Okay, crappy ending last time, I know, but I was tired and I wanted to go
to sleep and I had a horse-back riding lesson this morning, so I had to go
to bed early. Well, here is the update if anyone actually reads this.

She was frightened by those eyes. So much like HIS eyes.....
Rei, meanwhile, was worried about Kit. 'Why did she spook like that? I didn't do anything to her, did I?' Rei asked himself. 'No. I'm positive that I have given her no reason to be afraid of me. So, I might have reminded her of something or someone bad and she ran off. That's probably the case. I'll ask her later.'
Kit went into her hotel room and took a shower. When she got out, she found Sakura sound asleep, snoring slightly and smiling.
"Oi! Get up, Sak!! Sak? Sak! SAK! SAKURA!!!" Kit yelled, finally resorting to shaking her awake.
Sakura sat bolt up in her bed. "What was that for, fox-girl?? I was having a good dream!"
Kit snorted. "Yeah. A really good dream as you over-slept. It's already 7 in the morning! You should have been up half an hour ago! I was up 2 hours ago! You really need to set an alarm clock," Kit mumbled as she went next door to see how the rest of her team was doing. They, at least, were awake.
At breakfast, Rei and Kit sat across from each other. Kit looked at the meal in front of her and Rei looked at anything but her. Sora and Sakura noticed that they weren't looking at each other and they were definitely preoccupied. So, they shared an idea to get the two of them together and they were not going to stop until the cat and the fox were a couple!
Everyone mostly just talked and tried to get a few things before Tyson ate everything. After breakfast, they went back to the bus and started out again. Sora and Sakura "accidentally" pushed Kit into the seat next to Rei. Kit blushed a little bit as they touched, but soon turned to glare at Sakura and Sora, both of which were giggling quietly and playing games with Tyson and Max. Kelly and Kenny were discussing computers and other stuff. Kai was, as usual, not talking to anyone and sitting on his own.
"Kit?" Rei asked cautiously.
"Yeah, Rei?" Kit asked, turning her full attention on him.
"Why did you run off like that, this morning?" Rei asked, and regretted bringing they subject up as Kit flinched slightly.
"Well, your eyes reminded me of someone else's eyes. The person also beyblades, but he is an amateur, especially compared to you. He has eyes just like yours, except that his had anger and hate in them. Always. He used to be my boyfriend, three years ago. He...wasn't exactly nice, you could say. You reminded me of him when you were just standing there, looking at me. That's why I ran away. Because of bad memories. Why?" Kit asked, looking at him.
Rei avoided the question by asking one of his own. "What do you mean, not exactly nice?"
"It's nothing, ok? It's just a memory, it can't hurt me, and it doesn't matter," Kit said forcefully.
Rei looked at her. He saw an almost animalistic glint in her eyes. "Yes, they can. Not physically, but emotionally they can hurt you. Tell me what you meant, Kit."
Kit looked away. "He hurt me a couple of times. When we were blading. He would get past my defenses and he would attack me with his blade. At the time, he told me it was for my own good, that it would make me stronger. And, being the fool I was then, I believed him. So, that continued for a while. I even have the scars to prove it."
"Where?" Rei asked, sounding very angry.
"Let me have the window seat and I'll show you," Kit said. They switched seats and Kit lifted up her shirt a little bit, her back to him, and shivered as Rei's finger traced one of the scars.
"How?"
"With his blade, I told you."
"No, how could you let him hurt you and not even get back at him?" Rei was furious.
"I told you that, too. I was a fool then and I believed his story. I regret even ever talking to him He was evil. He would steal other kids blades, as well. After I dumped him, about two years ago, he tried to get my blade. Sakura arrived with Yoko and Yoko attacked him. He stills has the scars from Yoko's teeth," Kit said, smiling a little bit. At that moment, Yoko jumped onto Kit shoulder and whined in her ear. Kit laughed and gave him a croissant. He jumped onto Rei's lap and ate it there, since Kit was still facing the window and he found Rei's lap comfortable.
Rei smiled and stroked Yoko's ears. Yoko leaned into his touch, making a noise almost like a purr.
Sakura and Sora smiled. Rei had Yoko's approval. Now, to stage two of their plan. Sakura raised her voice slightly so that it would carry and said, "I bet I could beat anyone at this game."
"What game is it?" Kit asked immediately.
Sakura grinned. 'Jackpot,' She thought. "Hot hands. I think you know how to play, eh, fox-girl?"
Kit smiled. "Naturally. Now, prepare to lose!"
"I'll play you on one condition," Sakura said, grinning widely.
"Which is...?" Kit said, looking interested.
"If I win, you have to kiss Rei." Sakura grinned at her victory.
Kit grinned as well. "If I win, you have to kiss Kai. Deal?"
"Deal," Sakura agreed and they played for a while until, finally, Sakura won. Sakura shoved Kit towards Rei. Kit glared at her.
Kit hesitantly sat down next to Rei. She was about to kiss him when Sakura yelled, "Do it! Do it!!"
"Shut up already!!!!!!" Kit roared across the room at Sakura, who "Meep"ed and hid behind Sora.
Kit turned around and was about to kiss Rei when he did the honors. They both broke away after a few seconds, both tomato red.
"Rei has a girlfriend. Rei has a girlfriend!" Tyson and Max said, laughing. The next second, each was on the ground with swirly eyes (@__@) and a big lump on the head, courtesy of Kit.
They stopped for lunch and Kit and Rei sat on their own in a tree. Kai was watching them, but he was watching Sakura at the same time. 'They are both pretty. One is dangerous when angered and the other gets hyper easily. It seems that Rei has claimed his, now for me to claim mine,' Kai thought as he watched Sakura go hyper again.
