Chapter Two: Beast Boy's date with destiny
Note: Some parts of this fic will be similar to my original Trouble Returns however, as more chapters are released - it will become different.
Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy made their way to the bank by flying while Robin got on his R-Cycle, Cyborg and Ember were in the T-Car.
"Cyborg - how are we going to defeat this ghost boy? I feel like the powers would go straight through him" Ember asked thinking that's what would happen when they'd launch an attack on him. "In ways, he reminds me of Danny Phantom except Danny Phantom's a good guy and in Amity Park - not Jump City" she added smiling as she thought of the ghost boy. She loved watching that series.
"He does kind of remind me of him, Ember. That's a good question - maybe Robin could use his freeze disks on him? As for Megumi she should be a bit easier to get down by the sounds" Cyborg answered after a bit of thinking. It took the two to reunite with the other Titans at least half an hour - due to the traffic with many citizens fleeing Jump City due to Megumi and the ghost kid.
The Titans all met up at the entrance of the bank and were surprised to see an army of soldiers that appeared to be made out of ice and had a s symbol on them. Making it look familiar to Robin.
"No, it can't be!" Robin stared at the bots in disbelief. "It can't be him!" he added in dismay.
"Who, boyfriend, Robin?" Starfire asked listening to him in surprise.
"Slade..." Robin answered pointing to the S symbols on the bots. "Titans, get ready!"
The ice bots all had a staff in their hands. Starfire held Starbolts in her hands, Raven, Beast Boy and Cyborg got their powers ready while Ember took her gloves off and put them in her pocket - she then got prepared to make a fireball.
At the start - nothing happened, the bots stayed still until a female appeared on the roof of the bank. "Hello, Titans. I see you've met my incredible minions. These are indeed bots and are challenging to defeat. They may look easy to destroy but I promise you - they are not. My husband designed them" a woman with icy blue hair and dark clothing announced as she looked at the Titans in interest.
Robin stared at her in disbelief. "Wait...Slade's your husband?!" Robin exclaimed clenching his fists, getting ready to fight her.
"Well figured out Robin... And since I've heard so much of you, I've wanted to test you out my-self with my minions!" The woman said, signaling to her ice soldiers to get ready.
"I'm still surprised Slade's actually married! Who'd want to marry him!" Robin snapped looking disgusted, poking his tongue out at the thought of it.
"I married him. He's helped me with a lot of good deeds and so I've decided to help him with a lot... Starting with destroying you lot!" The woman cried out, clapping her hands twice.
At once all six of the soldiers on the ground raced towards the Titans and started throwing ice-bolts at them, using their staff.
"TITANS GO!" Robin commanded, as one of the soldiers shot out some ice-bolts at him. Robin dodged and threw a few Electric Disks at the soldier, hoping to slice him in half, the soldier dodged and continued throwing ice-bolts at Robin, who dodged the attacks.
Two of the soldiers started attacking Starfire, who fought back firing Starbolts at them for a while, once she stopped throwing them, she gasped to see that the soldiers were still in good condition.
"Boyfriend, Robin! They are not damaged when I throw my Starbolts at them!" Starfire called out to him, watching as he fought with one, looking a bit worried.
"Hit them with all you got Star!" Robin commanded, busy fighting trying to defend himself.
Starfire continued showering the soldiers with her Starbolts, she used her Eyebeams on them too, hoping it would weaken them at least, the soldiers fought her back attacking her with ice-beams which came from their staff.
"Who are you?" Robin asked, watching around him, he then noticed three of his teammates were missing. He hoped that the mysterious woman wouldn't notice that too. He hadn't noticed that Raven, Ember and Beast Boy snuck away from the battle to help inside the bank.
Robin watched as Cyborg fought three of the soldiers, who ended up on top of him, Cyborg shook the soldiers off and blasted them with his Sonic Boom. The soldiers tumbled down to the ground like rag dolls, thinking the fight was over Cyborg grinned. "Booyah! Huh?" Cyborg then gave a loud exclamation when one of the soldiers climbed on his back and started messing around with his system.
"Yo! Get outta my system!" Cyborg yelled out, trying his hardest to shake the soldier off his back. "Can't ya hear me?" He then dropped onto his back to shake the soldier off, he sighed in relief when he got up seeing the soldier laying on the ground. He then aimed his Sonic Boom at the soldier and blasted him several times, smoke filled the air for a moment and when it cleared the soldier still stayed at the same spot, without a scratch or dent on it. "WHAT?! How is this even possible?" He asked himself. "Who is this girl?"
"Who am I? I'm Megumi, Slade's wife and your worst nightmare, while you were busy fighting my lovely soldiers. I managed to summon enough of my power to destroy you!" Megumi said, holding a giant ball of ice in her hands which was about the same size of a three-story building.
"NO!" Robin gasped when he saw the giant ball of ice, grabbing a few of his Smoke Bombs ready to leave the fight for the sake of his friends. He was about to give in with the fight when he saw three of his missing team mates on the roof behind Megumi. He grinned and put the Smoke Bombs back into his utility belt.
Raven and Ember had just finished defrosting at least twelve customers of the bank and had placed them in the recovery position they then called for ambulance and police, while Beast Boy turned into a dog to try and track down the ghost boy. He had no luck picking up the ghost boy's scent but managed to pick up Megumi's scent instead considering he already knew where she was, he then turned back to his normal self then looked back at the girls, feeling disappointed.
"I can't find the ghost kid's scent... It's almost like he wasn't even here! Maybe we missed him or something..." Beast Boy told them shrugging his shoulders.
"Then what happens now?" Ember asked, she suddenly looked outside through a window of the bank and gasped, seeing Cyborg being attacked by three soldiers, she quickly told Raven and Beast Boy.
"We should pay Megumi a visit... I have a plan, follow me" Raven responded, putting on her hood. The three Titans left the bank and went to the roof, Raven helped Ember up since she couldn't fly.
Beast Boy gasped watching Megumi bringing a large ball of ice over her head, ready to throw it at the other Titans.
"NOW, Beast Boy!" Raven exclaimed, pointing to Megumi.
Beast Boy turned into a rhino and raced towards Megumi, head butting her off the building, Raven raced towards the end of the building watching as Starfire, carried Cyborg and Robin to the roof to safety.
The ball of ice immediately vanished when Megumi hit the ground hard. Her soldiers stopped fighting and raced to her side, to check if she was ok.
