.
"Chi-Chi, are you okay?" He quickly rushed to her and grabbed both her forearms to make sure she was steady.
"I'm fine, thank you." She looked at him after her sight adjusted to the darkness and smiled. "I brought the matches. A whole box, actually. We might need it."
"Great." He picked them up from her hand and went to kneel down next to the bonfire.
"I also remembered I had brought a bag of marshmallows. We can heat them up and eat after the fish. What do you think?"
"I think it's a great idea." He grinned at her. "I haven't done that in a long time."
"I haven't either. Wait, what are you doing?"
"I'm trying to light up the bonfire."
"We're gonna need something to help." Chi-Chi started looking around them. "I'd soak a piece of old clothing in alcohol and then set it on fire, but we have neither here. So we're gonna need to find thin trunks or something that catches fire easily."
"Got it." Goku stood up and started walking towards the woods.
"Where are you going?"
"There are a lot of wood a few meters into the forest." He looked over his shoulder. "I'm going to bring them over."

Indeed, it wasn't that hard to set the trunks on fire then. The flames faintly illuminated both their faces as they sat near the bonfire and watched the fishes get cooked. Chi-Chi rested her head on Goku's shoulder and he wrapped his arm around her back.
"Are you feeling warmer now?"
"Yeah, the bonfire helped a lot. But it's still a little chilly. Part of me would like to be wrapped on a blanket right now."
"I can do something about that." He pressed the tips of two fingers against his head and disappeared, only to return five seconds later with two blankets. "There you go."
"Thank you." Chi-Chi smiled after he put one of them around her. "Now it definitely feels like an autumn bonfire."
"It really does."
"Looks like the fishes are ready." She bent over and checked on them before grabbing a stick and handing it to him. "Are you hungry?"
"I am, but can we wait just a little longer?"
"Why?" She asked surprised. "You never turn down food."
"I can make an exception tonight. There's something else I want to do."
"Something else you want to do? What?"
"This." He slid his hand up her arm to the back of her neck and brought her head towards him, meeting her lips halfway in a passionate kiss.
Chi-Chi melted into his chest almost right away and wrapped her arms around his neck, shoving her tongue into his mouth when the kiss got heated up.
"Wow." She mumbled when they pulled away from each other and let her forehead touch his. "That was…"
"I know." Goku grinned and then turned to look at the bonfire. "Now we can eat."
"Actually, no, we can't." She quickly tugged his collar and brought him in her direction. "It's my birthday and I deserve another one."
"That's fair." He pulled her up and then sat her on his lap, rested a hand on her cheek while his arm wrapped around her back and their lips collided against one another again.

.

Chi-Chi woke up the next morning with the clarity of the sun in her room. First she tried covering herself with the blanket to block the sunlight, but eventually she pulled it out and stood up. She wrapped herself in a thick red velvet robe and left the room.
"Goku, where are you?" She asked loudly when she walked into the kitchen, but received no response from her husband. So she poured herself a cup of hot black coffee, realizing belatedly that he had made it, and headed outside.

As soon as she stepped outside, she instantly covered herself tighter, so she could keep herself as warm as she could. She heard some noises coming from the garden and immediately walked towards it.
"Goku, what are you doing?"
"Oh, hi, Chi-Chi." Goku wiped the sweat from his forehead and put the shovel away. "I was working on our garden. You know, planting new seedlings."
"I love how passionate and dedicate you feel about it, but you don't have to do it on a Saturday morning, especially when it's cold. It's much warmer inside, so why don't we go in?"
"Well, I already started here." He placed his palms over the top of the shovel and his chin over them, looking at the garden briefly. "So how about I meet you inside?"
"You couldn't stop not even if your beautiful wife asks you to? You can do this any other day. It's weekend, you're allowed to get some rest." Chi-Chi walked to him and placed her hands on his waist. "What if I say we can be in bed the whole morning?"
"That sounds really tempting." He threw the shovel away and picked her up in his arms. "You convinced me, let's go."

A few minutes later they were already back inside the house and Chi-Chi looked over her shoulder when she noticed Goku had let go of her hand and stopped walking suddenly.
"Is something wrong?"
"No, I just need to get something I forgot at the garden." He pressed his fingers against his forehead. "I'll be right back."
He came back just as fast as he had left, with a bouquet of roses in his hands. She stared at them with surprise, wondering when he had collected them because she didn't see the bouquet outside.
"These are for you." He said with a large smile.
"What?"
"Me working on our garden was just a set up, I wasn't really doing it. I felt your ki near, so I had to come up with something to cover for it. I was actually collecting these flowers for you. I didn't buy you a birthday present, so I'm hoping this will do." Goku handed the bouquet to her. "Happy Birthday, Chi-Chi."
"Thank you, Goku." She grabbed it and smelled the flowers. "You remembered rose is my favorite flower."
"I could never forget it. I picked up the best ones I found. I hope you like them."
"I absolutely loved them." She said softly and walked to him, standing on her toes and kissing him on the cheek. "It's one of the best birthday gifts I've ever received."
"I'm happy to hear that." He watched her put the bouquet away and wrapped his arms around her when she leaned against his body.

.

Goku smelled food as soon as he left the bathroom. He was drying his spiky black hair with a towel when he crossed the living room and spotted Chi-Chi sitting on the floor in front of the fireplace.
"What are you doing?"
"I got some of the non-used trunks to light up the fireplace, so the house can get warm."
"You could have just turned on the heat."
"I know, but I wanted to light it up tonight." She light up a match and threw it in the middle of the trunks.
"Okay."
"You should use a hairdryer on your hair. You don't want to be sick. And put some warm clothes on too."
"As you wish." He threw the towel around his neck and went to their bedroom.

Five minutes later, Goku returned to the living room, only to find his wife leaning against the armchair and sleeping. So he sat down next to her and pulled her towards him, gently lying her head on his leg. He caressed her left arm softly and she shivered under his touch for a brief moment.
"I love you."
He looked down at Chi-Chi to make sure she was awake when she said it, but she was still sleeping peacefully. He couldn't help but smile at the fact she was dreaming about them. He bent down and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you too, Chi-Chi."

.

The sunlight in the living room woke Chi-Chi up the morning after. She squinted and slowly opened her eyes. After she was adjusted to the bright clarity, she noticed she had slept on the floor. Actually, somehow she ended up sleeping with her head on Goku's lap but didn't remember how she got there.
"I must have been so tired not to wake up when he moved me to here."
She sat up and stared at him, who was sleeping heavily. She couldn't help but stroke his hair and face softly. She felt grateful for having amazing husband and children. She reached up for a pillow lying on the armchair and carefully placed it below his head. Then she rested her cheek on his chest and stared at him.
"I can't believe you spent the whole night here just because I was sleeping on you."
"Well, believe it."
"You're awake?" She raised her eyebrows and sat up straight, still staring at him.
"I have been for a while now. Probably even before you."
"What?"
"This isn't exactly the most comfortable place to spend the night." Goku winced. "I have a terrible pain on my back."
"I can make it better. Sit down."
"Okay." He did as she said. "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to massage your back." She stood behind him and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Is that okay?"
"Sure, that's fine." He closed her eyes and moaned softly depending on where she touched.
Chi-Chi couldn't tell exactly when it started, but before she knew it she was kissing his neck and shoulders. Seconds later, she was on his arms and they made out all that morning.
