bABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS-YEAR ONE/b By: Tina Kim-tishortie02 /b: Comedy/bdrama /b: All characters belong to J.K. Rowling. The concept, the idea, is all copyrighted to her. However, this perspective of Lily and James is my own. A few characters are also a result of my idiocy. A handful of the characters are based on real people from my stupid school or life. (. /b: Lily/James. Inevitably. Don't be surprised if I throw in a few... Oh, the joys of being a fanfic writer... /b: Lily Evans is absolutely excited for her first year at Hogwarts. Little does she know that there is a great amount of things in store for her at the magical school. (including a certain Lucille Stebbins) She has but to go through with it and when looking back, find it absolutely hilarious.

/b IThe room was warm from the sunlight poring in through the open window. The wood floor was aging and was rough but she was kneeling on it anyway. Her knees were aching but she didn't care. The old photo album was heavy, and Lily carefully laid it down on the floor in front of her. She ran her fingers across the cover, and found that its softness was wearing away. A few threads were coming out of the corners and the letters spelling out "Hogwarts" was faded. The pain in her knees was increasing now but she didn't shift her position. She opened the album slowly, careful not to rip the binding. She turned the page titled "Year one" and saw that a picture of her and Lucille greeted the first page. The picture was fading, but the picture was still visible. Lily at ten, had a huge purple bruise on her forehead. A tall girl with her brown hair tied back into a ponytail was attempting to poke it, and as Lily watched it closely, the girl actually poked Lily's bruise, making her wince and cringe. Lily felt her lips slightly curl into a grin. /iLucille Stebbinsi she thought and turned to the next page./b A sense of disbelief and anxiousness had come over her as she had opened her Hogwarts letter. Lily had expected it to wear away, but she was wrong. If anything, it was growing. Her insides were churning uncomfortably as she reminded herself that the first day of Hogwarts was coming in two days. She let go of the handle of the swing she was sitting on and checked her watch. It was almost suppertime. With a huge sigh, she left the swing set and hurried home.

"I'm home!" she called, and turned to close the door. "Lily, watch out!" Lily whipped her head back and felt something collide painfully with her forehead. Her head was ringing with pain, and looking at the ground, Lily saw what had hit her: a baseball. Actually, it was a soft- ball. Petunia's softball. "Petunia!" she yelled angrily, and surely enough her little eight-year-old sister was sitting on the steps. "Hey, I have you a fair warning," she said innocently. "It's your fault you have slow reflexes," "You little—" "Lily? Petunia! Dinner!"

The following morning Lily saw that the ball had given her a bruise, square on the center of her forehead. She had to hand it to her, Petunia had good aim...She groaned, looking at her reflection. "Petunia, look what you've done!" she shouted. Petunia appeared at her doorway. "Like I said, your reflexes—" Lily grabbed her brush and threw it at Petunia. It hit her toes and Petunia resorted to crying. Their mother came running into the room, her nightgown still on. "What's going on?" she asked them. "Lily—hit—me!" Petunia bawled. "Lily!" "Mum, look what /i did to me!" she pointed to her bruise. "What have you two done to each other? You two are /i. Not two drunken men brawling in the public pub!!" she cried. "Petunia, go to your room. Lily, you hurry up and get dressed. Not a sound from either of you!"