Ember jumped down from the roof landing on her feet, Raven watched the new Titan as she took her gloves off and shoved them into her pockets. Ember then pressed her hands against the ground hard, she focused on her powers to bring six totem poles made out of earth underneath Megumi. Ember pushed harder onto the ground and cried out, she watched as six large totem poles shot out from the ground at high-speed underneath Megumi and her soldiers, sending the group into the sky. A star twinkled once in the sky then vanished.
The Titans watched their newest member in amazement. Raven was impressed with Ember sending Megumi into the sky, but she didn't show it.
"Wow, that was so cool! How did you do that?" Cyborg asked, joining Ember's side once again.
"Terra used to have earth powers too" Starfire smiled, flying down by Ember's side. "It looks like we have a new friend with earth powers."
Ember felt awkward when Starfire said that. "Mine might be different though, I can't use mine the way she did with hers at least not yet. I haven't mastered my powers."
"Great job, Ember, with some more training you'd make a good addition to the team!" Robin smiled and handed her a new communicator.
"Really? You mean it?" Ember cried out with excitement, accepting the communicator after putting her gloves back on. "Thank you so much! I'll do my best as a Teen Titan." Robin nodded smiling to Ember.
Cyborg smiled looking at her. "We'll be looking forward to see what you can do with your powers!"
Ember put the communicator into her pocket. "Isn't this great, Raven?" She smiled looking at the goth Titan.
"I can hardly control my excitement..." Raven replied sarcastically, rolling her eyes. 'Even though she did pretty good with the bank, I still don't trust her...' she thought.
The Titans returned to Titans Tower after searching for the ghost boy and having no lead. They met up in the Main Room and began talking about Megumi, wondering who she was and what she wanted. They wondered what happened to the ghost boy.
"I couldn't find him anywhere when we went into the bank" Beast Boy said, putting his hand under his chin as if he was in a deep thought. After defeating Megumi and her soldiers, the Titans went back to the bank to see if they could find the ghost boy, however, they couldn't find a trace of him.
"Could he have been a mistake by the computer?" Starfire asked.
"We also scanned the bank to see if anything has been stolen. A large amount of money has but I presume that's what Megumi took" Ember said, sitting down on the couch in the main room.
"Or the ghost boy... When I heard the reports, they said he was taking money out of the safe..." Robin added, joining Ember on the couch, along with Starfire beside him.
"I couldn't sense him anywhere" Raven said, sitting down on the ground. "Either we missed him, or he was just a glitch in the system...It's hard to tell at the moment."
"My night vision scanners couldn't pick him up either" Cyborg joined in, with a frown wondering if this ghost boy even existed.
"I can usually pick up any smell, but the ghost boy left no scent" Beast Boy said looking concerned as he sat with Raven.
"It's like he's a hologram or something!" Ember suggested trying to figure out this puzzle.
"It feels that way, but I wonder if there's more to it" Robin said.
"Excellent work Megumi... Even though the Titans defeated you, you managed to find a new apprentice for us. That's if we can get this girl to join us... We'll have to watch Ember to see what she's like and how her powers work"
"Do you really think she'd make a good apprentice? I never expected her to have powers like that. She seems weak at the moment though..." Megumi sighed, rubbing a few bruises.
"True, she does appear weak. So did Terra but look how she came out, though Terra sacrificed her life to stop me."
"But that didn't work since you're invincible Slade."
"That I am... We'll have to keep a closer eye out on Ember and hope she doesn't have the power to sacrifice herself. You and I have tried many times unsuccessfully to restore Terra's life soon after she petrified herself. I wonder if we should try again on a stormy night" Slade said after a while.
"Why do you like Terra so much dearest?" Megumi asked, looking at her husband, she smiled and sat with him on the ground.
"I just find her useful. She gave me the list of the Titan's weakness, I'm sure Ember would if we can lure her over to our side..." Slade replied. "You could say Terra's kind of like a daughter to me..."
"Apparently Ember has fire powers too... According to these CCTV videos from the bank. She was helping the goth girl defrost the customers that I have frozen. The powers seem unique for her, I have never seen someone with Fire and Earth powers. I'm looking forward to see her future battles." Megumi said, watching the TV screen.
"Ember would make an excellent villain. I saw her when she set her house on fire. I've been watching her for some time" Slade said imagining the chaos he, Ember and Megumi could cause in Jump City together. "The Titans may have her now, however, they might not have her too much longer!"
Robin had been telling Ember all about Terra, figuring she should know about her, either way she'd learn about the former Titan one way or the other. Ember listened in interest; she didn't know what to think of until Raven entered the room. He was sitting on the couch with Ember and Starfire while Cyborg busied himself with designing Ember's room. Beast Boy was in his room.
"And when Terra went out on a date with Beast Boy..." Robin began, he then saw Raven entering the room, her eyes glowed red with anger at the mention of Terra.
"Hi Raven!" Robin quickly tried changing topic.
"We're just talking about Terra..." Ember began, looking at the goth nervously.
Raven's eyes glowed a darker red, at the mention of the blonde, a light bulb burst in the background.
"Raven?" Beast Boy's voice called for her. Raven calmed down and left the room.
"What was that about?" Ember asked, watching as Raven left the room after hearing Beast Boy call her name. She noticed that Raven got angry with the mention of Terra - though it was mentioned earlier Ember didn't really understand the situation since it wasn't on the news.
"Terra and Raven never really got along. For some reason she and I couldn't fully trust her like the others did... Beast Boy was closest to Terra" Robin explained.
"Terra was fun to do the painting of the nails with and styling the hair" Starfire joined in, holding some food in her hands, she had just been cooking. "I wish she were back."
"If Terra does come back... I doubt Raven would ever forgive her" Robin pointed out. "Especially now Raven's close friends with Beast Boy."
"I guess that makes sense. It's a shame Terra turned out that way" Ember said, wishing she could've been there when that happened.
"It's part of the reason why we're cautious about Titans joining us now" Robin said. "We've learned our mistake with her."
"Would you give her another chance if she was back?" Ember asked curiously.
Starfire looked at Robin excitedly when Ember said that. She had missed the blonde.
"I'm not really sure, honestly, Ember. It's a hard one. We promised Beast Boy one more chance with her but now he's close to Raven - I don't want Terra to ruin the friendship they've got together" Robin said.
