Chapter 0: Enter the newcomers

Everything was normal in the underground; the royal guard was looking for any human unlucky or stupid enough to come to the underground, Mettaton was entertaining people on his show, monsters were trying to get to work, while others were trying to avoid Jerry and Aaron, specifically Aaron. Flowey was trying to relax in the ruins, after resetting the world for another time, at this point even he lost count. It felt like every reset was getting old for the flower, which was getting to his nerves, assuming he even had nerves.

"Not that I care if I have nerves to begin with," Flowey muttered to himself. "It isn't like anything new is going to happen in this timeline. I wish something will happen, I don't even care what it is."

Just then, something fell onto Flowey. "Son of a—" The flower said as he threw whatever was on him off. Looking at what fell on him, he saw that it was a page from a book. The paged had a strange writing on it, and a diagram of a few figures in strange poses and doing some strange motions.

"This looks like a how-to on how to do a spell," Flowey said to himself. "From what this says, just do this, and wave one's hands like so…"

The yellow flower raised a couple of vines and started chanting what he assumed was in quotations. As he chanted, and mimicked the motions in the page, a storm cloud had formed above Mt. Ebott. A few humans that were close to the mountain saw what was happening and stared. No one knew what was happening, but they didn't want to stick around to find out; for all the humans knew, it was just a storm, strange things happen on that mountain all the time.

After Flowey got done chanting and doing what was said on the page, the storm clouds formed into one huge dark cloud. The cloud slowly descended on the entrance of the underground and started to shrink in size. Flowey was unaware of what was happening above, considering he couldn't see the world above. The only evidence of the storm-cloud was the sound of thunder it produced.

"What the hell's going on up there?" Flowey asked, looking at the entrance to the underground. "There wasn't a thunderstorm any other time I did a reset to this point."

After a while, a lightening bolt flew out from the cloud, bounced off a tree, and hit the cloud it spawned from. The cloud opened up, and what appeared to be a portal was right at the center of it. A somewhat obese, small man ran out, straight to the underground, and a taller, thin man had chased him in.

"Come on Mixos, we all know how this ends," the tall man had yell as he walked. "Just come back with me and I'll promise you that everything will be alright."

"I'd rather not," the smaller man said as he ran, not noticing the cliff. "I'm not going to be back-up for some lunatic god who can't be bothered to do the one thing I ask for. Go back to Hell and ask the demons to help yo—"

Mixos, the smaller man, had tripped on a small rock and fell straight into large hole that led to the underground. Before he fell far enough to be trapped, he grabbed a huge root that jetted from the rock. Just as he hit the rocky wall, he felt the wind get knocked out of him. Mixos then looked around, not knowing where he was. From what he could gather, he was in a cave, or some underground area.

"Need some help?" The taller man had asked as he crawled down the cliff. "Or are you willing to go back up on your own?"

"Shut the fuck up," Mixos yelled, his face contorting in anger. "I'll happily get back up on my own. Unlike you with your parasite, I can use the power given to me by my parasite for more conventional and unorthodox means. Now watch and learn."

Just then, multiple bugs had accumulated between Mixos and the wall. Mixos was then carried up the rocky wall by the bugs, a huge smile was engraved onto Mixos' face. The taller man had rolled his eyes and punched the rocky wall, causing Mixos to fall straight into the underground.

"Creature, you're an asshole!" Mixos yelled as he fell into the darkness.

Flowey saw Mixos fall onto solid rock, which created a huge crater where he had fell. For a moment, Flowey thought he was dead, but Mixos would slowly get up and look around. Mixos was just as awestruck as Flowey was, but for different reasons.

"How the hell did you survive that?" Flowey asked, getting the attention of Mixos.

"Hey look, a talkin' flower," the man said getting up. "Yeah, yeah, but let's see if it actually wants to be with us. Listen, how about all of you just shut the fuck up for a couple seconds and I'll ask it. Yes, I'll call it an it until we know if it is a girl or guy, assuming it knows the concept of such a thing."

What the hell is he talking too? Flowey thought to himself, slowly backing away from the approaching man.

"Who are you, little one?" Mixos asked, kneeling down to the flower. "What's your name? I didn't fall on you, did I?"

For a second, Flowey was going respond, but a voice rang out from above. The man had looked up and groaned before getting back up to his feet. Flowey took this chance to leave while the large man was distracted. Creature had flown down to meet Mixos and the patch of yellow flowers. As they spoke to each other, Flowey had sprouted up to a part of the wall that the two men wouldn't notice him.

Did I accidentally summon these guys? Flowey thought to himself. No, that's stupid, that page was just a load of shit. Even if I did summon these guys, I could just load the world again and have these guys erased from this world if they become a problem or they become uninteresting.

"Oh great, you got us trapped here," Mixos yelled, getting Flowey's attention. "Wait, no, you're trapped here. I'm not staying anywhere near you since you're here."

"You know the rule of the parasite," Creature softly replied. "I'll gladly help you with your parasite, but you need to help me get out of here."

"I'll just get to another version of you then, one that's more helpful then. I'm not going to help some idiotic dunce through some complex cave-system."

