Charlie was many things; kind, considerate, charitable, and a fantastic singer. Yet, while all of these traits did make her a phenomenal manager of the Happy Hotel, they didn't really help when it came to combat. Despite that, as she and her grandfather trained with her new bow, both of them were amazed to discover she had the potential of being a reasonably decent marksman. Nothing that rivaled Blitzo, Millie, or Moxxie, mind you, but still, she was able to not only shoot straight shots incredibly well but could also fire while strafing and curve her arrows made from her power quite easily.
In light of this discovery, Vega decided it was time to amp things up a little and have her start attacking a moving target. Of course, to keep things fair and not make them insane, he didn't move too quickly, but it was still difficult to even get close to hitting him.
"Oh! Trying to fire multiple arrows at once now?" He asked as he saw Charlie ready her next volley.
"If I can't hit you with one, may as well try shooting more!" She answered before releasing them.
To Vega's surprise, each arrow flew on its trajectory, showing that Charlie's mastery over manipulating the properties of her creations was improving. However, this unknowingly backfired for his granddaughter, for it made him suspect that in addition to each arrow having its flight path, they'd do something special if they got near him or even miraculously hit their target. So, flying through the air in a somewhat sporadic fashion, only one arrow followed him while the others kept to the outside, still intent on doing their own thing.
"She's a fast learner, no denying that." He thought, unable to keep himself from feeling
proud, "This takes me back to when I gave my children their weapons and sparred with them. They were so adorable charging in all at once, then slowly taking a more cautious approach, and then-"
BOOM
As Vega focused a bit too much on his thoughts rather than what was happening around him, he failed to notice all of the arrows started to glow before exploding. But the explosions caused by Charlie's attacks were not the same as standard detonations. For example, the first time she made something go, BOOM was on the ground with one of her daggers. Because of this, a cloud of smoke was able to form due to the dirt, but without something like this to make a cloud, the explosions were similar to a flashbang, as it was just a burst of bright blinding light.
And in that window of being surrounded by bright white light, Vega could only react to a follow- up arrow that came right for him as it was about to hit him. He still managed to dodge it, but not without it nicking his clothes ever so slightly, which was a monumental achievement for Charlie.
"I...I did it...I LANDED A HIT!" She shouted with glee, excitement, and joy, washing over her from the tips of her toes to the hairs on her head.
"TECHNICALLY, you GRAZED me." He corrected, that pride he felt for his granddaughter a minute ago being replaced by embarrassment for being so distracted he got hit.
"Nu uh~" She responded in a sing-song voice, "I HIT you. I, a princess of Hell, managed to hit God with an arrow~" She continued to tease as she flew over to him, "Tell me, is it because of your old age, or am I just that natural of a shot?" She playfully asked, hamming it up as hard as she
could.
"First of all, I do not age. So any suggestion I am a senior is as inaccurate as it is a lie." He said immediately, actually a tad offended by the notion of being old, "And as for this cocky side of your personality, I can't say I'm a fan." He told her.
"Aw, someone's just mad that they aren't as fast as they thought~" She carried on, showing no signs of stopping.
"Alright. Fine. You want fast? You get ONE shot. If you land it, I will give you ANYTHING you want, even if it's an entire universe. Miss and YOU have to do one thing I say, and you cannot refuse." He offered.
"Is someone a sore loser?" She asked, finding it amusing how much this bothered her grandfather, who was usually the most composed person in any situation.
"Do. We. Have. A. Wager?" He asked in return, seeming desperate for this redo. "Hmm...it is tempting..." She hummed as she put a finger to her chin.
Unfortunately, Charlie wouldn't be able to give him an answer. Without any warning, an arrow suddenly flew past both of them, heading upward from below. But it wasn't fired with the intent of hitting either of them, only to get their attention and cause the duo to look towards the planet.
"Creator!" A Sentinel called out to them, "The Wraiths request your presence! It is a matter of great importance!" They informed.