"Good point! What are we going to do now?" Cyborg asked since they finished the battle and had no leads on the Ghost Boy.
"We'll have to keep an eye out for any leads on this ghost boy and Megumi to see if they're connected. Maybe he's a hologram like Ember suggested" Robin answered. "As for now, I'm going to see if I can find any more information about Megumi and Slade to see if they have any connection with this ghost boy, if you want me, I'll be in the evidence room" Robin said then left the Main Room - making Starfire somewhat disappointed, she was hoping to spend time with him, but she knew what he was like.
"Friend, Ember, what are you going to do now?" Starfire asked. "Might you wish to do the painting of the toenails with me?" she added smiling to her.
"I'd love to do that, Starfire, it sounds fun" Ember answered. "What are you going to do, Cy?'
"I'm going to work on something I have in mind" Cyborg said - he had plans to build in wings for his T-Car so if he needed to, he could make it fly.
Raven was in her room reading one of her spooky books she got from the store a few days ago while Beast Boy started working on a song to make Raven.
Starfire took Ember to her room, Ember stared at Starfire's room in amazement seeing how pretty it looked. "Wow, your room looks incredible, Starfire" she commented, noticing Starfire had a picture of her and Robin above the bed, sharing a kiss in Tokyo as a new addition to her room. She noticed a bug sleeping on Starfire's bed.
"Thank you, friend, Ember. Silkie! Oh, my sweet bumgorf!" Starfire said as she flew over to her bed picking up the cute bug. "Friend, Ember, meet Silkie. He is our pet, and a great companion" Starfire hugged him.
"Aww, Silkie is so cute" Ember commented, wanting to pat the bug. Starfire smiled in delight to Ember's reply and gave Silkie to her - much to Ember's surprise he wasn't too heavy even though he looked it.
"Aww you're a cutie, Silkie! I'm Ember and it's nice to meet you" Ember said, giving the bug a pet. Silkie licked her face and sat in her arms, smiling as he watched Starfire fly to her drawers, looking for nail polish.
Smiling, Starfire found the colours she needed. "Do you wish for me to do your hair too?" she asked in excitement. "Friend Raven isn't interested in these Earthly activities and nor is boyfriend Robin, though he sleeps with me at night. Hm, will it affect your feet if you take your shoes off?" Starfire blushed as she mentioned Robin sleeping with her. They only started doing that a month ago.
"Yes please, would you like me to do your hair too, Starfire?" Ember asked - enjoying herself with her. "Do you do other things with Raven? I guess that makes sense with Robin. No, my powers only effect my hands. My feet don't go on fire like my hands do" Ember took her shoes and socks off while Starfire lined up the nail polish. The nail polish was neatly lined up, Ember noticed she appeared to have every shade.
"Yes please, friend, Ember. Sometimes I might be able to convince friend Raven to do this but it's rare. We go to the creepy cafes she likes and hang out there and do other things together" Starfire said smiling to Ember.
"Creepy cafes? I love spooky places!" Ember said in excitement.
"Friend Raven and you share that in common, Ember. Which colour would you like first?" Starfire said pointing to the nail polish collection. Ember still had Silkie on her lap, he seemed comfortable sitting on her, and she didn't want to move him.
Robin was in the evidence room, scanning for traces of Megumi he might have missed through his Slade files, so far, he wasn't having any luck tracking things down. "It's like she doesn't really exist... or doesn't want to be known" he said to himself as he read all the Slade files again.
"And that ghost kid seems to be a mystery too, he doesn't have an identity at the moment, and we haven't seen traces of him in our previous cases" Robin added as he looked through the pictures to see if he could find him on any with a criminal they've defeated.
"This just doesn't make any sense. Why is it hard to track down Megumi? Why is Slade hiding her from us - more importantly he should be dead - Terra defeated him yet, Megumi talks about him as if he's alive..." Robin added remembering the day Terra brought Slade down. "There's gotta be more to it!" he picked up the communicator and dialed Cyborg to see what he could come up with.
Cyborg worked in the driveway of the Titans Tower on a blueprint to add wings on the T-Car. 'Never know when wings come in handy' he thought. 'Sure, I have them on the T-Ship, but the car might need them too!' He worked tirelessly for the perfect design but had no luck with figuring out what he wanted it to look like or where they could fit. Just as he was about to give up for a while, his communicator went off.
"Yes Rob?"
"Cyborg, can I talk to you? Meet me in the evidence room"
"Right, I'll see you soon" Cyborg got up and left his blueprints behind making up his mind to come back to it later.
Beast Boy sat in his room as he wrote down plans for his song for Raven. "The thing is, I don't want it to be the same as Beast Boy has in Teen Titans Go, I want it to be different but for her. Unlike him, I won't upload this song to the internet - I want this song just to be for her only. I have the girlfriend ring ready if she accepts and the roses, I just need the song and setting" he said as he sat at his desk, writing on paper with a pen. In his room was a bin full of screwed up paper - songs that didn't appear to work out right for him.
'I want to do this before it's too late, before someone else claims her! That'll break my heart' Beast Boy thought as he imagined Raven with someone like Kyd Wykkyd.
'I could do it the old fashion way like I did with Terra, but then it's not special... Like I said to the guys it has to be perfect! So, the plan is either being in Raven's room or Titans Tower roof as a tiger, with a radio that plays the background music and myself singing the song similar to what he did but different song all together. Their Raven isn't the reason why I love ours' he continued on with his thoughts as he wrote down another version of a song. He put a few songs on the pile on the table that he thought she might like. 'Robin got it easy with Star - she loves everybody, Raven's different but that's why I love her' he thought smiling.
A man with a giant spider for a head talked to a young girl with blonde hair. The two lovers were sitting at the beach watching as people ran away from them, except for another girl. It was in the afternoon and the beach was once crowded until these two showed up.
"I'm surprised she didn't run away from you, Fangy Pooh" the girl gushed and laughed as the rest of the beach goers did.
"Maybe she likes me" Fang responded, earning a slap from the girl. "Kitten, now be reasonable!"
"You jerk! I didn't know you were dating her hmph!" with that, Kitten fled, crying.
"But Kitten!" Fang cried out raising his hand as he watched her leave in dismay - it was too late, she already left him thinking he was seeing this woman. "Now what, I lost the love of my life. Thanks to you" he looked at the woman nearby who was terrified of him.
