Those Last Words

Idea from Cowboy Bebop

When I saw you fly on to the ground,

Like an angel without wings.

You made no sound,

And it was hard for me to speak.

Your eyes were filled with fear,

Fear of actually dying,

The fear of leaving me behind.

Those last words left me terrified

And yet

Made me feel comforted inside.

I silently cried,

But revenged filled my eyes.

Anger and hate scribbled on my head.

I went to my dwelling one more time.

I came to say goodbye.

Goodbye to the people who were there always

For me.

Goodbye to all my memories.

Goodbye to my lifestyle.

Goodbye to being happy.

Goodbye to bounty hunting,

Goodbye to money.

Goodbye to doing nothing,

Goodbye to being me.

And also,

To say goodbye to my comrades.

I left for the final time,

I left everything behind.

I was hunting for revenge

Onto the person who killed part of my life.

I'm a wondering soul

Looking for vengeance

A wondering lifeless soul

To find out if I was truly alive.

I killed many of your people,

Who were trying to kill me.

We may have once been on the same team,

But that was the past and the present is now.

It may seem,

That I am wasting my time.

My life was wasted,

And I claimed I died in my first life,

But now I am alive.

I am so close to the finish line.

You are so close to being in front of me.

I ran through the room,

And stopped to see you.

You smiled your wicked smile evilly,

And unleashed your weapon.

We fought the first part of our battle,

Until both of our fighting utensils ended up carelessly on the floor.

We then picked up our weapons of choice,

And ended the sudden death.

I made my revenge,

But was unable to glorify it.

I walked down those stairs filled with blood,

To see the people who were still alive to look up at me in shock.

I pointed my finger to the sky,

And my final word was,

"Bang."

You said "Life is a dream."

My love,

I found out what state I really was in.

I found out that all my life,

I was dead.