"Oh my, that's not good." Vega said before responding, "Thank you! You may return to the city now! I shall go to their chambers immediately via a portal!" He told the warrior.
"They would also like the presence of your children!" They added. "Azrael and Gabriel? Or Lucifer as well?" He asked.
"All three of them, sir!" They answered.
"Whelp, that just took a not-good situation and made it scary." He said, "Very well! I shall fetch them, then all four of us will see them! It may take some time, however!" He shouted back.
With that, their long-range shouting conversation was over, allowing the Sentinel to return to the capital city.
"Grandpa? What's going on?" Charlie asked, but she didn't sound worried, for even he didn't seem to know what was happening.
"I have no clue." He truthfully answered as he looked at her, "Obviously, everything is still fine. If something truly horrible happened, EVERYONE would be called to attend. But for them to seek an audience with only myself, your father, your uncle, and your aunt. Whatever's going on is something that requires our unique expertise and insight." He reasoned, "Sadly, this does mean we have to put a pin in our training for now. I'm sorry." He apologized.
"No, it's okay. I understand completely." She assured with a smile, which did make him feel better.
"Thank you." He replied as he opened a portal behind him, "Would you like me to drop you off at the arena?" He asked.
"Hmm...no. I'll fly there instead. We may have to stop our combat training, but I can still work on my flying." She answered, "Say hi to mom and dad for me." She added.
"I will. See you in a bit." He said before leaving.
Waiting until the portal was closed, with her grandfather gone, for the time being, Charlie soared off. Although, she wouldn't head to the arena JUST yet, as she wanted to see more of this wonderous world before returning to the others.
"A small detour wouldn't hurt THAT much." So she quietly said to herself, eager to discover some of the amazing things the Sentinel planet had to offer.
Elsewhere, At The Arena...
Ice skating's hard, it's slippery, you feel like you have no control, and if you fall, you hit the ice that's cold as shit. Walking on stilts sucks too; you're super high off the ground, several things could hit you and send you either falling or flying, and it's hard to move around. Now, combine both of these experiences, add a high-tech combat suit into the mix, and flight, then you'll have Vagatha's living nightmare.
"Shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshit!" She rapidly muttered as she hovered a good few feet above the ground.
"You're doing fine, Vaggie..." The Slayer said from close by while looking up at her. Doing his best to keep her calm and in control.
"Yeah. You're only a little shaky." Husk commented from the sidelines. Able to speak to her on a face-to-face level since she was high enough to be near the spectator stands.
"NOT. THE TIME. HUSK." She told him sternly. Her mind entirely focused on not fucking up.
"Hey, I was complimenting you. As someone who has been so pissed and shit-faced, and my vision was so fucked up, it really did seem like the world was upside down. You're doing a good job." He explained.
"That...is upsetting to hear," Azrael told him, even going so far as to put her hand on his to show concern.
"How? He's a drunk. That's par for the course, isn't it?" Gabriel asked with his arms crossed.
"DON'T." Vagatha said before Azrael could respond, "NOT while I'm trying to fucking fly! If you two are going to have your regularly scheduled sibling bitch session, DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE." She told them.
"Damn, even I'm not that much of a bitch." Loona commented. She and the others were caught off guard by how much bite there was to her bark.
"Vaggie, take some breaths..." The Slayer instructed, getting a bit worried about her.
Doing as he said for the Slayer was the one person she wasn't going to shout at right now; Vaggie spent the next thirty seconds getting her breathing under control, which helped immensely calm her jittery nerves.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be a cunt just now..." She apologized while sighing, "This is just INCREDIBLY stressful." She added.
"I don't know if it'll mean anything, but Azrael and I understand how you feel," Gabriel replied.
"You do?" She asked.
"When we were children, father believed the best method of teaching us how to fly would be to throw us off of the ivory tower..." Azrael recalled.
"He THREW you, OFF of a FUCKING tower?!" Octavia questioned as everyone looked at them in shock.
"Keep in mind; this was before anything, literally ANYTHING existed. So when we were falling, we kept falling until we finally figured out how to fly." Gabriel informed.
