"What my heart desires? Pah!" Severus slammed the door to his dungeons shut. "If I'd ever get hold of this mirror again, I'd throw it from the highest spot of this castle."
But Snape had to admit, his rage was not addressed against the mirror, it was addressed against his own weakness. – And he felt ridiculous.
All those years of practice to look deterrent and intimidating, and now this mirror gave the lie to him.
Well, yes. – It was the truth.
Severus Snape wanted another person, one who accepted him, one who he could love. – And Hermione was this person.
