Chapter 3 - First Kill

"Alright, good. That's enough for today." Mikoto said as she put her sword away.

"God, you're a damn slave driver, Mikoto sensei." Naruto said.

"Whatever. Now, listen, I have some good news. We will be taking our first mission." Mikoto said.

Naruto's face lit up. "Really? Are you serious? Yes!" Naruto jumped around and cheered.

"Settle down. You don't even know what the mission is." Mikoto said.

Naruto sheepishly laughed as he rubbed the back of his head. "Oh, yeah, haha. I'm sorry." Naruto said.

"Our mission will be to drive Kirigakure back. They getting too close to comfort for us and Lord Fourth has requested me to deal with them. This isn't a difficult mission because the ninja will probably be genin to low chunin level." Mikoto explained.

"How do we push them back?" Naruto asked.

"We kill them. This isn't a game. We're in war and so we'll do what we must do. I've decided to have you get your first kill. It will be a big step and mile stone." Mikoto said.

Naruto nodded but on the inside didn't know how to feel. He knew that in war, people died, but he started to question himself if he had what it took to take a human life. The blond went to his tent and prepared for bed.

The next morning came around fast and Naruto was quieter than usual, much quieter. Mikoto knew he was thinking about the fact that requires him to take a life. She knew it would be hard for him, though, it had to be done.

When breakfast was over, the two left the clearing and made their. It didn't take long for Naruto to declare that he felt mumtiple chakra signatures. Mikoto smirked, she didn't know her student was a sensor and with that, it would be perfect.

"As you can see, quite a few. Tell me, how should we push them back?" The Uchiha asked her student.

"I don't know. There are only two of us. I'd most likely call for backup." Naruto pointed.

"Honest answer, but no. We engage the foe. You see, when a single shinobi is being shown to exceed the abilities of others, it often forces those who are weaker to run. So, we're going to engage the enemy." Mikoto said as she drew her sword.

Naruto did the same and followed behind his sensei who began clashing her blades against the Kiri ninja. Naruto was able to dodge and black any attacks aimed at him. He wouldn't make any offensive strikes because of his fear to kill.

Mikoto saw this and silently growled. She kept taking down her foes with both her blades and Fire release. As predicted, the Kiri ninja were j I stronger than a low chunin.

"Die, Konoha scum!" Shouted one of the Kiri ninja that released a water dragon toward Mikoto. Her Sharingan not only allowed her to analyze the jutsu, she was able to come up with a counter and used Naruto's earth wall.

To their horror, more Kiri shinobi appeared and these batches were filled with multiple chunin and jonin. Mikoto silently cursed. While she eas able to take care of herself, she also had to keep an eye on Naruto. Her options were to escape and fight again or possibly get herself and Naruto killed for the sake of the mission.

"What do we have here?" Asked the voice of a tall man with teal colored skin and a massive sword.

"Damnit... Out of all the people, we had to face Rukusho Raji. Naruto! Leave the battlefield, now!" Mikoto ordered.

"Huh? What? Why?" Naruto asked.

"This isn't up for debate! These ninja are too much for you! I can't go all out if I'm worried about your safety. You are in the way, now go!" Mikoto ordered.

Naruto started to leave until the man appeared behind him. "Where the hell are you going?" Rukusho asked with a sinister laugh as he kicked the blond across the field.

"This isn't good. I need to attack and pray that Naruto will be alright." Mikoto thought as she took the Halo dance stance.

Both her and the Kiri ninja entered a clashed. Like Mikoto, Rukusho was a strong and powerful shinobi for being only twenty. As one went on the offensive, the other blocked or countered, vice versa. The battle was a style of art.

"Hey, kid! Just so you know, when your sensei dies, she is going to be our little pleasure girl. It gets boring out here." snarled one of the Kiri ninja.

"I'll never let that happen!" Naruto shouted but his outburst made the ninja laugh.

"Brat, you are a kid. You can't do anything. But you know, with her being the demon Mikoto, we could all retire from this war by selling her." Said another man.

Naruto was clenching his fist and growling. "Shut up! I won't let you!" Naruto shouted as he drew his kunai and he charged in.

The Kiri ninja smirked but when they went to attack, they found themselves unable to move. Naruto used his kunai and cut through them, not showing a single ounce of mercy.

Rukusho noticed this and became distracted. Mikoto used this moment to strike him in the gut. Kiri ninja dropped from the pain. "What the hell is that kid?" Rukusho asked.

Mikoto smirked. "Naruto Namikaze, future Hokage of Konoha." Mikoto said as she ended the man's life. Seeing their were more ninja around, she made quick work of most of them while the others left.