"I wanted to be a serpent...I thought they were cool...so my true form resembles a serpent...serpents don't have wings...I fell for so long I started to question if I had just fallen asleep or if one of my siblings was messing with my mind...father eventually had to come to get me because I just...kept...falling..." Azrael recounted with a thousand-yard stare.
"Shit, you okay, Az?" Husk asked, now the one concerned.
"She did have it pretty bad, not the worst, but that's not saying much," Gabriel said.
"Everywhere I looked, there was nothing...nothing doesn't have a color or description, you know...it was just...nothing..." She muttered, getting lost in her memories, "But then...after who knows how long...without any warning a portal suddenly opened in front of me and-"
"Hello." Vega greeted as a portal opened in front of them, and his head poked out.
Screaming instantly, Azrael hugged her boyfriend as much as she could, for this was her memory happening again in real-time.
"Great timing, Vega." Husk told him, his face currently wedged in his girlfriend's chest due to how tightly she held onto him, which caused his voice to come out muffled.
"Huh, I haven't heard you scream like that in a long time, sweetie." Vega noted, "When was it?..." He wondered aloud.
"That time, you threw her off of a tower." Husk said before anyone else could.
"Ah, right! I haven't thought about that in ages. You were so cute then. Far timider than you are now." He replied.
"Gee, can't imagine why that might be." Husk retorted.
"Father. Is there a reason we only see your head and not the rest of you?" Gabriel asked.
"I'm only here to get you and your sister. So we can get your brother. Then come back here to have a meeting with the Wraiths." He answered.
"Oh no, has something happened?" Azrael asked as she finally calmed down, which in turn caused her to release Husk from his "prison."
"Yes. But nothing that sounds so alarming ALL of us need to be concerned. The Wraiths are looking for the combined expertise of God and his children." He explained before looking behind the portal and down at the Slayer, "So YOU especially don't need to sound the alarm and pull out your big gun, understand?" He asked.
"So long as no demons set foot here, then yes..." The Slayer answered.
"Excellent. Then let's get going, you two!" Vega exclaimed as he pulled his head back into the portal.
"Vega..." The Slayer called, causing the creator's head to reappear, "Where's Charlie? I assume she's not going with you to the meeting..." He asked.
"She's flying back here on her own. Spending a little extra time maneuvering with her wings." Vega answered.
"...You left Charlie alone...in an alien world...filled with things she's never seen before...unsupervised...with the freedom of the sky..." He listed, each addition painting a more foreboding picture than the last.
"Look, we ALL know that Charlie is easily excitable. AND that she's as curious as she is peppy. But I trust my granddaughter won't do anything foolish. Especially since she knows how tough this world is based on how strong the Sentinels are. She may fly around, look at some landscapes, but she'll be here in the next five minutes. Ten at most." Vega promised, having absolute faith in her, "But as we were, Azrael, Gabriel, let's get moving!" He exclaimed again before disappearing back into the portal.
"We'll rejoin with all of you in a short while," Gabriel told everyone as he rose from his seat beside Stella.
"Try not to indulge too much in the Sentinels' alcohol," Azrael said to Husk with a kiss to his cheek before then following after her brother.
With the divine trio gone and the portal fading away, before anyone could say something, the Slayer started to leave.
"William? Where are you going?" Verosika asked, ready to leave in a heartbeat if her boyfriend was.
"I'm going to go find Charlie and either drag her back here kicking and screaming...or stop something from eating her..." He answered.
"Wait, what?!" Vagatha questioned, causing him to stop, "What do you mean by EAT? As in consume and digest?! That kind of eat?!" She asked.
"Is there another type?..." He responded.
"Will, be serious. Can she ACTUALLY get eaten by something?" She asked, sounding more worried by the second.
"Vaggie, the Sentinels are people who would go up against a Baron of Hell for a bare-knuckle sparring session and come out of it with a few scratches and gnashes...how do you think they became so adept at tackling monsters that should outclass them?..." He asked.
