Fear Beaten Back

Tala liked to sleep in, she liked to relax for as long as she was able to. She liked to have fun and to cuddle. She liked her girlfriends big arms keeping her warm and grounded. Now she felt cold. The cold and the sense of loneliness was what woke her up.

"Haz?" She mumbled, her hand reaching for the empty, now cold spot next to her. "Hazal?" Tala sat up a little, her tired eyes scanning the room for any sign of her girlfriend.

Finding none she felt the cold inside her spreading, the sparks and lightning crackling through her fingers, spreading through her body. She took a few deep breaths to calm herself down before getting out of bed to look for Hazal.

Luckily she wasn't looking for too long, the sounds of jabs and heavy breathing leading her towards the training area. Upon peaking inside she saw Hazal with purple and back gusts of smoke radiating off her as she furiously punched and kicked around the punching bag.

As soon as Tala stepped into the room Hazal stopped mid kick, slowly setting her foot down and turning, "Tala," Hazal sighed, long and breathy, her chest heaving, "what wrong? I... are you alright?"

"I am. But I don't think you are." Before Hazal could ask what Tala was refereeing to she found herself enveloped in a lightning speed hug. She took a few steps backwards from the impact but wrapped her arms around her smaller girlfriends non the less. "I thought we were past punching out our emotions. We agreed to talk things out remember?"

"I know." The responce came in a tighter voice than Hazal planned. She could feel the fear threatening to consume her again, to wrap around her and pull her back into the abyss. So much for mastering it. To be fair she did. Before she met the agents she did. Before she met Tala she did. Before she fell in love she mastered fear. "I didn't want to hurt you that's all."

Tala pulled away, confusion written all over her face. She could feel Hazal's muscles shaking, probably from both exhaustion and fear. "You wouldn't hurt me."

At this Hazal's arms tightened, almost too afraid to let go, feeling like Tala would vanish under her fingers, "I already did. You're still scared, and me being close just makes your nightmares worse. How can I sleep knowing that I'm unintentionally hurting the one I love?"

Tala gasped. Time seemed to stand still, which was a rarity for her. She pulled back just a little and looked up into Hazal's mismatched eyes, "You... you love me?"

"Of course. What kind of question is that?" She cupped Tala's face in her hands, it almost seemed to small for them, "I do hope that the feeling is mutual." Thank god that she smirked when she said it because sometimes it was hard to tell if she was joking or not.

Tala jumped into the air, her hands winding around Hazal's neck as she pressed their lips together, both to soothe the fears and to confirm her feelings to her lover. "That clear enough for you?" She rasped against Hazal's slightly parted lips.

"More then. Thank you." Hazal wrapped her arms around Tala's body as she walked backwards and sat on the bench, "And thank you for coming to look for me. It feels easier when I have you here." Tala snuggled closer to her in responce. Maybe she doesn't have powers over people's fears like Hazal can but she'll be damned if she won't be there for her whenever she needs it.