"G-g-get - a way from me y-you u-ugly thing! I don't have fly spray on me!" the woman said shaking as she spoke.
"Fly spray wouldn't even work on me, sweetheart" Fang said kneeling down towards the frightened woman, checking her out. "Since Kitten ran off from me, you'll do!" Fang went to grab the woman's hand except the woman managed to get up and flee, not daring to look back.
'Dumb woman, I was going to ask her what size her fingers were so I can get a ring for Kitten! Was going to do that too with Kitten but she ran off before I could try' Fang thought then left the beach.
Crying as she sat on her bed, Kitten looked at her father who was annoyed that she called him from the basement. "Daddy! Daddy! My stupid ex-boyfriend Fang broke up with me, AGAIN! Can you believe it? One moment we were at the beach, watching people flee, then the next moment, he was ogling another woman! UGH! He was going to take me on another date tonight, Daddy to the carnival but now I have nobody else to go with! UGH!" Kitten said at a fast pace as she cried. In her room was a picture of her and Fang in happier times, the rest of her room was a mess with clothes scattered on the floor.
"Now, now, Kitten. What do you want me to do for you this time? I can't get you Robin since he's with Starfire" Killer Moth said as he sat with his devastated daughter.
"That alien stole my Robbie Pooh! Hm how about the green one? He's kind of cute in a weird way!" Kitten suggested thinking of Beast Boy and herself wrapping her arms around him.
"Do you really think that's a good idea to get the green one with you?" Killer Moth asked remembering what the Titans were like last time.
"Yes, Daddy! He'd be a perfect replacement. Who is to know, perhaps he might be your son in law! Ring the Titans and tell them we have detonators planted around the city!" Kitten said smiling at bit.
Killer Moth looked at Kitten in disbelief. He couldn't believe what his daughter was telling him to do. Sure, he loved her, and would do anything to make his little girl happy but setting another date with a different Teen Titan was a risk. "I'll give them a call tonight after sunset - I'm kind of busy right now Kitten" he said as he patted his daughter on her back.
"Okay, Daddy! If the green one won't take me then that big guy will do" Kitten said referring to Cyborg.
"What are your thoughts on this, Cyborg?" Robin asked after telling him everything he had learned so far about Megumi and the ghost kid.
"You know, that's a good question. I'm not even sure what to think of this Megumi chick or ghost kid. My question is - if Slade is really alive how did he escape Terra's curse? Unless... he was restored the same way Terra was" he suggested, causing Robin to stare at him in disbelief.
"You mean?"
"Yeah"
"This is bad. There's a possibility this mad man will be on the lose again!"
"Great! Just to think we had finally stopped Slade - it turns out our enemy might be back somehow" Cyborg sighed. "How will we track the guy down?"
"That's the hard part, Cy. I'm not sure if there's any leads yet, like at the bank, Megumi never left a trace and according to the CCTV, the ice bots vanished after she did" Robin said concerned.
"Man, this is a tough one!"
"No kidding. Now we have to defeat him again, worst part is - he is probably stronger than ever" Robin complained, determined to bring him down once more.
"Wow, Starfire, they look so pretty. Thank you" Ember said smiling as she looked at her toenails. She wished she could get her fingernails done too, however; due to her powers it wasn't a good idea.
"I welcome you, friend, Ember. Now it's my turn, I'll put Silkie on my bed then feed him afterwards" Starfire said smiling as she picked the bug from Ember and put him on her bed.
Ember painted Starfire's toenails after the alien told her what colours she'd like them painted. Ember was really enjoying herself with Starfire and thought she was fun to hang out with.
"AHAH! That's perfect" Beast Boy exclaimed at last happy with a song he wrote for Raven. "I only hope she likes it! Now for the plan" Beast Boy grinned. He had already worked on the tune for the song so now that was on a tape and had sung it. Now his goal was to lure Raven to Titans Tower roof. Smiling, the Titan quickly grabbed the small box again and the bouquet of roses he had bought. He tucked the radio under his arm, and held the bouquet of roses in his hand, he picked one rose out to do the petal trail to Titans Tower roof. He started from Raven's room and dropped a note on the ground, then led the trail to the roof. Pleased with his work, Beast Boy sat on the edge of the Titans Tower roof ready to watch the sunset. He turned into a tiger and placed the radio and remaining bouquet of roses near his belly. 'Now to wait' Beast Boy thought, hoping his plan will work.
Moments later, Raven closed her book and put it on her bed. She left her room meaning to get a drink and noticed a piece of paper on the ground.
"Follow this, Mama - Beast Boy" Raven read on the note. 'Even if he didn't put the note there, I would've followed' Raven thought as she curiously followed the trail of petals. She noticed they took her to Titans Tower roof and saw Beast Boy laying in tiger form. 'Is he?' she thought.
'AH! He's so cute as a tiger' Love said to Raven, who tried ignoring her emoticons.
'Ooh look at him now, he's getting up and morphing into his handsome human form' Happy gushed.
'Now he's turning on a radio, what's he going to do, Raven? Maybe he's going to say he's in love with Terra' Timid said.
'Not now you three!' Raven pushed her emoticons back and watched Beast Boy. "What are you doing?" she asked in her monotone voice.
Beast Boy smiled and looked at Raven lovingly - he held his hand out pretending he had a microphone. "I wrote this for you, Raven" he said, getting ready to sing when the beat came in.
Raven looked at him in interest, hiding a blush under her hood as he sung the song to her. She listened to the words and felt Happy, Love and Timid trying to push their way through again.
When he stopped, Beast Boy turned the radio off. "I love you, Rae and always will. Will you be my girlfriend?" he asked digging for his pocket for the box. Blushing, Raven took her hood off and was about to answer when their alarms went off.
"I'll give you my answer after the battle" Raven said as the two made their way to the main room.
'Damn! I should've asked her instead of doing the song' Beast Boy thought. 'Now she'll never go out with me!'
Robin turned the screen on and at once saw Killer Moth and Kitten. "You again" he said in annoyance. Starfire, Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Raven stared at the screen.
"Hiya, Robbie Pooh, your Kitten is back, meow!" Kitten said teasingly. Starfire at once flew to the screen with her eyes glowing green.
"He is mine, not yours" Starfire said with a huff, she flew back to Robin.
"What do you want this time?" Robin asked.