"Then I'm coming too!" She exclaimed before landing.
"No, you need to-"
"I'M. COMING." She said sternly as she walked over and got in his face, "My girlfriend could be something's snack RIGHT. FUCKING. NOW. So either you ACCEPT that I'm coming with you, OR I can fly out of here right now AND because of my inexperience get myself killed because I can barely drive this thing. You want that on your conscious?" She asked.
"...Fine..." He reluctantly agreed, which made her smile, "But you're going to hover the whole time...no walking whatsoever...we're still training..." He added.
"Deal." She agreed as she reactivated her engines.
"HEY!" Verosika shouted while standing up from her seat, "What about ME, William?! Can't I come along too?" She asked.
"...No..." He slowly answered, for like a bolt of lightning hitting an antenna, genius struck him, "Verosika, you're too important to take out there...sure, Charlie and Vaggie are my friends...but you, in addition to being my...girlfriend, are also one of the most beloved and famous people in your circle...if even so much as a scratch were to defile your...perfect skin...then how would I or your devoted fans react?..." He asked, having taken a few pauses a couple of times to think of the right thing to say.
With every word he spoke, the arena got quieter until, eventually, there was no sound. Even Angel Dust and the others, who'd been preoccupied with shoot the Baron of Hell training dummies, had come to a full stop by the time he was finished.
"William..." Verosika slowly spoke before her face lit up like a Christmas tree, "THAT IS THE SWEETEST THING ANYONE HAS EVER SAID TO ME!" She happily shouted, throwing her arms around her body to hug herself, "I knew you cared about me but to this extent? You're the best boyfriend ever!" She exclaimed.
"So...you'll stay here then?..." He asked.
"Mhm! I'll wait for you here!" She answered as she sat back down.
"Thank you..." He replied before looking to Vagatha, "Alright...let's head out..." He ordered.
"Holy shit, dude. Nice job." She whispered in his ear as they left the arena, "Played her like a fiddle; that was impressive as hell." She praised.
"If I hadn't thrown that love potion on her, I wouldn't even need to do that...I REALLY hope Velvet's contacts find a cure for it soon..." He whispered back.
As for everyone else, they quickly got back to what they were doing, each feeling the same as Vagatha about how the Slayer handled that situation.
A Few Minutes Earlier, In Lucifer's Circle...
"We...have done it." Lucifer said with a blissful sigh as he stretched his arms, "Somehow, someway, we are DONE." He carried on.
Through the power of a healthy marriage and proper communication, Lucifer and Lilith plowed through everything that they needed to do. Sure, there was still the matter of the ongoing war
happening on earth, AND making sure the Authorities had a constant presence in their circle to avoid raising suspicion. But all of their other problems, worries, and complications were settled, allowing them to relax finally. And, they chose to do so in their scarcely used living room by laying on the couch, with him laying down with his head and upper body resting in her lap.
"How does it feel, O'mighty king of Hell?" Lilith asked with a smile as she looked down at her husband while gently stroking his hair.
"Like a dream made real, O'sexy queen of Hell." He answered, "But before we get TOO comfortable, is there ANYTHING we've forgotten to sort out?" He asked.
"Nope. The only problems left on our docket are ones beyond our control." She answered, her face adorning a frown afterward, "Such as our friends who're growing more concerned about their daughter with every phone call." She informed.
"Which is exactly why I unplugged the phone." He replied. "And our cells?" She inquired.
"Threw them out the window." He revealed.
"...You threw our cellphones out of the window. On what floor?" She asked.
"The highest one needed to make sure they exploded when they hit the ground." He answered.
Lilith picked up a pillow instead of saying anything else and hit her husband in the face with it, much to his amusement.
"You know, some people would see this as a reward rather than a punishment. You're giving me positive reinforcement for throwing our stuff out of a window." He joked.
"Lucifer, I LIKED my phone." She told him.
"We're royalty; we can buy every phone in Hell." He argued.
"I don't think that'd help our reform all too much." She said, "Also, I had PERSONAL things on that phone, Lucifer. Like photos." She countered.
