"That's wrong, that's all wrong! Did you put the eggs before the batter?"

"Does it matter?"

"You know, for a brunette it really does make me wonder if it's box-dye."

"Hey!".

The girls were making the brownies from scratch, Caroline let Rina out but kept her in the kitchen the entire time, giving her small little treats if she promised to keep sane.

"This was your idea anyway, what if they have a chocolate allergy?"

"Then they must be dead." Davina responded, wiping some of the batter from the spoon with her hand.

After another 45 minutes, the brownies were finally fresh and done. Davina was adding the finishing touches while Caroline snuck a piece of brownie to Rina, who devoured it graciously.

"Okay, now we wait till they cool and we can make our way over there." Davina exclaimed with a smile.

The blonde eyed her ponderously, "you know Davina, you never wanted to go over there before, any reason now?"

"Nope." The brunette immediately replied. Caroline eyed her curiously, "are you positive?"

"Yep." Davina popped the P.

"Valid?"

"Super."

"Hundred percent?"

"Hundred and one." The two halted the back and forth and made their way out the door, leaving Rina to violently jump around. "That cat is satan reborn."

The girls made their way over to the large wooden door. An eerie feeling crept onto the both of them as soon as they stepped onto the premises. "Gosh, everything is so dull" the brunette looked around, taking in the brown grass, the lack of leaf on the branches of the trees, it seemed Fall was all year round for them.

"Who's knocking?" The blonde inquired.

"Obviously you since you asked!"

"Um excuse me, but it wasn't my idea to make treats for The Munsters Family! You didn't even properly portion!"

"Caroline!"

The girls finally made it to the front porch. After the bickering ended, Caroline eventually softly knocked on the door with two thumps. Two more thumps after a minute flew by.

Then she rang the doorbell... multiple times.

Davina tried to stifle the laughter, although laughing would've been better than feeling the uncomfortable silence.

"Hmm, oh well NobodysHomeLetsGo" Caroline exclaimed before turning around swiftly with Davina following behind, they came to a brief halt once they heard the door unlock and a creak following behind it.

The girls turned around to see a tall, slender young man with brunette hair and a small smirk appearing at his lips.

"Yes darlings?"

Caroline looked towards Davina, who seemed to be lost for words- ohhh so that's why.

Realizing her friend was mute, Caroline took the plate of brownies from her hand and walked up to the young lad.

"Hi! I'm Caroline" she flashed her 'Miss Salem Falls' award winning smile, "that's Davina over there" she moved her head to gesture towards her friend, "She thought it would be nice to make you and your family brownies." Caroline held up the plate and handed it to him, "well.. see ya!"

She turned around and grabbed Davina's hand, pulling her towards the house once more.

"You were drooling."

"I was not!"

"I still see the wet marks." Caroline laughed as she pointed at her friend. "Well, he wasn't awful looking, but leave it to you to find the weirdos next door hot."

"They are all hot. Even the blonde one. And she looks like she can kill with looks only from a distance."

"Well I only have seen three, I wonder what the fourth one looks like."

The girls were cooped up in the living room, watching Gossip girl and eating whatever Caroline had left in the fridge- it was hot pockets- and Rina was sitting on the shelf Caroline built for her to rest on when she was 16.

"We didn't even get a name"

"Well maybe if you wouldn't have been drooling and actually spoke, you would've learned a lot more than his name" she winked at her friend, letting the ideas roam in her head.

"I didn't think you were capable of sex jokes Care, considering the fact your virginity has nearly grown back from the lack of!" Davina joked, eating the last little bit of her hot pocket.

"Hey! There is nothing wrong with having a renewed virginity" the blonde grinned, "our body resets after 7 years anyways."

"How do you even know that?"

"Google, duh."

"Niklaus!"

If there was anything Klaus hated more than his name, it was the brother that was yelling it. So therefore, he ignored him.

"Oh klaus!!"

Just ignore him, maybe if you don't respond he will-

His thoughts were interrupted as his brother Kol marched into his room, swinging the door open and holding what seemed to be a plate of goodies.

Kol had eaten about 4 already and had the chocolate crumbs around his mouth to prove so.

"Let me tell you brother, our neighbors are quite ravishing, in the looks and bakery department" the younger brother stated, cocking an eyebrow in the process.

Klaus didn't even look up from his project, although the aroma of the treat was starting to fill his noses, he raised one eyebrow.

"I know you're aching for a taste Nik." Before Klaus can protest, Kol lunged a brownie at his head and sped out.

Klaus shortly followed him out, with the intent of removing his fingernails and feed them to the fishes. Klaus stopped his movements, though, once he reached outside. Kol was transfixed on the brunette across the street, who was standing next to a blonde. The two seemed to be hanging up a certain plant or decoration, unaware of the brothers who were staring.

Before he could make his next move, Kol sped back inside slamming the door shut, leaving Klaus outside and bringing the attention of the two girls on to him. He locked eyes with a set of blue ones that resembled the sea, not even bothering to look at the dark ones that stood next to hers. He stared for a moment before entering back inside.

"Oh em gee."

"Davina stop it!"

"Caroline come on! He was a hunk if I ever seen one!"

"Oh you think that way about all of them."

"Not the suit one, I prefer to call him handsome, don't wanna disrespect his dignity"

"Davina, he doesn't know you."

"So."

The girls continued the constant Dialogue, Rina was sitting upon the windowsill in the kitchen, staring at the house across the street.

"That cat is weird, it's like it's obsessed with that house." Davina concluded, earning a snarl from the Cat.

"See! It's like it's a bad omen or something."

"You and your bad omens Davina, you come up with a new one every month."

"Hey! I still believe that crying in the mirror on your birthday is a very vivid sign of misfortune"

"Davina, get over it, you were 15 and you were the reason your own birthday went downhill"

Davina stood agape, almost as if she didn't want to take responsibility of the truth. "It was most definitely not!"

After Davina left, Caroline stood in the hallway looking at the pictures she got used to ignoring every time she passed them. A part of her aching everything she pretends they aren't there. She locked eyes with a frame holding a very precious photo, of her mother, Liz.

"I miss you."

Proud that tears didn't fall this time, she turned to the living room windows getting ready to close the curtains, until she saw a figure in her driveway.

Opening the door ever so slightly, holding a butcher knife behind the door in case the man got any crazy ideas,

"Can I help you?"

The man didn't say anything, but moved gradually closer, holding his arms out in front of him to prove his didnt have any weapons.

"I just want to show my appreciation, for the delicates you graciously provided earlier."

Feeling a sense of calm wash over her, she put the knife down and opened the door wider. "You're welcome, but it really wasn't my idea."

"None the less, we appreciate the hospitality."

"Yeah so I've heard" Caroline rolled her eyes at Davina's earlier words running in the back of her head.

The silence was cut short when Caroline turned her head to see Rina running frantically away from the door. Caroline cocked her eyebrow in a question expression, turning her attention back to the man who seemed to notice.

"Well I'm glad you liked the brownies, I gotta tend back to this little she-devil" she joked, gesturing to the cat.

"See you around, Caroline" he purred. Turning to walk away, he heard her call out..

"And you are?"

He turned back to her, noticing the small smile creeping her way to her lips, he gave her one in returned and responded before walking back to his home.

"Niklaus."