Kitten and Killer Moth looked at the Titans.
"I have hidden detonators in the city, unless you want the city destroyed, my demands are simple - Kitten wants to go on a date tonight..."
"WHAT?!" Starfire yelled at the screen wanting to hit Kitten.
Ember watched on. "I take it something happened before?" she whispered to Cyborg who nodded.
"I'll tell you about it later" Cyborg whispered back.
"I don't want you this time, Robbie Pooh!"
"Then what do you want?"
"I want the green one"
Raven glared at Kitten; a light bulb burst in the background as she looked at the blonde in anger.
"You've gotta be kiddin' me! I'm not interested in you that way, Kitten" Beast Boy said placing his hand on Raven's shoulder.
"It doesn't work that way, Beast Boy. You have no choice - you either go out with me on a date or your precious city gets destroyed and you'll never get to see your Tower again" Kitten smirked as she held a remote of some kind in her hand.
"You wouldn't!" Raven glared at Kitten again, she was partly tempted to send her to another dimension, but she knew that wouldn't be good for this situation, Killer Moth could ruin the city instead, if she did that.
"What's the matter, goth girl - am I stealing your boyfriend?" Kitten teased, waiting to get a reaction out of Raven but Raven had better ideas for that night.
Beast Boy remembered what happened when Robin had been in the same situation - he had to ask her out on a date. Gulping, Beast Boy looked at her anxiously.
'Yes, you are attempting to steal my Beast Boy, but I'll give you a night you'll never forget, I promise' Raven thought to herself. 'I'm not letting him go that easy, Kitten.'
"Uhm... Kitten..."
"Yes, Beastie Bear?"
"Don't call him that" Raven warned her, earning a look from the other Titans who were surprised at her reaction.
"Will you.. uh..." Beast Boy struggled. 'How do you ask a girl out when you don't even like her?' Beast Boy thought. "Go on a... date... with... me tonight?" he slowly asked.
"Oh, Beast Boy, yes, I will! I'm looking forward to it. Meet me at the carnival" Kitten said in delight then switched off.
"Tell me that didn't just happen..." Beast Boy complained in disgust. "Yuck! I can't believe I had to ask her out!"
"It did happen, and Kitten's going to get a night she'll regret" Raven said, already plotting her revenge.
"Beast Boy, I'll let you borrow my tuxedo - you should easily fit in that one. I'll also give you some tips with Kitten. Ember, Cy, Star, let's search for the detonators, Raven, keep an eye out on Kitten and Beast Boy" Robin said, at once the Titans split up.
Ember followed Cyborg and Starfire, while Raven went off to her room, Beast Boy and Robin went to Robin's room to get Robin's tuxedo.
"How'd it go?" Robin asked Beast Boy referring to his confession with Raven.
"I told her - but before I could get an answer this came up" Beast Boy answered sounding disappointed.
"I'm sorry! I know what that's like. Took me a few tries until Star and I got together. I hope it all works out though, Beast Boy. You and Raven would make a great couple" Robin said smiling to him. He took Beast Boy into his room and went through his wardrobe and found the tuxedo he had used for the date with Kitten - he already washed it, so Beast Boy didn't need to worry about that.
Robin measured it against him and smiled. "It should fit you!"
"Thanks, Robin. I owe you for everything" Beast Boy said as he gently took the tuxedo. "Though I wish this was for Rae and me instead. I intend to give Kitten the worst date of her life."
"Just be careful how you do it, Beast Boy since she has that remote... She's bossy and not to mention her breath stinks - she attempted to kiss me so she may do that to you as well!" Robin told him in preparation of the date.
"Thanks for the warning, Robin" Beast Boy said - shuddering at the thought of Kitten attempting to kiss him. 'I want Raven to have my first kiss, not Kitten' he thought.
A while later, Robin left to join the other Titans for the search of the detonators. Beast Boy was now wearing his tuxedo and Raven was in her usual clothing, Cyborg dropped Beast Boy off at the carnival, though Raven was nowhere to be found at least not yet.
Beast Boy let out a sigh after Cyborg left in the T-Car. "Really hoping she doesn't show up..." he groaned unaware that Robin had used that line before, no sooner after he said that he felt someone tapping his shoulder, looking around he smiled seeing Raven wearing a navy-blue formal dress which had a slit on one of her legs, along with her cape.
"Raven? What are you?" Beast Boy stared at the sight of her - he didn't expect her to be dressed up.
"Robin's orders were to keep an eye out on you and Kitten. I intend to keep an eye out on her, and I think this might look better with the tuxedo" Raven told him as she put a red rose on the pocket of the tuxedo jacket.
Beast Boy smiled, before he could say another word, he saw a pink limousine pull up at the carnival. "This must be her" Beast Boy said with a groan.
Raven at once hid in the shadows, she already had paid for her carnival ticket.
"Yooo hooo! Beast Boy! Your Kitten has arrived, meeeoww" the backdoor of the limousine opened, and Kitten got out with a smile on her face. Kitten got out in great excitement and tripped over her long pink dress, landing face first on the dirt, earning a laugh from everyone watching the scene. She pretended to be weak to get sympathy and spotted Beast Boy.
"Beast Boy, help me up" Kitten demanded. Beast Boy walked over and frowned at her.
"You can get up yourself, Kitten" Beast Boy commented. 'If that were Raven then yeah, but it's not.'
"Help me up now or the city will be destroyed" Kitten threatened, worried about her words, Beast Boy lifted her up, looking rather grim as he saw her.
"Will it kill you to smile?" Kitten asked.
"Possibly" Beast Boy answered - unaware that Robin went through this either.
Raven watched in the shadows, angrily at how Kitten had been treating him so far. She watched as the two walked close to the entrance.
"Compliment me on my looks" Kitten said.
"Why?"
"Just do it"
"Uhm... You look nice?" Beast Boy said, feeling uncomfortable with her. Raven stayed close to the two, glaring at Kitten as she watched them.
"Oh, Beast Boy! You are so kind! You're the best boyfriend ever" Kitten gushed hugging him, making Beast Boy shudder as she did. "Now pay for the entrance fee, I didn't bring money with me!"
Beast Boy felt uncomfortable when she said that. "What? You gotta be kidding me!" he grumbled obeying her, Raven looked around to see if she could pry Kitten away from Beast Boy, smirking, an idea came to her mind while Beast Boy paid the entrance fee, Kitten waited away from him. Raven took that chance to use her powers to pick up the nearby rubbish bin and tip it upside-down on Kitten, who screamed in fright.