"Nice try, everything backs up to the cloud. I win." He smugly stated.
Responding with another pillow smack to his head, Lilith kept it there instead of moving it away this time as an added punishment. However, a moment of silence followed as both knew they needed to be serious.
"...What're we going to do?" Lilith asked as she looked down at the pillow, "Ignoring the fact you threw my phone out of a window and that you've unplugged our landline, that's not going to stop the Eldritchs from trying to get answers." She said.
"I know. But what do we tell them? Father only said at the time that she's been through a LOT of fucked up shit. If we take that to her parents and brother, they'll only have more questions." He replied albeit a bit muffled due to the pillow.
"We should speak to Vega then. We need to know more, see how Helsa's recovery is coming along, and maybe have him talk with them." She decided.
"Good idea. Have him take the heat." He agreed with a snap of his fingers.
"Lucifer, that's not-"
Suddenly, a portal appeared at the opposite end of the couch, and below and behold, the man of the hour poked his head through it.
"Oh, my," Vega said, believing he intruded on a private moment.
"Holy shit, Lilith. What an amazing impersonation." Lucifer complimented.
For the third time, Lilith raised the pillow and smacked her husband with it, allowing him to see his father was ACTUALLY here.
"Oh shit!" Lucifer exclaimed as he flailed about trying to sit upright, "Father! So nice to see you!" He greeted, finally pillow free.
"The feeling is mutual, son," Vega replied, "I'm sorry to interrupt this intimate moment between you two, but I need Lucifer to come with me." He informed.
"Has something happened?" Lilith asked, but just like her daughter didn't sound concerned as there was no sense of urgency present in his tone.
"Yes. But we don't know what, only that the Wraiths have requested our presence. As in me, your sister, your brother, and you." He answered.
"The Wraiths?" Lucifer questioned.
"Oh, right, you haven't met them yet." He realized, "Don't worry, you'll love them. Basically, they're cosmic gods that the Sentinels worship." He summarized.
"...Uh-huh..." Lucifer sounded, "Well, if I am needed, then I shall go." He said as he got up from the couch.
"Excuse me." Lilith spoke up, "May I come with you? I know I'm not one of your children, which concerns those who are alongside you. But I-"
"The answer is yes." Vega cut her off, "Lilith, you may not be my child, but you ARE still family. And you have just as much to contribute as your husband, if not more." He told her.
"He's right, dear. You...HEY!" Lucifer exclaimed, only then realizing what his father said, "What do you MEAN she has more?! I'm your frigging son!" He reminded.
"I don't play favorites, Lucifer. And if I am asked to tell the truth, your wife is the better half of this relationship." Vega said.
"Now I know where you got your impeccable taste in women from." Lilith chimed in with a smile, flattered by Vega's compliment.
"Gee, THANKS, dad," Lucifer replied before storming past him by going through the portal.
Sharing a quick laugh at how much that aggravated him, Lilith followed her fuming lover into the portal, allowing Vega to pull his head back in and close it.
Shortly After, In The Wraiths' Chamber...
Lucifer and Lilith have seen many things in their life, some good, some bad, some ugly, and some that they hadn't been able to categorize yet. But as they stood before the gods of the Sentinel people, their eyes wide and their mouths agape, they could safely say that never had they seen anything that came close to them, ESPECIALLY not anything from the mortal realm.
"Brother, your mouth is hanging open," Gabriel said. He, Azrael, and Vega all standing beside them, amused by their reactions.
"As are you, Lilith." Azrael chimed in.
"I...I...forgive us." Lucifer eventually managed to get out after a brief stutter, "Neither of us has ever seen anything like you. Let alone something that originates from the mortal realm as you do." He explained.
"Yes, we hope our reactions haven't offended you," Lillith said, both she and her husband slowly coming back to their senses.
"You need not worry. Such things do not bother us. We are aware of the uniqueness of our existence." The Wraiths responded.
