Don't Ever
It was early morning. The sun was coming up. All was quiet. There was absolutely no sound except for the sound of the running water of the river under the bridge and the sound of his heartbeat.
He knew people didn't like the thought of it, but he didn't care – as if he ever did. He was going to go through with it and no one was going to stop him. It was now or never.
He got ready to jump, but almost fell when someone suddenly screamed his name.
"Kai!"
He recognized the voice immediately. He turned his head and saw a small figure come running down the green hill.
"Kai!"
He turned his head and faced the river. He leaned forward and looked down. He wasn't afraid. Why should he be? Then he let go of his grip and fell.
"Nooo!" the voice cried.
The feeling of falling felt so great; the feeling of finally doing what he had been wanting to do for so long. He was seven feet from hitting the surface of the water when the elastic string made him bounce up again.
The figure was now standing on the bridge right above the knot. When he gracefully landed on the bridge he had that characteristic, but annoying smirk on his face.
"I told you not to do that!" the figure said while looking very insulted, but yet worried.
"Nothing happened."
"But it's dangerous! You could have broken stuff!"
" But I didn't."
"No… But you could have."
He wiped the smirk off and smiled an innocent smile instead while making the most begging puppy-eyes ever.
"I'm sorry, kitten", he said and wrapped the face of his kitten in his hands "I won't do it again… I promise".
"Promise?"
"I promise".
Then he kissed his kitten on the forehead, on the nose and stayed on the mouth.
After releasing him from the string they walked off the bridge and back to the hotel in the city behind the hills.
The string was left for others, who wanted to do some free bungee-jumping…