"You look way better, Kitten" Beast Boy commented after paying the entrance fee, Kitten slapped him in return of his comment. He had a hunch Raven did that.
"You're meant to be nice, Beast Boy or the city will be destroyed, now help me take the rubbish off me" Kitten hissed.
"Uh, I'm allergic to some of that stuff so I'll let you do that" Beast Boy said attempting to avoiding helping her. Kitten frowned and lifted the bin from herself and flicked a banana skin on his skin, angering Raven who planned to get her back when they go on rides...
"What do detonators look like, Cyborg?" Ember asked as she sat in his passenger side of the T-Car. Since both she and Cyborg couldn't fly, she went with him. Cyborg explained to her and what they did.
"They sound dreadful! How do we stop them if we find them?" Ember asked.
"I'll show you when we get to one, Ember then you can do the next one - it's pretty straight forward when you get the hang of it" Cyborg said smiling to her.
Robin and Starfire were on the R-Cycle, making their way to their detonator locations. "What if they were not real like last time?" Starfire asked in concern.
"Then, we'll pay Killer Moth a visit" Robin said. "And tell Beast Boy he can end his date with Kitten" he added.
"Last one! I swear if that happens again, I'm going to tip it all on you! I bet you did it while I wasn't looking" Kitten snapped as she put the last bit of rubbish - a chewed up bubble gum on the ground.
"Truthfully, it suited you, Kitten" Beast Boy commented, earning another whack from her.
'Hit him again and I'll send you to another dimension after he breaks up with you' Raven thought as she hatched another plan to rescue him from this situation.
"Very funny, Beast Boy. You're supposed to be my boyfriend, remember? Now let's go we have a lot of things to do tonight, or we can go straight to the kissing" Kitten puckered up her lips and did kissy faces to Beast Boy, that alone angered Raven again, she watched on and saw him his finger on Kitten's lips, to push her away.
"Heh, why don't we do something else?" Beast Boy suggested cringing at the thought of kissing her.
"That's a great idea, Beast Boy! Let's go on the bumper cars!" Kitten exclaimed and grabbed his hand in delight.
Normally he'd be up for that if he was with a friend, but bumper cars with Kitten didn't sound fun. "I find bumper cars boring" Beast Boy lied. They were one of his many favourite attractions - he just didn't want to be with Kitten.
"Let's go straight to the kissing then" Kitten said puckering up again. Raven noticed a small rock nearby and used her powers to pick it up when Kitten was attempting to kiss Beast Boy, she then aimed it at Kitten's head, who quickly ducked much to Raven's annoyance.
"Where'd that rock come from?" Kitten demanded. "That almost hit me"
"Too bad it didn't. It would've knocked some sense into you" Beast Boy said quietly. Kitten grabbed his hand and dragged him over to the bumper cars, with Raven following in the shadows, planning another fun attack.
"We don't seem to be having any luck finding a detonator even though Killer Moth left the instructions, I wonder if he made it up like he did last time" Cyborg complained.
"Does he do things like this?" Ember asked.
"Lie? Yeah, he's pretty good at that. He's good at picking a fight too" Cyborg answered.
Robin and Starfire weren't having much luck either.
"We'll have another look; Star then tell Beast Boy to call it quits with Kitten" Robin said. Starfire nodded. The four Titans looked at the locations that Killer Moth had left behind and had no luck finding them.
When it was their turn to get on the bumper cars, Kitten chose a pink car while Beast Boy chose a green one. Raven watched on in the shadows, her plan was about to work. Kitten pressed her foot down to go forward, however, Raven used her powers to move her car backwards.
"Stupid car! I said forward, not backwards" Kitten hissed, hitting the steering wheel. She stepped on the breaks but that didn't seem to work as Raven made the car go forward instead.
Beast Boy watched in amusement, he knew it was Raven doing it and had a laugh. "Who knew you were a bad driver too, Kitten" he joked.
"Shut up and help me with this thing" Kitten hissed as she tried driving close to him, instead Raven made the car spin in circles, making Kitten a bit dizzy afterwards.
"Get... me... .offff... thiss... stupid... ride" Kitten said feeling sick after a while. Raven made the car bump in the end of the bumper car ride and stopped it. She watched Kitten to see what she'd do next.
"Now let's try again" Kitten said, trying to move her car, however, she didn't have much luck as Raven held it with her powers, Kitten was oblivious to that.
"This car is broken!" Kitten said and got out. "Come on, Beast Boy, let's go on another ride" she began walking to the entrance, unaware that her pink car was following her, it knocked her over before Beast Boy got out.
"BEAST BOY! Help me up" Kitten demanded - although she was unhurt, she could get up herself.
"Can't, I'm tying up my shoe" Beast Boy said, pretending to fiddle with his shoelaces, in reality - he was glancing at Raven in the shadows. Kitten groaned and got up.
"Fine. Now let's go on another ride how about the Merry-go-round? Surely that's not a broken one" Kitten said as she walked out of the bumper car ride. She noticed the ride keeper there talking to another client.
"Hey, ride keep. Your pink car just about killed me!" Kitten hissed. "It wouldn't do a thing I told it to, maybe you should get your cars all looked at!" with that, Kitten stormed off before the ride keeper could say another word.
"I take it you're forced to go with her, Beast Boy?" the ride keeper asked, noticing the mortified look on the green teen's face.
"Your cars are fine it's just her who isn't and yes, I am" Beast Boy said with a groan.
"Good luck, then Beast Boy and thank you" the ride keeper said giving the teen thumbs up.
Kitten was now yelling at a random kid who was holding a teddy bear.
"Give me that bear" Kitten hissed.
"No way, ma'am!" the kid said, gripping hold of his teddy bear.
"I said give it to me!"
"Kitten, leave that kid alone. You can win them over there" Beast Boy said humiliated about her behavior, he pointed to a sideshow which had hundreds of the same teddy.
Kitten at once huffed and walked over to the side show, leaving Beast Boy alone with the boy.
"Sorry about her, kid, here's a little something for you" Beast Boy then gave him a five dollar note.
The kid looked at him with his eyes wide opened. "Thank you, Beast Boy. She's weird - I thought Raven was your girlfriend not her!"