"But something has bothered you. Hence why you asked that not only I come to see you, but my family as well." Vega pointed out.
"Indeed. What we have to share with all of you goes beyond our knowledge. Given the nature of your beings and that you have existed far longer than we, we believe only you will know what to make of this discovery." They stated.
"Not to sound impatient, but how important is this? In the grand scheme of everything." Gabriel inquired.
"We are not sure. It could be nothing. It could be of great significance. Or it could fall somewhere in between." They described.
"Then we should get on with it, please, whenever you're ready." Vega invited.
Over the next several minutes, only the Wraiths would speak. They'd go into great detail about Velvet's visions, her familiars, and a few other things. Leaving out certain details as they didn't have any value or importance to their main concern. But even when the Wraiths were done, no one else said a word, as their five guests each contemplated about the information they received.
"...Father," Lucifer spoke after nearly ten full minutes of silence from everyone, "I think before any of us give our thoughts and feelings, you should. We ALL have the same sickening suspicion of what this may be, but you're the expert on all things Doom related. So what you have to say is the most crucial here." He said.
"Agreed/Agreed." His siblings said in unison, feeling the same.
"Of course. That's the most logical decision." Vega agreed, "Let's rip off the most painful bandage first. Do I believe this has anything to do with Doom? I'd be a fool if I said there isn't at least a chance that is possible. But, and this is very important to keep in mind as we discuss this, this place, wherever it may be as it may not even be in Hell, is a separate entity from the Dark One.
That much I can be sure of." He stated.
"As can I." Gabriel agreed, "If he had any association with this...whatever it is. He wouldn't
have needed to conquer earth or have Valentino try to infiltrate Lucifer's circle. He could've simply fled to this place, and we wouldn't have known about it." He reasoned.
"But then how could it be related to Doom? Even Will's friend, who has turned his back on them, is stilled tied to it." Lilith asked.
"...Because dear." Lucifer spoke, answering the question instead of his father, "One of the many explanations for what this is, is that one of my siblings kept the monsters produced by Doom before the Dark One existed." He explained.
"Lucifer, do you really think one of our brothers or sisters could do something like that?" Azrael questioned with widened eyes as that possibility hadn't even occurred to her.
"It's not a matter of could, Azrael." He replied with a sigh, "Gabriel and I may have started the conflict, but I feel it is safe to say that some of our siblings took the reasons for WHY we were fighting, and...became a bit obsessed with specific ones." He said.
"The first ones to come to mind would be Harut and Marut. Those two always did have an insatiable curiosity." Gabriel suggested.
"Harut and Marut? Twins?" Lilith asked while looking at Vega.
"That's...a bit complicated to explain." He began with a sigh, "You see, I never created my children in sets. Such as twins, triplets, quadruplets, etc. They're all brothers and sisters to each other, and I made them at the same time once I settled on how many I wanted and what each of their personalities would be. But as they developed and became their own people, they decided which of their siblings they were the closest to. As a result, you have some of my children who decided that they are twins and so forth. Seeing themselves as being separate parts of one personality and consciousness, which is not the case, I swear." He told her.
"What about their names?" She inquired.
"Decided on their own. I do have names for all of my children, but seeing as how I was and still am a strong advocate for people deciding what they wish to be themselves. So I allowed each of them if they wanted to choose a new name. Which is the case for those two." He explained.
"Wait...does that mean YOU have a different name?" She asked with widened eyes as she shifted her focus to her husband.
"...Let's focus on one shocking revelation at a time," Lucifer responded, dodging the question. "Oh, we are SO talking about this later." She told him, much to his chagrin.
"At any rate, the chances Harut and Marut are behind this is quite high. To be brief for your sake Lilith and yours as well, Wraiths. They were always experimenting with magic, science, anything they could get their hands on. So, during the war, when our siblings in Hell banded together and created Doom as a means to have an endless supply of monsters to fight for them. It is within their character to have taken an interest in the horrors the realm produced." Gabriel informed.