Naruto stood still. The blood of the four people he killed covered his body. He felt sick and disgusted for what he did. When he saw Mikoto walk over, she could see the pain in his eyes.

"Are you alright, Naruto?" Asked the woman.

"I killed the four of them. It was wrong of me." Naruto said.

Mikoto placed her hand on the blonds shoulder. "Naruto. If you didn't kill them, they would have killed you. It's going to be alright. That's why I'm training you." Mikoto explained.

"Does it get any easier?" Naruto asked.

Mikoto sighed. "No, it doesn't. Killing is never easy. Even veteran shinobi such as your father and the Hokage have difficulties with killing. However, as a shinobi, we must purge those emotions in our heart." Mikoto declared.

"I feel like I'm a monster." Naruto said as he looked down.

"Naruto, the day you enjoy killing and destruction, that will be the day you are no longer human. Now, come on. There is a small town close by. We will get some food and rest up." Mikoto said.

Naruto nodded and followed his sensei. Naruto looked back at the past eight months. He had come along way from day one. Aside from his training and conditioning, he learned many things. He also learned his to have better control over his elements and he even managed to control two elements at once.

Naruto's parents would be proud. They stopped in a small town on the outskirts. Small towns like these usually didn't bother with the war and served everyone. Naruto and Mikoto went inside and sat down at a both.

"Eat whatever you want. Make sure you rebuild your strength. Tomorrow, we're going to work on your bloodline." Mikoto said with a smile kf determination.

"Bloodline? What do you mean?" Naruto asked.

"Don't you remember our little spar awhile back? Then, when you fought those mist ninja. My Sharingan was able to analyze it. Tell me, what was it like for you?" Asked Mikoto.

Naruto looked at her. "It was like a strange sensation around my body. A heavy air, but the ground and sky was heavy too. However, I was able to move through it." Naruto explained.

"Naruto, you have the gravity release bloodline. This is one of the elements of the Gods. By having control over gravity, just that alone, you have the potential to become a powerful shinobi." Mikoto said.

"But, you said a person could have all jutsu in the world. If they don't train their bodies, what good is it?" Naruto asked.

The woman chuckled. "In most cases, yes. However, the gravity release is one of those bloodlines that's the exception. We are going to dedicate the next ten months on helping you control the gravity release." Mikoto said.

"How? Is there another gravity user?" The blond asked.

"No. We will have to do it ourselves. However, my Sharingan allowed me to analyze and understand the concept. It's a bit complicated, but you will be mixing the elements of Wind, Earth, and Lightning together. Consider the Wind the sky and the Earth the ground.

Think of the the lightning coming from the sky and into the ground. Each of the advanced elements between wind, earth, and lightning play a major part in understanding how it all works. As the lightning strikes the ground, it results in explosive energy, like the exploding release Kekkei Genkai.

The lightning strikes fast and fierce and when the wind is adding to it, the lightning is able to strike before the eye can see it. Finally, you have both the sky and ground. A magnetic force is created. Usually this force creates sand, iron, and a few other elements.

When you mix all these attributes together, you get gravity. To simplify everything, The wind and earth element create a magnet and the Lightning allows for the control." Mikoto explained.

"How am I going to work on the control?" Naruto asked.

"It seems your body naturally responds to it. So we will simulate situations where your life is actually in danger." Mikoto said.

"What?" Naruto shouted but was scolded for being ridiculously loud inside a restaurant. "I'm sorry, but you really think killing me will make me unlock this special power?" Naruto asked.

"It's sink or swim, Naruto. Either you force yourself to learn it or you die. How do you expect to become Hokage if you are too afraid to face death?" The woman asked as she left money for the bill.

"I guess you have a point." Naruto said as he followed his sensei. The two of them were walking and found a small inn.

"We are going to rest here for the night." Mikoto explained. Naruto didn't comment and just followed ordered.

When they got into the room, Naruto saw it was a single bed. "Mikoto sensei, what are we going to do?" Naruto asked.

"What do you mean?" Asked his jonin sensei.

"It's a single bed." Naruto said. "Aren't guys and girls supposed to sleep separately?" Naruto asked.

This made Mikoto chuckle. "In normal circumstances. However, you are six and I'm eighteen. I doubt temptation will come over either of us. I'm going to shower then you can after me, alright?" Mikoto asked.

Naruto nodded as he got into the bed and glared out the window. "Do I really have a strong bloodline? Can I actually become Hokage?" Naruto asked himself. As he sat in silence, Naruto began questioning everything. His goals and dreams, attitude, and everything in between.

He soon found himself in a deep sleep where he was floating over the battlefield of war. In a single moment, Naruto blew everything away. It was like he was a god.