"You're welcome, I hope you can find something you like. No, Kitten's not really mine I just have to take her out tonight, I'd better get going before she starts screaming her head off again! Maybe someday Raven and I will be together" Beast Boy said then ran off after Kitten.
The kid looked at Beast Boy and the five dollars note he had given him. "Cool! When I grow up, I want to be like him!" he said in admiration. "I didn't get to say he's my favourite Titan!"
Kitten was now at the side show alley eying the teddies that the boy had won. "Hey lady, give me one of those teddies and make with the haste!"
The woman she was talking to was slim and wore glasses. "Don't you 'hey lady' me. I don't work that way! These teddies aren't free, and you have to win them first!"
"You gotta be kidding me?"
"Nope, I don't kid! It's only fair"
Raven watched this event unfold, she longed to throw the teddies on to Kitten but only at the right moment.
"BEAST BOY!" Kitten yelled out - embarrassing him.
"I'm right here... Kitten. I thought you wanted to go on the Merry-Go-Round" Beast Boy said calmly though he was getting frustrated with her.
The woman behind the sideshow stared at Beast Boy in surprise. "You could do so much better than her, Beast Boy. I'm really surprised you're dating this thing! I thought you would've been with Raven or Starfire at least, don't tell me this girl is on your team, what a disgrace!"
Beast Boy longed to tell her the truth, he too was ashamed of Kitten's behavior. Kitten walked away for a moment eying another side show she wanted.
"Thing is, I'm forced to otherwise her dad would destroy the city, so I haven't got much of a choice" Beast Boy quickly whispered to her.
"Sorry to hear that and I take my word back! I have a few ideas up my sleeve to give her a bad time" the woman smirked.
'So do I' Raven thought overhearing the conversation.
Raven looked around and noticed Kitten was attempting to put a ring around a bottle to win a prize, smirking, Raven kept making the rings miss and end up in random places. One ring ended up in the bin, the other on the roof and another on the head of the side show keeper.
"One more try!" Kitten begged. "I really want that kitten" she insisted.
"Your last chance, kid. One more wrong turn and you're out" the sideshow keeper warned her. Beast Boy left Kitten for a moment and found Raven in the shadows.
"Thanks for helping out, Rae. I really wish I can end this, she's so embarrassing" Beast Boy said then sighed.
"You're welcome and you'd better get back to her before she finds you missing" Raven said. "I'll talk to you afterwards about earlier."
Beast Boy nodded and left. "If she's with you, take her out of my sight!" the sideshow keeper demanded glaring at Kitten who had made an absolute mess on all his rings.
While Beast Boy was gone - she attempted to win a prize, however, she failed so she got onto of the counter and started kicking things over. 'I've got so much explaining to do with these sideshow keepers, especially if I want to take Rae on a date here!' he thought grabbing Kitten's arm. "C'mon let's go on the Merry-go-Round" he said, watching as Kitten held his hand. Together the two made their way to the ride, with Raven following in the shadows.
"Still no luck and this is the second time we've had a hunt around" Cyborg moaned.
"Maybe he's lying about them?" Ember suggested.
"Sounds this way. I'll give it a couple more tries and if no luck I'll call Rob and let him know" Cyborg said. He and Ember had a second search for the detonators and had no luck.
"You've gotta be kidding me, still nothing?" Robin said in frustration. "We'll try a couple more times but if no luck, I'll let the others know" he added. He and Starfire too tried their luck in looking for the detonators but found nothing.
"Boyfriend, Robin, it's beginning to feel a lot like last time" Starfire commented.
"It feels that way, doesn't it, Star?" Robin said agreeing with her. "I feel like he likes sending us on a wild goose chase"
Starfire nodded. "Except there is nothing"
Kitten and Beast Boy made it to the Merry-go-Round and noticed it was quiet.
"Hey lady, let me on the ride" Kitten said to the ride keeper.
"I didn't think you had a taste in such rude girls, Beast Boy" the ride keeper said.
"You're not the only one who thinks that" Beast Boy said. "Sorry about this, I'll explain later!" he added the last part quietly. "Is there any chance you could make this ride go fast then backwards? Kitten's a villain and unfortunately, I'm forced to take her out" he whispered to the ride keeper.
"Had a feeling you weren't really interested in her. Sure, I can do that. Besides, I thought you had a thing for that goth girl" the ride keeper whispered back.
"You're not the only one who says that about Rae, and yeah I do. Hm, I'll stay off the ride while that's happening" Beast Boy whispered to the ride keeper.
While Beast Boy was whispering to the ride keeper, Kitten got onto the Merry-go-Round and chose a pink horse. She noticed she was the only one on the ride. "Yoo, hoo! Beast Boy, c'mon before the ride starts! We're the only two on it, isn't that romantic?" Kitten called out waving to him.
"Uh, you can go ahead, Kitten. I forgot something; I'll be right back!" Beast Boy said.
"Okay Beast Boy pooh! I'll see you soon!" Kitten called out.
Beast Boy let out a sigh of relief and ran off to call Robin. "Please tell me you found the detonators?" Beast Boy whined as he spoke to Robin. "She's a nightmare!"
"I know how you feel. No, Star and I haven't had much luck finding them, we think it's the same as last time and they lied to us. You can end the date soon if you want" Robin answered, knowing exactly what he was going through.
"Sweet! I'll entertain her a bit longer then put an end to it" Beast Boy said smiling, planning the perfect way to end the date. "Have you told the others?"
"Cy and Ember? Not yet. I think Raven's with you somewhere, when you next see her, let her know - I'll inform Cyborg and Ember now" with that, Robin hung up.
Beast Boy felt relieved knowing he can end his and Kitten's date but first he wanted to do it at the right time. He went back to the Merry-go-Round and noticed that it was going the wrong way and fast, much to his amusement. He noticed Kitten's face turning green.
"STOP!" Kitten yelled out, clinging onto her horse's pole for dear life. The Merry-go-Round came to a sudden stop and when it did, the horse itself came flying off - with the help of Raven. The horse shook Kitten off onto the ground then returned to its normal spot.
"Are you okay, Kitten?" Beast Boy asked pretending to care about her.
"No. That stupid Merry-go-Round spun way too fast, and I feel sick and dizzy. I want to go to the sideshows and win a prize" Kitten answered. "Get me up."
