Well, I see that everyone liked last chapter! I'm sorry that I haven't been able to update, but I had to study for some tests and do a project, so, school comes first, and I do have a life, though it is a very small one.
Kai: Hn. Just get on with the stupid fic already!
Me: O__o What got YOU in such a bad mood today, mister?!
Kai: Nothing. Absolutely NOTHING.
Me: Well, here's the chapter and I'll just go hide from Kai while you read this so....
~*~ Chapter 13: the rescue! ~*~
~ Preveously on Dragon Ball Z.......errrrr.....The Other Team ~
'I hope you get back soon, Rei. I don't know how much more of this I can handle,' Kit thought, a tear leaking out of her eye and settling on the floor. Kit sat down and waited for Rei to come back.
~ Continuing.......~
Rei ran to Kai's house first, then told him what happened in a summary.
"I'll go get the rest of her team, except Sakura, and you can go get the rest of our team, except Tyson, and Sakura, alright?" Rei said quickly, wanting to get Kit out of her house as fast as possible. Kai nodded and they both set off at a run.
Rei got the rest of the Kitsune Gins (not including Sak) and then went to wake up Tyson. When he entered the house, he heard soft snoring coming from one of the rooms. Rei walked over to the room and entered silently. He saw Tyson sleeping and woke him up with a sharp kick to the side.
"Ack!" Tyson yelled as he fell out of bed. "What the heck was that for, Rei?!?!"
"Hurry up and get your clothes on," Rei hissed. "Kit's being held in her house be her older brother and we need to get her our of there."
Tyson nodded and pulled his clothes on. "Let's go!" He yelled, picking up his wooden sword and marching out the door.
Rei followed him and they left to go meet the others. When they arrived, they found all the members of both teams (except Kit) gathered in front of Sakura's house, which was pretty much right next to Kit's.
"Okay, how come fox girl didn't get herself out of this mess?" Kai asked.
"Because she couldn't use her powers," Rei said quickly, looking around. "Alright, Sakura should be the one to lure Kouga away from their house."
"Why ME?!?!" Sakura asked, looking horrified.
"Because you're the fastest runner and you are the one that can trick him into following you. Kelly and Sora will watch for both of you and tell you to keep away, even stall him with blades if necessary, and Max and Tyson will be backup. Kenny, Kai, and I will try to get the lock open. Any questions?" Rei said, looking around. Everyone shook their heads. "Good. Now to put our plan to action," Rei said with a slightly evil smile.
Sakura walked over to the door and walked in fearlessly. She looked around for Kouga and, when she didn't see him, made a lot of noise. Kouga rushed into the living room and saw Sakura run out of the room with his special pocket knife.
"GET BACK HERE, THEIF!!" He yelled, giving chase. Sakura ran past the group, giving them the thumbs-up and a grin.
Kelly and Sora placed themselves next to windows near the door and watched intently on one side of the house while Tyson and Max took the other. Kai started looking around the house for something they could use to pick the lock with. He had seen Kouga with the keys when he ran past.
Rei and Kenny tried to figure out what they could do in the meantime to try to get the lock open.
Kit had fallen asleep and heard someone knocking on her door. "Rei?" She called softly.
"Yeah, it's me, Kit," Rei's voice came from the other side of the door. "Are you okay?"
"Physically, yes. Other than that, only minor wounds," Kit said with a small, slightly forced, laugh. "So, when are you getting me out of here?"
"As soon as we can, Kit," Rei said, sounding slightly angry at something. "We can't find anything to pick the lock with!!"
"Oh, that?!" Kit asked, bursting into laughter. "Just find a pin or something and use that! It's not that hard, you know! You of all people, Rei, should be able to pick a lock. Cats are good at that sort of stuff, like foxes," Kit said, still chuckling. She heard the sounds of three people falling over and guessed that Rei and whoever was with him had fallen over. She giggled quietly at the thought.
"Okay, I'll try and find one," Kai said, glaring at the door one last time before departing.
Kit sighed to herself. She was definately not in the mood for this c**p. She decided to try to blast the door down. She gathered some of her energy into her hand and aimed it at the door. "Watch out you guys!" She called and waited for about 10 seconds before releasing the energy, only to find that she couldn't! Instead, it came back and shocked her. She cried out in pain and looked at her hand. It was red, raw, burned.
Rei heard the cry and looked around for Kai. He saw Kai running towards them with a pin in his hand. Rei grabbed the pin and inserted it into the lock. He moved it around a bit before hearing the telltale 'click' of the lock. He burst into the room to find Kit holding her right hand in pain, it seemed. He walked over to her quickly and looked at her hand as well. He gasped. It was red and bleeding slightly.
"Come one, Kit. Let's get out of here," Rei said gently. Kit nodded and stood up, wincing slightly. Rei led the way out and they both ran out of the room and out to the door, Kai and Kenny following. "Time to go!" Rei yelled as he passed Kelly, Sora, Max, and Tyson. They all ran our of the building and ran over to Sakura's house to wait.
Sakura, meanwhile, was getting slightly tired from running all over town with the mad guy on her heels. She passed her house and saw Kelly waving to her, meaning that they had Kit. She quickly threw the knife over her shoulder and, not looking back, hopped the fence to her backyard and went in the door.
"You got her?" Sakura asked, panting.
"Yeah, we did, but she somehow got hurt," Rei said, walking over to her. He motioned at Kit's right hand and Sakura saw that it was badly burned.
"Will it heal properly??" She asked, worried. That was Kit's sword hand and her writing hand.
"Yeah, it'll be fine in a few days, hopefully," Kit said, holding her hand. She glanced out the window and murmured softly, to her self, it seemed, "And we have won the war, but not forever. War never ends." A small tear slipped down her face.
Everyone had lunch, provided by Sakura and Kelly, and talked for a long time. They also had a few blading matches. Kit sat away from everyone, in her special tree, watching them all.
'We may have won this war, but the struggle is not ended yet. We still have to get rid of my one obstical: Kouga. He is still my brother and I am still in his custody, as much as I hate to say it,' Kit thought to herself. 'But we will win. That I know.'
