SUNDAY WEDDING DAY

Knock Knock

"Come in" Quinn answers over her shoulder, her attention focusing on the stray hair

"You're getting ready in Santana's room?" Kurt smiles, closing the door behind him "How are you doing sweetie?"

"Her mirror and lighting are always better, besides I think she already left" Quinn shrugs "As for how I'm doing, honestly? I'm torn"

Kurt's eyebrows furrow as he pats the bed "Come talk to me"

Quinn smiles, taking a seat next to the young man, resting her head on his shoulder "I came here for Mercedes and Sam, how did things get so out of hand? Last night was an absolute disaster. To be honest I didn't even plan on giving her those papers, not here and probably not ever. I had them drawn up when we first separated. I was hurt and angry that we let our careers tear us apart. Neither of us did anything wrong really, we just lost sight of what really mattered. This is what happens, we get going and the gloves come off you know? She left last night and I felt…like a complete monster. I hate myself for letting Noah be the one who went after her. I don't know if it's being back here, being around everyone or what but I don't know if I'm making the right decision anymore."

"I wish I had the answers you need Quinn. You and Santana are what dreams are made of, mine at least." Kurt smiles and Quinn laughs, gently smacking the young man's thigh "You probably shouldn't be dreaming of Santana and I, K."

"Maybe this will help? Here, read this" Kurt says, handing a stack of papers to Quinn

"What is this?" Quinn asks, furrowing her eyebrows

"It's Santana's manuscript. She's been writing since she got here" He responds, exhaling "It's amazing and I hope it's her next hit"

Quinn immediately refuses "Absolutely not Kurt, you and I both know how Santana is with her writing. If she didn't ask us to read it we can't"

"At least read the dedication" Kurt nods, placing the document on the nightstand. He squeezes his friend's shoulder before closing the door.

Quinn sits on the edge of the bed, debating.

Finally she reaches for the second sheet.

What did she have to lose? Santana already hated her.

"This is dedicated to all the lovers who might have lost their way. Hopefully this serves as a small light in the darkness. May it help to guide us back into the only arms that can hold us, the only arms we truly belong in."

Tears fill Quinn's eyes as she runs her fingers over the words. Where feelings may fail her, Santana always had a way with words. The small yet power dedication told Quinn everything she needed to know. Any doubt or reservations she had were gone. She had been so blind but now she felt as if her eyes were truly open for the first time in a long time. Quinn lifted the paper, leaving a small red lipstick kiss mark before gently placing the paper back.

"You look absolutely beautiful sweetie" Quinn smiles, fixing the stray hair in Mercedes's flower crown

"Thank you Quinn. You know I couldn't have done this without you" Mercedes smiles from the mirror

"Okay it probably isn't anything and there is no need to panic but we may have a small situation" Rachel frowns, carefully closing the door

"You better be kidding Rachel and even if you are, it's not funny" Mercedes eyebrow quirks

Quinn steps back as Rachel steps up "We can't find Santana"

"WHAT?!" Mercedes and Quinn both yell, startling the brunette

"She was with the guys and Sam made a joke about your wedding being better than theirs and…" Rachel looks at Quinn who lowers her head "She said she couldn't do this. We've looked everywhere Mercedes, I'm so sorry"

"I'm going to kill that man just wait!" Mercedes yells

"I'll find her" Quinn finally speaks up

"You heard Rachel, no one knows where she's at. It's Santana, she could be halfway to New York by now. I don't want to lose both of you, not today Quinn" Mercedes responds

"They don't know her like I know her Cedes. I'll find her and we will be back in time for the wedding, I promise." Quinn rushes towards the door, grabbing her jacket.

Quinn stops outside of the church and exhales, she looks out on the sea of cars and notices a maroon dress weaving in between the cars. She grips her dress with both hands and runs off towards the girl.

"Santana! Wait" Quinn calls but Santana's too far ahead

Quinn reaches the end of the courtyard and steadies herself. She yells with everything she has "SANTANA MARIE LOPEZ!"

The brunette's heels skid against the gravel. She immediately stops and turns back, shock evident in her face and it makes Quinn want to laugh. Santana still makes the same oh-shit-I'm-in-trouble face she used to make when Maribel would yell her name across the street.

As much as things change, they stay the same.

"Where are you going?" Quinn yells across the courtyard

"Like you care." Santana shrugs, "I'm leaving, I have no reason to stay. Not anymore" The girl wraps her arms around herself. "It's too hard Q" Santana sniffs

"You have a reason if you want it" Quinn shakes her head "Me. Us. I love you, Santana."

Santana turns, her eyebrows furrowing as Quinn puts her hand up "Look, we can sign those papers and try to move on but the truth is, I'll never be able to let you go. Not fully. There hasn't been a single minute of any day that I haven't loved you Santana. I know I was the one that brought the papers but honestly I had no intention of giving them to you, I was just being a petty bitch. We both know I'm great at that." Both girls laugh as Quinn continues "I didn't know what else to do? We were both slipping away and you know how we get when we argue. You running away last night, broke me. Maybe not last night but certain parts of this weekend reminded me of what we used to be and what we still have. I think we can get back there. Please Santana, I promise to never let anything come between us again. Just…..stay…please"
