Disclaimer: You know I don't own Harry Potter, other wise it wouldn't be
this good. I do own Alyssa though.

Chapter One: Her Arrival
The weather was ominous, with rain streaming down the windows of the castle and flashes of lightening illuminating the dark corridors.
*I can't believe I'm here.* Alyssa thought. *Not that I want to be.* She quickly countered, trying to disguise the awe in her own thoughts.
"This way Ms. Lockhart." Alyssa looked ahead to find a tall, black haired witch with a stern expression on her face that looked as if it rarely vanished. As the witch turned to lead the way to the next room, Alyssa strolled in the wake of her guide leaving the cackle of lightening behind them.
*Well this is different. Nothing like Salem Academy.* Alyssa removed her hood, showing off a head of beautiful, golden ringlets. Her sparkling blue eyes looked about as she continued to walk down the hall. *I wonder if there's a mirror around here. I bet I look awful.* Alyssa cringed at the thought of her hair going limp. Abruptly, Alyssa's guide stopped at the end of the corridor where the portrait of a very fat woman in a pink silk dress hung on the wall; the stern witch turned to Alyssa.
"The Headmaster has informed me you have been previously sorted into Gryffindor. Is this correct?" A nod was Alyssa's reply. The witch turned back to the portrait and said, "Caput Draconis." The portrait door swung open to reveal a round hole in the wall. They both stepped through the portal.
In the common room few students were still up, most were unpacking their things or getting sleep for the first day of classes. From the moment she stepped foot in the room all eyes were on her. The professor told here some key information, and introduced her to the few in the common room even though it was not needed. Everyone knew who she was, unless they had been cut off from the wizarding world for the past few months. She was use to the stares by now; in fact she loved it now. She would revel in the spotlight whenever she could, and never pass up an opportunity to get her picture taken. It amused her to think just a couple of months ago nobody knew who she was, and now witches and wizards had posters of her in their rooms. Alyssa made her way up to the girls' dormitory, crawled into her four-poster bed and began dreaming or her new found stardom.

Well that was my first chapter. I hope you like it. I still don't know where I'm going with this so when you review please give some suggestions. No flames please.