"But would they be so careless as to keep some of these creatures for themselves after Doom was sealed from the rest of Hell? Surely even in their pursuit of knowledge and to entertain themselves, they'd realized how quickly things could go wrong." Azrael put forward.
"Far be it from me to try and justify their irrationality, IF they are behind this." Lucifer began as he crossed his arms, "But one thing we need to remember is that before the appearance of the Dark One, the demons produced by Doom were both mindless and soulless. Beasts that only acted on instinct and the innate compulsion to ravage and destroy. IF Harut and Marut secured themselves any demons before the Dark One started seeping himself into each of them, then there isn't much of an issue." He said.
"Which is definitely the case. For as we've established, the Dark One has no association with this place." Gabriel reminded.
"Could it also be possible this is just one of your sibling's circles? After all, no one here has even BEEN to any of them since the war ended." Lilith suggested.
"A perfect point, Lilith." Vega complimented, "Another probable explanation is that this is a circle governed by a devil who has no relation or association with our family. For remember, as creation continued to expand, as did the mortal realm, more circles of Hell and sections of Heaven needed to be made to accommodate." He told them.
"May we interject?" The Wraiths requested.
"The floor is yours," Vega replied while gesturing to the space around them.
"One detail, in particular, perplexes us. We've established that the Argent is, at this time, the best guess for why this happened. However, it should not be overlooked that it was Velvet who not only saw into this unknown place but was able to form a familiar based on a creature she saw within it. Neither Alastor nor Stolas have had these visions. Granted, they did not receive a surge of their energy in as violent of an experience as she did. But still, for some reason, it is Velvet who was able to peer through reality. Why?" They asked.
"My best guess is random chance," Lucifer said, "Sort of like a shotgun, those fire multiple pellets rather than a single bullet. Increases the likelihood you'll hit something." He added.
"But to see one thing out of all those visions in such vivid detail, let alone replicated a creature from it? That establishes for me that there is more to this than a simple accident." Gabriel argued.
"We also can't ignore how strong the resemblance to Doom is whether it is Harut and Marut, another of our siblings, or a random devil. So I feel we are safe to assume that this DOES have something to do with Doom." Azrael mentioned.
"There IS a fourth possibility." Vega said as he put his hands behind his back, "Just like how the Dark One's life was unforeseen. It isn't outlandish to suggest that another creature, again before the Dark One took control of all the demons, gained sentience and became one of the devils not tied to our family." He proposed.
"Hm, true. The Wretch is a perfect example of that. He came to despise his maker and what he had done. If a demon were left alone on a battlefield, presumed dead or ignored, it would've had plenty of time to develop and evolve." Gabriel hypothesized.
"And with no one speaking to each other after the treaty was established. They could've easily created a circle of their own in Hell without any of us noticing. So long as they took it slow and avoided detection." Lucifer added.
"Many potential answers, but little time to investigate." The Wraiths said, "Which brings us to the
greatest question of them all, how do we move forward?" They asked.
"I say we put it to a vote. Not one person here should have an ultimate say on this." Vega suggested as he raised his hand, "I believe there are two choices; feel free to add another if you see the need. We can either wait to look into this unknown territory until after the war or have Samur and the Khans begin an investigation once they finish their sabotage of the Gore Nests on earth." He said.
"I choose, wait." Lucifer responded as he held up his hand, "We have the war, our circle to manage to ensure there isn't a panic and the matter of Helsa Von Eldritch that my wife and I need to discuss with you, father." He said.
"I second that," Lilith said with her hand raised.
"As do I. Also, I would like to know the current condition of miss Eldritch too." Gabriel said while raising his hand.
"Ditto," Azrael said, her hand already lifted.
"Then it is decided. We shall wait to explore this new frontier until the conflict is done. We shall keep an eye on Velvet should any new developments come to light." The Wraiths told them.
"That would be appreciated, thank you," Vega replied.
And with that, their meeting came to an end. Vega opened a portal for all of them to leave through, deciding to take them to the Sentinels' dining hall so he could tell his family about Helsa, among other things.
