Chapter 20: A Double Wedding Part 1
Note: Kori is Robin and Starfire's three year old daughter, Kori has Starfire's skin tone and green eyes, she has short black hair and talks a lot. This chapter sets up three years later.
Mika and Sami are Raven and Beast Boy's two year and a half old twins. The twins have Raven's light grey skin colour and hair, they have Beast Boy's green eyes.
A month before the wedding...
"Do you think Cyborg will make it to our wedding? I mean it's been ages since we've heard from him, after the big argument a couple years ago..." Beast Boy began, as he sat down on the couch next to Raven.
Robin shrugged as he sat down next to Starfire and their daughter Kori.
Kori was sitting on Starfire's lap, eating fruit salad that Starfire had made her.
"Hopefully he does make it, I did send him an invite to our wedding..He and Ember are always welcomed back at the Tower when they're ready to rejoin." Robin replied as he put his arm around Starfire.
"Even if he doesn't come to our main wedding, he's always welcomed to come to the weddings in Tamaran and Azerath." Raven said, joining in the conversation as she rest her head gently on Beast Boy's shoulder, while watching Kori eating fruit salad with her hands.
Starfire was quiet, mainly thinking about Cyborg. "I do hope he comes, he can't be angry with Kori forever, especially that she did not mean to damage his battery chargers while looking for him in his room when she was one and only started walking."
Kori looked up at Starfire with the mention of her name.
Silence filled the air for a moment, as Raven began to try and locate Cyborg with her powers.
About ten minutes later, Raven looked at the others and shook her head. "I can't seem to find him anywhere."
"Maybe he's playing hide-and-seek?" Kori suggested. "I'll try and find him..." She went to get up from Starfire's lap.
Raven giggled. "You are too cute Kori, but no, he's not playing hide-and-seek. Last I've heard he's moved into Steel City."
Kori sat down again, and grabbed her bowl of fruit salad, she only had a little bit left after eating a full bowl. She began to eat the salad again.
"Should we try contacting the other Titans that live in Steel City again? We haven't heard from them either, maybe there's a connection?" Beast Boy pondered, putting his hand under his chin. "I mean it's a month before the wedding and we'd love to have most of the Titans coming. I know Jinx and Kid Flash are coming."
"We'll try one more time, hopefully we can get through." Robin smiled and picked up his communicator, then tried contacting the Titans East.
"I'm going to check on the twins." Raven said, getting up.
"I'll come with you Rae-Rae!" Beast Boy chirped, joining her. "They should be awake now, from their nap."
On their way to the twin's bedroom which was Terra's old room, Raven had a vision, one that she didn't like.
Raven's vision:
It was their wedding day, the four Titans had JUST got married and were now dancing to the music that they had chosen for the wedding.
The twins were dancing together, and Kori was dancing with Cyborg, all was fine until a familiar giant figure showed up.
A smoke bomb was thrown by the familiar figure, when the smoke cleared away the twins were missing.
End of vision...
"No!"Raven suddenly cried out in fear, after her vision.
"Raven? Are you alright? You kind of spaced out?!" Beast Boy wondered, as he looked at her worriedly.
"I'm not...I just had a vision." Raven replied, sounding worried, she told him about it.
"Hm..Do you think it would be Trigon in the vision?" Beast Boy asked quietly, rubbing the back of his head.
Raven shook her head. "I doubt it, though it could be. Who knows. I know one thing for sure, if he really does come back, I'm going to banish him to another dimension, like I did with Terra. I won't let him go near our twins."
A while later, Raven and Beast Boy finally reached the twin's bedroom, which was Terra's old room. Instead of having Terra's name on the door, it had 'Mika and Sami'. The twin's bedroom was completely revamped just for them. The cot was in the middle of the room, which the twins shared. Near the walls were a couple of wardrobes full of clothes for the twins, also in the room was a giant toy box where the twins kept their toys.
Raven opened the door and walked in, Beast Boy followed her. He smiled as they neared the cot, the twins had just woken from their nap and were just playing with their favourite Teddy's.
"Mummy, Daddy!" Mika exclaimed, dropping her teddy instantly. " Sami has a new trick! Show Mummy and Daddy, Sami!"
Sami smiled looking at his parents, he then suddenly turned into a kitten light grey and meowed.
"Looks like the twins might have your powers Beast Boy!" Raven said, stealing a kiss from him.
Sami purred then turned back to his normal self. "Watch what Mika can do!" He nodded to his twin sister.
Mika looked at a book that was on the shelf, and focused on it. She used her new powers to bring the book to her.
"Or maybe they've got a mixture?" Beast Boy suggested, proud of their twins. "That's very good Mika and Sami." He smiled, giving the twins both a kiss on the forehead, he then picked Sami out of the cot.
Raven nodded as she picked Mika out from the cot. She smiled to her twins. "Your father and I are going to train you two when you start using your powers more."
Mika put her arms around Raven's shoulders, as Raven held her close. Mika rest her head on Raven's shoulder for a moment.