"You're capable of getting up yourself, Kitten" Beast Boy answered. 'How does Fang deal with her attitude?' he thought. 'On second thoughts, I don't want to think about it!'
Kitten groaned and got up - she swayed a bit pretending to feel dizzy and leaned on Beast Boy for support. Beast Boy rolled his eyes.
"Let's go to the side-shows, I want to tell you something afterwards" Beast Boy said.
"Hm? What do you want to tell me?" Kitten asked thinking he wanted to confess his feelings for her.
"You'll find out soon!" Beast Boy said with a grin.
The two made their way to the sideshows, with Raven following in the shadows.
Kitten returned to the sideshow where the woman had many giant teddies and noticed there was a tiger among the prizes. "Ooh, I want that one! Get me that one" Kitten demanded to the lady.
"Ooh, I want you to get manners!" the sideshow keeper said. "Doesn't work that way kid, remember what I told you? You have to win them!"
Beast Boy let out a sigh and paid for the sideshow. "I'll try! Sorry about this, ma'am!" he said and gave her some change. "Actually, Kitten, why don't you give it a shot, I'm sure you can win!" he said as the woman gave Kitten the balls. She had to throw them in a bucket to get the prize.
Raven watched on in interest as Kitten threw a ball, she made that ball aim for one of the teddies, which Raven used her powers to knock all the prizes down on top of Kitten.
"UGH!" Kitten cried out after all the plushies came falling on top of her. The sideshow woman looked on in surprise.
"Nobody's ever done that before" the woman said staring at Kitten in surprise. "Looks like you've claimed all of them! Have fun" she added.
Kitten struggled getting out of the plushies, but it was no good. There were far too many on top of her.
"Kitten, the thing I wanted to tell you? I'm breaking up with you - turns out that your father was lying once again" Beast Boy said then started walking away, when he felt a plushie hit his head. Raven at once joined him after she heard him break up with her.
"Nobody, throws plushies at my boyfriend" Raven said, grabbing the plushie Kitten threw - she chucked it back right at Kitten's face. "And another thing, nobody throws rubbish at him either, yes I saw you throw a banana skin on him."
Beast Boy stared at Raven in surprise - he didn't expect her to call him her boyfriend.
Moments later, people began screaming in the carnival. "THERE'S A SPIDER EATING A MAN!" someone cried out in the crowds, and at once, people fled, even staff hid from them.
Beast Boy and Raven knew at once they meant Fang was coming.
Kitten grabbed another teddy and threw it at Raven. "He's my boyfriend not yours!"
"Actually, he is mine. You forced him to go out with you, all because your boyfriend broke up with you and it sounds like he's here" Raven corrected her. From that moment, Kitten started throwing more plushies at Raven, who started throwing them back at her, Beast Boy joined in the fun.
"GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY GIRL!" Fang cried out, watching as Raven and Kitten throw punches at one another. He went to separate them.
"Keep your legs off my girl!" Beast Boy said then morphed into a gorilla, he then started attacking Fang.
Soon there was a huge fight going on between the four. Raven and Kitten continued throwing plushies at one another, while Beast Boy and Fang fought over both Kitten and Raven.
"Isn't it romantic? They're fighting over me" Kitten commented, stopping for a moment.
"They are not fighting over you!" Raven hissed.
"You're just jealous that I'm prettier than you" Kitten said smiling as she looked at Fang in admiration. "Go Fangy poo! You can defeat him. He's mean and he dumped me! Nobody dumps Kitten!"
Raven rolled her eyes at Kitten's comment. "There's nothing to be jealous about. Why would I want a spider for a boyfriend?"
"Kitten, I'm sorry about earlier" Fang apologized, stopping the fight for a moment. Beast Boy morphed back into his human form and returned to Raven's side.
"I'm sorry about that too, Fang. I really thought you were into that girl"
"No, I wanted to know what ring size you were without asking so I started looking at other women's hands to get an idea. I think I have it, Kitten will you marry me?" Fang knelt down on his knees and took out a blue box.
"Ohh, Fangy pooh! You really do care about me! Yes, I will!" Kitten cried out in excitement, putting her hand out so he could slip the ring on her finger.
Raven and Beast Boy watched on in disgust.
"You know, you two really make a bad couple" Beast Boy said, at once, Fang spat some venom at them, however, Raven quickly put her shield up in time to protect her and Beast Boy.
"Let's never fight again, baby!" Fang said then pressed his lips against hers, Kitten returned his kiss, hugging him as she did.
"Ew, gross!" Raven commented watching the evil couple share a kiss as an engaged one. "Now that's over, let's go to the Ferris Wheel so we can talk" she said, looking at Beast Boy who nodded, Raven used her powers to teleport them to the Ferris Wheel, while Fang and Kitten were busy kissing.
The ride keeper at the Ferris Wheel was still there, much to Beast Boy's surprise. "I see you're no longer with that blonde now" the ride keeper commented.
"I couldn't tolerate her. I'm sorry about her behavior" Beast Boy explained the scenario how he ended up having to date her.
"I can't imagine anything worse. The police are on their way to collect them. You and Raven are welcome to go on the ride for free, think you both earned it" the ride keeper said smiling to the two Titans.
"Thank you. Hopefully, they'll be off the streets for a while at least" Raven said, she then chose their Ferris Wheel cart and climbed on with Beast Boy after her.
Beast Boy sat next to Raven on the cart, smiling as he looked at her.
"About earlier, Beast Boy, when you asked me to be your girlfriend... I didn't get to give you my answer because of this. But now, I can give it to you. My answer is yes - I will be your girlfriend, Beast Boy. I'm not great with this romance stuff - but I can learn with you" Raven told him as the Ferris Wheel went round gently. It came to a stop when Raven and Beast Boy's cart reached the top.
"This is the best moment of my life" Beast Boy smiled referring to her saying yes. "I love you, Raven and always will" he added as he felt for his pockets, smiling, he pulled out a small box and opened it. "I got this ring for you earlier, in case you said yes" he added, showing her the sapphire ring.
"I love you too, Beast Boy. It's beautiful, thank you" Raven said watching as he put the ring on her finger. Smiling, Beast Boy pressed his lips against hers, and put his arms around her, pulling them into their first kiss. Raven wrapped her arms around his shoulders, returning his kiss. Fireworks burst into the night sky as the couple enjoyed their moment together.
