Inuyasha, Kagome and their friends were all sitting together, eating a feast Rin and Kaede had cooked for the occasion. There were laughs and stories shared, memories of the time chasing Naraku, anecdotes from Kagome's era, exploits realised by Sango's and Miroku's kids, etc.
The day had been filled with emotions. Nervousness in the morning while Kagome and Inuyasha were getting ready, excitement and love during the ceremony, tears of joy when they were declared husband and wife, and now peace, knowing that they were truly together, forever.
Inuyasha was looking at his wife (he still couldn't believe this all happened) who was laughing at something Sango said. She was so beautiful, and she was his. He smiled softly.
Miroku elbowed his friend, grinning.
"Admiring your wife?"
"Huh? Yes. She's amazing."
"You know what you have to do tonight, now that you're married." he said, wiggling his eyebrows.
Inuyasha blushed violently. "Keh! O-Of course I know! But there's no hurry."
"Is something wrong Inuyasha?" asked Kagome who noticed he seemed flustered.
"No nothing!" he answered, his left ear twitching from nervousness.
"Alright..."
She looked at the monk suspiciously, while he took a sip of sake, grinning.
The hanyo rapidly put his arm around her shoulders and brought her against him. She looked at him and smiled, before he leaned in to kiss her, surrounded by the sound of their friend's cheers.
"Awwww you're so cute!!" squealed Rin, her hands on her heart.
"I'm so happy for you two!" added Sango.
Kagome yawned, tired after this amazing but draining day.
"Wanna go home?" the hanyo asked softly.
She nodded so they announced their departure, thanking everyone to have shared this wonderful day with them.
Once outside, Inuyasha caught Kagome in his arms, bridal style, and ran to their hut. She was laughing and he was grinning, both enjoying the ride home.
They soon arrived at their house. Inuyasha started the fire while Kagome changed into her regular clothes.
"Come here, you." the hanyo said, smiling.
She giggled and sat on his lap. They hugged and kissed passionately.
Kagome looked at her now husband and smiled, caressing his face and ears with both hands. His eyes were closed and he kissed her palm when it was near his mouth. He looked so peaceful, content.
"Inuyasha...?"
"Hm?"
"I... I know we are supposed to... hum... you know... be intimate... since it's our wedding night but..."
Her cheek were flushed and she was unable to look at him directly.
The hanyo blushed too. With one hand, he raised her chin so he could gaze into her beautiful eyes.
"We... We don't have to if you're not ready." he said softly. "I want it to be a moment we share, not something we do because some stupid tradition says we have to."
"Inuyasha..."
She launched forward and hugged him, making them tumble backwards on the wooden floor, both laughing.
Inuyasha held his wife against him and kissed her. She kissed him back passionately, her tongue exploring his mouth, making him sigh.
She broke the kiss and looked at him. She was instantly blown away by how handsome he was right now. His golden eyes glowing, his silver hair spread around his face, slightly reflecting the light of the fire burning, a soft smile on his lips.
"You're so handsome..." she told him, kissing him softly.
Inuyasha blushed deeply, not used to be complimented.
She reluctantly got off him and he sat up. He replaced a lock of black hair behind her ear, caressing her cheek with his knuckles.
"I'm really glad you're here." he said softly.
"And I'm really happy I'm finally yours." she answered.
It was getting late so they prepared to go sleep. Inuyasha was kind of nervous, thinking that they would share a futon. Yes they had slept in the same room plenty of times during their travels. But never under the same bedsheets.
"Can you hum... turn around while I change clothes?" Kagome asked shyly.
Making a strangled noise, he turned around as fast as he could. Do NOT think about Kagome undressing. he told himself.
When she was done, she came behind her husband and slid her arms around his waist, her chest and head against his back. He put his hands over hers, covering them completely.
"Come on, let's get settled." she told him, before releasing him from her hold.
Inuyasha discarded his fire rat coat and got in the bed beside Kagome. They were both laying on their back, looking at the ceiling, not sure what to do. The Miko moved her hand towards his, intertwining their pinkies. The hanyo looked at her.
"Do you... want to cuddle?" she asked timidly.
He smiled and opened his arms for her. She scooted closer and he turned on his side to face her. He pulled her in his arms, her head resting in the crook of his shoulder and his nose buried in her hair.
"I never have enough of your scent..." he said softly.
She sighed, content and relaxed in his warm embrace. This was the first time they would sleep together, and she couldn't wait to do that every night.
She fell asleep before him, but he followed soon after, lulled by her steady and slow breathing.
The next morning, Inuyasha woke up early but he didn't move, not wanting to wake up Kagome. They must have moved in their sleep. She was back to him, and he was spooning her, his arm around her torso.
When she woke up half an hour later, she was greeted by lingering kisses on her neck, shoulder and nape, making her shiver.
"Do you like that?" he murmured between two kisses.
"Yes... A lot."
She couldn't refrain from sighing, relishing in the sensations he was provoking on her skin.
She turned around to face him and they kissed leisurely while Inuyasha held her tightly against him. Kagome decided to explore his jaw and neck with her lips, tasting his warm skin. The hanyo gasped under her touch, before he returned the favor.
It became more heated, her hands tracing the edges of the muscles of his chest, his caressing the curve of her hips and waist at the same time.
After a few minutes, they reluctantly interrupted the sweet exchange, Kagome needing to get ready for her training with Kaede.
"I think I will easily take a liking in waking up like that." she said, smiling. Inuyasha chuckled.
Kagome got dressed and prepared some tea. They ate a breakfast of fruits and bread, the Miko settled between her husband's legs, her back leaned on his chest.
Kagome proceeded to brush her hair but Inuyasha stopped her motion, putting his hand on hers.
"Let me." he said, grabbing the brush and proceeding to carefully untangle her hair.
She was pleasantly surprised by how her husband could be tender and affectionate. She didn't think he would be that kind of man, since he always showed a strong facade and rough manners. But here, in the privacy of their hut, she was discovering another side of him. She fell even more for him.
"I love you, Inuyasha." she said softly.
Blushing, bringing his mouth closer to her ear, he whispered "Me too.", tickling her with his breath.