Raven thought about the vision she had, wondering what that meant.
"Mummy...Why was there smoke when Sami and I were dancing and where did we go?" Mika asked, tilting her head.
Raven and Beast Boy stared at her for a moment in surprise, they haven't told the twins about the vision.
Raven bit her bottom lip wondering how to explain what a vision was.
"Was it a vision, mummy?" Sami pondered, looking over at her from Beast Boy's arms.
"How do you know all this?" Beast Boy asked, curiously.
"Mummy told us...But she didn't say anything." Mika began, as she tilted her head cutely, looking at Raven.
"B..I'm starting to think the twins can read our minds." Raven gasped softly in surprise.
"Is that good or bad mummy?" Sami wondered.
Silence filled the air for a moment as both Titans wondered the same thing. They walked back to the main room with the twins, eager to tell Robin about the news.
Back in the Main Room...
"Kori, can I please have my communicator back?!" Robin cried out, as he ran after her trying to get it back from her. Kori had managed to get Robin's communicator and started playing with it without Robin noticing until a while ago.
"But Daddy, this is fun!" Kori responded, running away from Robin, she quickly hid under the table and started pressing buttons on the communicator.
"Kori.." Starfire began. "The Communicator is not a toy, Daddy will give you one IF you give his one back."
That sounded good to Kori. "Here daddy..." She passed the communicator to Robin.
"Thank you. Here, you can play with this communicator." Robin smiled, taking a new communicator out of his utility belt.
"YAY! Sami and Mika are awake!" Kori chirped, ignoring Robin for once, she looked at Raven and Beast Boy and the twins, then ran over to them. "Auntie Rae-Rae and Uncle B!"
Raven and Beast Boy smiled, putting the twins down to the ground so they could play with Kori. The twins raced over to Kori and hugged her.
"Kori! Sami and I can do tricks! Sami, show Kori what you did earlier." Mika began, sounding excited.
Starfire and Robin looked at the twins in interest. Within a blink of an eye Sami turned into a light grey kitten and meowed, he walked around on his four legs and went to Raven, then purred. He then turned back into his normal self.
"That's not all that Sami can do! Show them the trick I did earlier Sami!" Mika chirped, clapping her hands in delight.
Sami nodded, he looked over at the TV Remote which was sitting on top of the TV, he focused on it and used his powers to bring it to him.
Robin stared at him in surprise, his mouth opened and closed.
Sami giggled and held the remote in his hands. "Your turn Mika!"
Mika nodded and thought for a moment, within a blink of an eye she turned into a puppy. She gave a small bark and ran around Beast Boy then turned back into her normal self.
Robin was about to say something.
"I'm not finished yet Uncle Robin...Mummy, Uncle Robin said that our powers are um com-bin-ded..." Mika looked at Robin as if she had read his mind. She glanced over at the clock hanging on the wall, and focused on it. She used her powers to bring the clock to her.
"Can the twins read our minds too?" Starfire wondered, staring at Raven in surprise.
"We think they can read our minds..They must have a combination of our powers." Raven replied after a while of thinking.
"Mummy said..." Mika began, as she was about to tell Starfire about the vision.
"Never mind what mummy said Mika..Why don't we all go to the park for a while?" Raven suggested, changing the topic. "It's only three in the afternoon so you three have all day to play at the park!"
The twins and Kori stared at each other in delight, they loved the park.
"I'd take that as a yes..." Robin smiled, looking at the three youngest Titans. "We'll have a picnic there too."
At the park...
Raven and Beast Boy set up the picnic blanket as they watched the twins playing with Kori in the sandpit. Kori watched a girl around five years old make a sand castle, she went to try and make one, which made the twins join in the fun.
Starfire and Robin helped Beast Boy and Raven with setting the picnic up.
"That reminds me...I better tell the twins NOT to use their new powers at the park.." Raven said, then walked over to the sandpit, where the twins were playing with Kori.
The young girl that was with the twins and Kori left the sandpit to go and get something, much to Raven's relief. It was only Kori, Sami and Mika playing in the sandpit. Raven glanced around to see if anyone was eavesdropping or watching, no one was. She then told the twins not to use their powers while they were at the park and explained why.
"Aww, okay mummy, we won't use them we promise!" The twins smiled to Raven.
"You two are lucky, I haven't got mine yet." Kori sighed, she felt a bit left out.
"You might get yours soon Kori. Don't worry." Raven told her, then went back to the other Titans.
A man wearing a brown tuxedo hid amongst the trees, with him was a woman.
"Are they the twins?" The woman asked, glancing at the man.
"Yes, that's my daughter's twins...They're bound to have powers at some point of life, I want them to use their powers for evil not good. But knowing their mother she'd make them use it for good." The man replied, stuffing his hands into his pockets.
"But ...Why did you decide to do this on the day of your daughter's wedding? Haven't you forgotten what type of powers your daughter hold?" The woman questioned him.
