The next day, Kit was going to get the girls when she saw Rei heading towards her.
"Hey!" Rei said as he stopped in front of her and gasped for breath.
"Hello, kitty," Kit said, then covered her mouth, her eyes wide.
"Huh??" Rei asked, obviously confused. "What was that for and where did that come from??"
"Well, since your bitbeast is a cat, your nickname is cat-boy. You know Sakura's, Kai's is Phoenix, Tyson's is Ryu (Dragon), and Max is Overly- perky. Kelly's is Bear and Sora's is, for lack of something better, Sky. Mine is fox-girl!" Kit explained. "So, what was your original purpose. Surely not to just walk along and see me." Kit laughed.
"Well, we have a tournament that we are going to soon, and we were wondering if you wanted to come with us. Well, you and your team, more precisely. You don't have to actually fight, just say you are our guests for this tournament and you will be able to see how we really blade. How about it?" Rei asked, smiling slightly.
"Sure. I just have to go tell Kouga and hope he's not drunk or still unconscious. Should I go get the girls and you deal with my brother, Rei?" Kit asked as she saw a frown on Rei's face.
"Alright. We'll meet back here in 10 minutes, ok?" He said, already heading towards Kit's house.
"Sure!" Kit called as she started towards Sakura's house.
~10 minutes later...~
All of the Kitsune Gins were at the designated area, awaiting Rei to come. When he did appear, about 1 minute late, I might add, Kit and Sakura almost jumped on him.
Kelly was giggling like mad and Sora was having a hard time not bursting out laughing.
"What the heck??" Rei said.
"We tricked Kit into having a bit of sugar by dumping a whole lot in some tea and other snacks that we gave her. We almost used up a whole pack of sugar to finally get her sugar-high, though. It's really hard to do. But it worked, and Sak got some, too," Kelly explained, still giggling away.
"Even though Kit's gonna kill us when she gets off the sugar-high, it was SOOO worth it!" Sora said as Kit and Sakura got off Rei and helped him up.
"I think we should get them un-sugar-high before we go. Kai doesn't like a lot of sugar-high people. Usually, Max and Tyson are enough for him," Rei said, walking towards the park.
A little later would have found Kit and Sakura doing laps of the park. Kit was on lap 5 while Sakura was on lap 4.
After about 3 more laps each, they had calmed down enough so that they wouldn't give poor Kai a head-ache.
"Tyson! Max! Kenny! Kai! We're here!" Rei yelled as he walked inside the dojo-place that Tyson lived in.
"Hi, Rei. Kit, Sakura, Sora, Kelly," Tyson said as he walked out of his house. "Max isn't here yet, Kenny is inside and sourpuss is off walking somewhere in the country. Come on in," Tyson said as he moved out of the way of the door. They all walked inside to see Kenny sitting at a table with his laptop out.
"Hey, guys. And girls," Kenny added hastily when he saw Kit about to retort. "Are you able to go?"
"I don't know. But, I think, either way, Rei is taking us with you. Was my brother bad?" Kit asked, looking over at Rei.
"Not really. Just a little.....stubborn. Why did I see a sword on the table, anyway?" Rei asked, looking directly at Kit.
"That is one of the multiple swords that I use. I have one with me, as well. I hope you don't mind, but instinct told me to take a sword with me where ever I go because of... Well, let's just hope that Kai and Max get here soon. I want to go to this tournament. I've never been to any besides the non-major ones that we compete in," Kit said, avoiding Rei's eyes.
"I'm here, baka kitsune," a cold voice said from behind them.
Kit growled, but did nothing else. 'Must not attack. Must not attack. Must not attack.' Was being repeated over and over in her head.
"Hn. Doesn't even dare to attack me. How pathe—"Kai was cut off by a sword appearing at his neck and a very angry Kit standing right in front of him.
"What were you saying? I think you need to repeat that," Kit dared, pressing harder against his neck.
Kai glared, but was forced backwards as Kit took a step froward. She glared right back at him, seeming like a hunting fox for a moment before sheathing her sword and walking to a window. She got on the windowsill and sat there the whole entire time they were waiting for Max.
Kai was astonished. She had attacked him without much movement! He couldn't follow her movements. She was faster that any single person he had ever seen or heard of. She had managed to turn around, take about 10 steps, and draw her sword faster than the eyes could follow. 'I'll have to watch this one,' Kai thought to himself. 'She may be dangerous.'
Just then, Max and a silver fox came in the open door.
"Hey!" Max greeted everyone. "Does anyone know who this fox belongs to? It's been following me all over until I finally got here, then went ahead of me."
"He's Kit's," Sakura said. "His name is Yoko and he's one of a very rare breed of silver foxes. He follows Kit everywhere and is rather over- protective of her. Come here, Yoko," Sakura said, bending down. Instead of going to Sakura, Yoko went to Kit and jumped on her lap. Everyone laughed.
"Everyone here? Let's go!" Tyson said, marching out the door and waiting for the others. Max and Sakura followed him happily, being the perky people they are. Kelly, Sora, and Rei went next.
"Attack me again and you kill die, fox," Kai said softly before moving to leave.
"Then don't provoke me again and I will not attack," Kit said as she appeared in front of Kai and exited.
'She is definitely going to have to be watched,' Kai though as he exited after the rest of them and chose a seat in the back of the bus.