Just then, Creature punched Mixos in the face. Mixos was sent a few feet before landing on his back. Mixos got up and opened his mouth, a green fog falling out if it. Just then, the fog rushed towards Creature so fast that Flowey almost thought the world had sped up around him, leaving him behind. As the two fought, Flowey wondered what he should do, he was just an innocent bystander in this fight and he didn't want to die here.

Flowey submerged back into the ground and left the raging fight behind; just as he was fully underground, a large ball of ice had hit where he was, ice missing him by an inch. As Mixos and Creature fought, someone else had approached them, a large female goat in clothing. The goat was none other than Toriel, the one monster in the ruins that keeps an eye on the oldest part of the underground. Without thinking, Toriel had launched as many fireballs as she could at the two fighting newcomers. The fireballs had caused the two to stop for a moment, then both of them had looked at the goat monster looking at them with determination in her eyes.

"I don't know what's going on here, but I'd like it if you two would stop your fighting." Toriel said, summoning a few fireballs. "If you two continue your fighting, I'll have to put a stop to it to protect the ruins."

Creature had looked around and noticed the damage in the huge room. Fire and ice had engulfed the walls as a strange mist had engulfed the ground. Creature then motioned to the ground around him and Mixos. Mixos had looked around and saw the damage that they caused.

"Yeah, maybe we should stop," Mixos said as he back away from Creature. "Wait a moment, a talking goat now?"

"That talking flower is yet to be seen," Creature said as he got rid of the fire and ice. "But a literally goat-person is something I can see."

"Who are you two?" The goat asked, cautious of the two people in front of her. "I heard fighting and the Earth was shaking, I ran here and saw you two. What were you two doing?"

"Sorry about that goat-nun," Creature said as he dissipated the mist. "My name's Middle Creature, everyone calls me Creature. This small pack of anger is Mixos. We were just having a small disagreement, didn't think anyone would live in this place."

"Well then," Toriel said with a chuckle. "My name is Toriel, I'm the caretaker of the Ruins. I come here daily to help anyone who'd fall down here. I wasn't expecting a couple of adults."

The two men had stiffened when they realized what Toriel meant. Mixos quickly looked away as Creature turned to the goat woman with a hint of fear in his eyes.

"Where are the others who had fallen down here?" Creature asked, his voice somewhat shaking. "Are they alright?"

Toriel's happy demeanor changed to sadness, she slowly looked away before turning away. The two men almost ran towards Toriel before she turned back around, a saddened smile on her face.

"They left the ruins," Toriel said slowly. "To go to the king, so they could get out of the underground. They made it to him, but he…they're all gone. I've been trying to make sure that those who fall down here won't leave the Ruins and meet the king."

"Does meeting the king mean leaving this place?" Creature asked, walking up to Toriel. "If going to the king means leaving, then that's what we'd have to do."

"N-no, that's a bad idea, there's no telling what the others would do once they find you. Th-the other monsters, they'll probably kill you if they'll see you. Please, just, stay here in the Ruins, you'll be safe."

"Woman," Mixos said after shaking his head. "We may not look like it, but we've fought things that should be in horror stories. We'll be able to handle a few monsters."

"As much as I'd like to believe you, all of them will attack once they notice that you two are humans."

Mixos and Creature had looked at each other and shrugged. Both of them took a step back and talked to each other, away from Toriel. Although the goat was wondering what they were saying, they didn't stay away from her for long.

"Okay," Creature said, putting his hands up. "Listen, we see that this is going nowhere. You don't have to worry about us, really. We have ways of fooling people. Just, please, bring us to the exit of the Ruins, so we can go to the king. If anything, we'll come right back here if anything goes completely wrong."

"Well, I," Toriel said slowly, trying to think of a response.

"Listen, you don't have to worry about us," Mixos said, shrugging. "We're more than capable of keeping ourselves out of trouble."

"Fine! I'll bring you to the end of the Ruins. Just, please, be careful. The king, Asgore Dreemor, he will kill you if he has the chance. Just be careful."

Toriel turned and walked away from the two men. As Creature started to follow the goat woman, Mixos had turned around and looked around. Nothing was behind the group, but Mixos felt something strange, like someone was watching them. The flower was nowhere to be seen, but Mixos felt someone staring at them.

"Come on Mixos," Creature said after a while. "You'll be left behind if you stay still. I'm not going to go looking for you if I leave you behind."

Mixos had turned around and ran towards Creature. As the group left the entrance to the Ruins, a translucent figure slowly became visible. The translucent figure was that of a small child, although the kid looked normal, anyone who saw said kid could easily tell that they were curious.

"So," the figure said. "Two people that shouldn't be here have showed up. It appears that one of their blood-lust has brought me back from the abyss, but I need a vessel to bring me back from death. Let's see if someone else would come down."

The figure disappeared, and a small chuckle resonated in the entrance of the Ruins. As everything went silent, a child a few miles away was getting ready to traverse Mt. Ebott, ready to see what caused the strange storm.

I know, I have so many unfinished fanfics that it's weird that I'm starting a new one. Don't worry, I'll finish the fanfics as I go along, I hope. It would be great that you review this story, any and all critique is welcome.