Suddenly the twins glanced over to the trees, where the man and woman were hiding, the twins then started crying then ran to Raven and Beast Boy. Kori ran after the twins wondering what was going on.
"Mummy! Daddy! A bad man and a bad lady are hiding behind the trees!" Mika cried, hugging Raven in fright.
Raven raised her eye brow in concern, she hugged Mika back and looked over at the trees. Sure enough she sensed her father's presence there. "The twins are right, it's my father that they are sensing..."
"But I thought we destroyed him years ago..." Beast Boy said, scratching the back of his head. "How can he be back?"
"I don't know..But it appears that he's with someone else." Raven sighed. "Looks like we may have another battle after all!"
"Grandpa?" Sami asked, drying his tears. "Is Grandpa playing hide-and-seek?"
"It's a long story...I'll explain later, for now I think its best if we head home to keep away from your 'Grandpa." Raven replied, she glanced back at the trees and noticed the presence has left.
"But he's gone now, and so has the mean lady." Mika blinked, looking over at the trees near the sandpit. "Can we please play more?"
"Alright...But if he comes back we'll go home." Raven gave in, hugging the twins.
Robin watched as the twins ran back to the sandpit with Kori, pondering how the twins knew that someone was near the trees.
"Robin?" Starfire looked at him then back at Kori and the twins.
"I'm just wondering, how the twins knew that He was evil..." Robin told her, keeping his eyes on Kori and the twins.
"Maybe they felt the evil aura around him?" Beast Boy suggested with a shrug.
Later that night...
Mika and Sami were fast asleep in their cot, when suddenly they got woken up by a four year old boy who suddenly appeared in their cot.
"Huh? Did the stalk come and bring a brother?" Mika pondered, rubbing her eyes as she looked at the boy in surprise.
The boy said nothing and looked around for a moment. "Do you want to play?" He asked.
"We can't, because Mummy and Daddy said that playing is only for the day." Sami replied, scratching his head.
"But your Mummy and Daddy aren't here, so they won't know. You have powers don't you?" The four year old boy gave a small smile.
Mika tilted her head in confusion. "How do you know all that? Mummy and Daddy told us not to tell anyone about it, and we haven't told anyone."
"Um, I can usually tell if you were born with powers or not." The boy quickly replied.
"Mummy told us not to play with strangers, we don't know who you are so we can't play with you." Sami told him.
"My name is um Tai..." Tai introduced himself. "Now we know each other, why don't we play?"
"Well okay..." Sami shrugged, he looked at Tai then back at his twin.
Soon the three were giggling and playing rather loudly.
Raven suddenly heard the twins giggling and playing on the baby monitor, and quickly sat up in her bed.
"Sami, and Mika, we should play at my house, my mummy would let us!" Tai's voice suddenly woke Beast Boy up.
Beast Boy's ears twitched when he heard that voice. "The twins!" He exclaimed, waking up instantly.
"I bet it's Trigon, trying to trick them." Raven frowned, making a portal. She and Beast Boy quickly jumped into the portal, which connected to the twins room.
"Mummy and Daddy are here! Look Tai!" Sami exclaimed, he went to tug on Tai's jumper but saw that Tai had suddenly vanished into thin air, once Raven and Beast Boy appeared into the room.
"Who is Tai, and how did he get here?" Raven asked, looking around seeing and sensing that nobody else was in the room.
"The stalk must have made him appear here, but now he's gone." Mika replied, looking under her pillow to see if Tai was hiding under there.
"He was a boy about this high, and he started to play with us. He asked if we could go to his house!" Sami smiled excitedly.
"UGh!" Raven frowned, she suddenly guessed it would have been Trigon disguising himself as Tai, to capture the twins and use their power for evil.
Mika read her mother's mind. "Mummy, are you saying Grandpa is Tai, and Tai is actually mean? Tai sounds so nice though, mummy."
"If 'Tai' was nice, he'd be still here and would explain how he got here. Yes I am saying that Tai might be Grandpa in disguise. Grandpa wants to use your powers for bad things such as destroying the world, robbing the bank and hurting people, while I want you two to use your powers for good, like saving people's lives or stopping bad guys robbing the banks." Raven explained to her.
Mika nodded. "Mummy, can Sami and I stay with you and Daddy tonight? I'm scared that Tai might come back!"
Raven smiled and nodded. "Of course, we'll move your cot to our room now."
Mean while, somewhere in a dark and creepy lair...
"I'm starting to doubt capturing the twins will ever work, Master Trigon. Your daughter and her future husband seem to be really protective over them." A young woman told him as she ran her fingers through her hair.
"I will capture the twins...Even IF it takes me a century. I WANT them to join my side, so they can defeat the Titans. I just have to work out how to bring them to me without my daughter knowing."
"Well...I'll start working on some new plans, when I come up with some I will let you know. Until then, you know where to find me." The woman then suddenly vanished into thin air.
Will Trigon successfully capture the twins?
Will Cyborg and Ember reunite with the Titans?
