Prologue
The Queen of Hearts. Her very name strikes fear into all of Wonderland. Even those as loyal to her as the Hatter were scared of her. She knew it. She loved the fact that every single inhabitant of her province was terrified of her. She smiled at that happy, happy thought as she slithered down the hall on her tentacles. She had a very important meeting today, with three people that could be very useful to her. She soon came to a large door. It was a room she used only for very special occasions. She pushed open the door with her hands and went in. Inside the room was a large circular table with four chairs around it. The room was very dark, but enough light was coming in from the windows that she could still see. She took a seat in a nice, big, red chair, and waited. After about five minutes, the door on the other side of the room slowly creaked opened and a heart card guard walked in.
"My Queen? Your guests are here." He grunted. "Then let them in you fool!" said the Queen in a very annoyed voice. "Of course your Majesty" replied the card as he bowed and backed out of the room. Three figures, nearly as grotesque as the Queen of Hearts herself, slithered into the room and placed themselves in the remaining three chairs. "How nice to see you again my dear" came a voice from the left of the table. "You've been doing quite well I hear. Ruler of all Wonderland! Very impressive." Said a feminine voice from the seat opposite the Queen. "Get to the point" replied the ruler of all Wonderland. "Very well," said the 1st person, "We want..." "We want in!"yelled the figure to the right of the Queen. "Shhhh! Be respectful you stupid clod." scolded the middle figure. The Heart Queen narrowed her eyes. "So that is what you want, you want to rule part of Wonderland." "Please sister," pleaded the third figure, "I just want The Village of the Doomed. Those miners aren't important to you anyway." "And I would be quite content with the Vale of Tears and the Wonderland Woods" said the figure to the left of the Queen. "And what do you want?" the Queen of Hearts said to the middle figure. "Just The Fortress of Doors, nothing more." "I assume you also want total control over your own suit as well?" asked the Queen. "No, no. We figured we could all share the suits." The evil ruler started thinking it over, it was true that she didn't really have any use for the miners, she only put them there so they would be out of her way. The Fortress and the Insane Children were also worthless, and she didn't go the Vale or the Woods anymore. Besides, she still would have control over the Jabberwock, the Mad Hatter, the Red Chess King, and all their realms. "Very well" she said at last, "I grant you your request, now leave." All four of them got up from the table. The Queen watched as they left. But one turned around before exiting and asked where the Queen's husband was. "Oh I killed that git a long time ago. I caught him flirting with the Duchess, and how are yours?" "Oh, they're fine, in fact, they're waiting outside the castle for us right now so I better dash. Bye!" she said in a cheerful voice before leaving. The Queen watched her go, turned, and left the room.
